I just got a 2010 Bonneville SE, and the entire day at and on the way to the dealership I could hear the cheesy music in this video playing over and over in my head. Thanks! I do like the vid, though. :D
@sooupdragon Well, my husband and I traded our Bonnies for a BMW R1200rt, but I really loved my SE. If we had unlimited funds and room in the garage I would've loved to keep it. I miss it.
I used to get annoyed at people not understanding what they are riding, but that is just the folly of youth. I have discovered pragmatism. I like a technically nice motor that sounds good. If you like a nice sounding horn and the stiching on the seat then that makes me happy too. I know we'll both be happy riding down the road.
This bloke doesn't have a Scooby! The latest Bonnie is fitted with fuel injectors disguised as carbs. Come on fella, know what you're riding before going thro all that!
There are faster, better handling & cheaper bikes but somehow the Bonneville just does it for me, it looks how I imagine a bike to look, no fairings a bit of chrome and beautiful proportions. In my mind they are the 'coolest' bike.
how do you think this will handle with a restrictor kit on.. i am planning on getting one but as i am under 21yrs old i cant have a bike with more than 33bhp (unless i restrict it)
@rssarma Thanks for the info! I was talking kmh, but I looks like was wrong anyway. I saw this bike on the street and fell in love with it, I usually prefer sports bikes, but this is my new dreambike. Cheers!
it's a big mistake for outsidego to have this guy tested this bike maybe Triumph lost some sales because of him. this bike is FUEL INJECTED, not CARB dude. He doesn't really know anything about bikes come on.
It depends on what u want. My dad rode bonnies in the 60's. He has an 05 bonnie right now. Sure, it's a lot smoother or "better" than a 68, it also says Mikuni on the carbs. I was looking at a 74 bonnie yesterday, it was pretty rough but all original, it had disc brakes that appeared originial. They wanted $4,500. I guess I'll stick with my 91 GL 1500 SE Goldwing.
+1 to everyone mentioning the lack of carburetors. I laughed when he said "dual carbs, the REAL DEAL!" This vid shows some really nice footage and I like the looks of that bike. I agree with lornesymes though on "whatever happened to an all english bike?" There is no doubt I prefer good looking purposeful parts over the fake looking ones.
Seems like a cool dude, decent review, but yeah thats the thing that ruined all the bikes after 2008, FAKE CARBS if your going to do carbs, do the real deal, if your going to do throttle bodies, put them on, and cover them up. Dont do a half azz job by making the TB's look like carbs. and the alloy wheels look like they are off of an '85 honda Nissin brakes? those are japanese. What ever happened to an all english bike? Ok I'm done ranting...
@cfodk i ride a Suzuki TL1000s and its a beast,!!! but the bonneville is a barell of monkeys to ride, looks cool, sounds great and has laid back performance. a truly great machine.
I dont. care if this is not the most technically detalied review , there are others on the internet for that. I am saving up for one of these bikes and I can enjoy watching this easy going video every now and again while I am waiting for my bike. Beuatiful bike, nice guy, nice scenery and nice review.
Ok I'm sure this guy is a great guy, and we would probably be great drinking buddies, but who ever had the brilliant idea of having him review the bike could have at least told him those carbs were fake and that it's fuel injected.
That's really one of the cool things about the new efi models, you can't tell it apart from the carbed ones from a cursory glance. You get all the style of the classics without the inefficiency of carbs.
this review is pathetically executed and misinformed. the reviewer clearly knows nothing about the motorcycle and struggles to piece together anything that could be considered an informative or intelligent sentence about the motorcycle, or Triumphs in general. "always had two-tone paint" - wrong. and considering the clumsy nature of the turnaround at 2:22 this person does not possess the riding skill necessary to host or produce an informative review of any motorcycle.
I DO WISH THE RIDERS WOULD TELL US HOW TALL THEY ARE....THAT WOULD GIVE US A BETTER IDEA OF THE SIZE AND RIDING POSITION OF THE BIKE..

Fake old. Lame. Real Bonny's are cool, but why would you buy a fake plastic one?

The way this guy talks, it reminds me of Jim's dad from American Pie. "We'll just tell your mum we ate it". Lol.

Love the bike, but why do people insist on drowning out the sound of the bike with music playing?
CAN THE MUSIC, LET US HEAR THE BIKE!

@GreenTransportation built using worn-out Third World tooling, and needs loadsa maintenance, Enfields are expensive for what they are.

Does anyone know what the top speed on this beautiful bike is? Not that it really matters... I'm thinking 220-240?
m15t4k3n 1 year ago
@m15t4k3n Are you talking MPH? No, it will max out around 120mph (200kmph), this isn't a sports bike by any means, but rides really, really well.

The guy is not an engineer. He is an artist, so he tells you what he FEELS. And that is what this retrobike is all about. Feelings.
I am sure some people feel better riding a Honda or BMW for technical and/or performance reasons. But thats not why you ride a bike like this.
This is a looks old - works new maschine. We dont really need to know any more than that.
Thks for posting .....
