  • user FansubKeikaku (1video) and the next part xD

  • why don't any video editors have .ass support? It would be great to be able to access such nice typesetting and karaoke effects while also having nice video effects and the ability to trim stuff.

  • My aegisub crashes everytime the minute I open it? Is there any thing to fix it, or do i need to download anything? I am using a mac.

  • This is an .ASS file... LOL!

  • @Levantmastah export it and save it as .srt

  • I am looking for a tutorial abou to move and rotate the text of a subtitle at same time.

It's a scene where a file is showed with a frase in english that moves up a little and rotate a bit and I want the subtitle follow the movie text.

The first issue is that I don't know how to rotate AND move at same time.

The second issue is that the movement is not constant, it velocity varies...

  • Hi, I was asking you questions earlier, but I still cannot get it to work....how do I save subtitles onto a video, and then from there how would i save it so that I could upload it on youtube?

  • I like the extention name of the sub file (.ASS) wow, the creators really had a big imagination. )))

  • Comment removed

  • where is the second part? TT^TT

  • Teehee. .ass

  • @antishinee I believe that you have to hardsub you video first.

First, save the subtitle file as .srt and rename both the subtitle file and the video file (the video that you want the subtitle to be hardsub in).

Then you put both the subtitle and the video file in the same folder. After that, you need a video converter/encoder and then encode the video to .avi file.

I think that's how you do it, hope that'll help!

  • @ChocoPeiaTimeless hi! uhm. I'm new at using Aegisub and I don't know how to save the file into (dot)srt. :((

  • @eminalover03

To export subtitle to .srt file

    1.) File > Export Subtitles

    2.) Uncheck all the boxes

    3.) Text encoding: UTF-8

    4.) Clock 'Export...'

5.) Save as type: Subrip (*.srt)

    6.) Save

***Make sure you name the subtitle file with the exact same name as the video file, and also save it within the same folder.

Does this help? Sorry if it's confusing, I'm not that good at explaning....or English =.=

  • @ChocoPeiaTimeless it's not confusing at all!! thank you thank you thank you thank you !!!!!!! you save my life. or at least, my grades! I need subtitles for my project. :)) thank you very much!! :))

  • @eminalover03

Yay! You're very welcome! Glad to be able to somewhat help you. Good luck on your project!! (^w^)

  • @MuzikSubs What part?

  • "I'm not going to sing a song or anything...I'm not that evil."

    LOL!!!

  • Thank you very much for this video!

You did a very good presentation to Aegisub and I would like to see the rest of your videos if you have made them. I just started on this subject and I could use some more information.

    Best wishes

    Rolf

  • I have not actually used the program, but the way it usually works is that you get a subtitle file (.srt is the most common), put it in the same folder as the video, rename the sub file so that it matches the name of the video file. Then just open the video in VLC and there you go. :)

  • THANK YOU! :D

  • Haha. .ASS file.

    Hahaha, butt humor.

  • Could you use this to REMOVE Subtitles from a clip? I don't think that's possible but does not hurt to ask.

  • @Prttimeninja2 If it's hardsubbed, you can't. Hardsubs means that the subs were actually saved on the clip itself. If it was softsubbed, you'd have the video clip + the sub file to load into a video player.

  • OMG THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH I GET TO DOWNLOAD THIS TOMORROW!!!!! *EEEEE* CANT WAIT!!!!

  • @antishinee i want to know that too!!!!

  • more aegisub tuts!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How do you download it? and is Virtualdub the same as Aegisub?

  • @lilbaby369 To load your subtitles on the video use Virtualdub.

No they are not the same, Aegisub is a different program than Virtualdub.

  • Can you please tell us how to save as a video, so it could be put on facebook

  • @antishinee Well, I am not an expert on Aegisub (I never made subs with Aegisub but will try soon) but there are other programs to put the video and the subs together.

  • when I open the audio from the video, the audio is not responsive to the video. Its like when the person talks in the video, the audio is not matching what the person is saying. How do I fix this problem?

  • @xiiaodtruly It's ok to have this problem in aegisub - I have it myself sometimes- .. just go and fix your lines on the audio, when you load the lines on your video - The original video- it will match.

  • MAKE MORE TUTORIALS PLZ!

  • i have a problem what should i do for this error

  • Well sometimes this happen, but don't worry just work with audio simply and when you past the lines on the vid. it will be mach with everythin' you want, that's happen to me a lot but I just work with it normaly

  • oh thank you so much! actually when i tried a second time and reimport them everything was ok XD

  • Thank you for this awesome tutorial, but I've got this really annoying issue. Everytime I try to open a video in the Aegisub program, it gives me an error, a fatal exception and immidiatly closes down afterwards. Anyone know what the problem might be?

  • im not sure but maybe it's because the file is not in a format that the aegisub accepts? try to convert the file into another format (yea like using a video converter)

  • wow that next video must be really long lol......where is it O.o

  • thank you so much for this tutorial.

it was really helpful :D 5/5 rate ^^

  • how do you hardsub mkv?

  • try using - mkvtoolnix-unicode-1.7.0 - it doesn't need for install just open it and then click on - mmg - file load your mkv file and remove the tick from the subtitle and then click on start mixing .

  • it will embed the sub or stream it?

  • cuz i tried mkvtoolnix it worked but when i transfered on ps3 the sub's gone... ps3 doesn't support vobsub, so how do you encode it right?

p.s. how do you encode it on avc?

  • well, I don't use mkvtoolnix so i don't know anythin' about it. Try to use the program i told you about and and it will be hardsubed. to encode the video with the lines use vitualdub check out my channel I'll upload a video how to do that soon.

  • is mkvtoolnix and mkvtoolnix unicode .a diff. programs? what lines?

  • I don't know!! I just use mkvtoolnix-unicode-1.7.0 I never tried mkvtoolnix!! try using mkvtoolnix-unicode-1.7.0 and see if you can find any differences! and "lines or taters" are the translation that you write to be loaded on the video.

  • what video type file can you use?

(I loeaded a .wma file and when i opened the audio from the video most of the audio was cut off)
