@Crazyrudie HAHA... that's hilarious. I first laughed because of the shitty sound of this video... then I saw him turn a vox amp down and was like, "damn!" and then laughed again.
@bpabustan Perhaps his receiver or pre-amp & amp have aux. cable inputs, or he's got a pre-amp or receiver running a line from their headphone jacks to whatever hookup the guitar amp has. The headphone jack to guitar amp way of doing it is the least "audiophile" way of doing it though.
i have a shure cart it's good i had this one for almost 2 years now it has out lasted any other needle in hours and it's still going clean records mean longer needle life i got my needle back in nov 2008 and it still has its bass mids and highs like it did when it was new now that i have a stanton turntable it still sounds good like it was brand new!!
@aldiakaroofus Don't bother. Try a Sumiko Oyster. They just went up to $70 but you'll pay about as much for a Shure M44-7 which was designed in the mid-60's and isn't nearly as good. The Audio-Technicas are nice, too. Can't beat Japanese cartridges for the money.
@49kasey I forgot to mention the Grado Black. It tracks at 1.5 grams, isn't sensitive to load, has very flat response and is literally a high-end cartridge for only $60. It will take any of their upgrade styli which don't require any tonearm adjustment. It's American-made and unlike Shure and Stanton, they improve their products all the time without discontinuing them. I'd go for this one. What turntables do you have?
Is your turntable plugged into a guitar amp?

Is it possible to mount this cartridge on an original Technics headshell that only has one mounting screw rather than two mounting screws?

The AT carts really surprised me for how inexpensive they are

Your turntable is plugged through a VOX valvetronix guitar amplifier? How is that possible?

I have many turntables and cartridges and I still haven't owned a Shure cartridge so far. I should try one, one of these days.
