Yes very true, Boogsie should of really sped the song up and added more runs and jazz within the arrangement.If you reflect on classic arrangements by Boogsie such as "Breakdown","Woman is Boss","Jam Meh up"etc the arrangemets had much more complicated runs,unique tenor bass and guitar pan patterns,and intricate chord proggessions than the other bands..

Nice tune, nice intro, don't care for the rest of the arrangement much though. The modulation from 5:05-5:17 is maybe the worst key change i've heard in any panorama tune. The repetitive ascending chromatic figures near the end of the tune starting at 6:45 are pretty bad too, although slightly improved from semis. And enough with the corny classical endings already! Come on man, where's the classic Boogsie we saw in Pan Rebels, Fire Down Below, Jam Meh Up, Mind Yuh Business, even Sharing Licks?

Before the results were announced live on national TV he claimed "Its the easiest panorama I ever win"...... Also Phase 2 had to cut 50 players before they hit the stage! So before that, phase 2 was ready to hit the stage with 150 players!

Those were the facts...Lots of my friends got cut from the band on the drag I was there, I saw the drama. This is something that EVERYONE knows. So please dont get touchy with me. If you want to get upset be upset at the MANAGEMENT of phase 2 who allowed so many extra players over the limit, rules are rules. ALSO....you say you had 30 players and its your band right, so WHY was your captain on the TV news claiming they ONLY CUT 7 PLAYERS? (Stupes)

Exodus was solid in the middle passages, a little weak in the intro and ending, and by far the best looking band. I think the other bands should follow their lead and dump the canopies. All of the above is in my humble opinion. My lineup would look as follows:

1. Ph. II

2. Renegades

3. Deltones

4. S. Stars

5. A. Stars

6. Exodus

7. Despers

8. Redemption

Head and shoulders above the rest. It was a very close competition otherwise, the standard was very high. But even so, I would not have put S. Stars ahead of Renegades. AllStars was weak on the night. And Deltones had something going on that deserved better than 7th place. Despers was Despers as they have been for 20 years, good but they need to come with something different. Redemption Sound gets my vote for the best band for a jump-up on the road, but this is Panorama.

That's real nice music. But not the best Boogsie ever did. I just hope Boogsie stops with this conducting thing. That's just embarassing&makes no sence, because a panoramaband is on autopilot and nobody would follow the conducter anyway. I just looks totally foolish& like copying an european tradition in a strange surrounding...... and fore sure the far more interessting arrangment as silverstars, but phase performance is not as energetic as theirs, so 1st place for them is ok......

i find conducting in panorama is like cheating. The judges should be able to hear what you want them to hear, if they can't, then an arranger needs to change something.

I disagree, I think that its good showmanship, its not for everybody, but Boogsie as a Composer & Arranger has every right to conduct his music.
