The assassins of her career were Jerry Masucci (Italian) and Johnny Pacheco (Domincan) They are the owners and when she and her record company, Tico were sold to Fania, she was the one left without promotion because they could manage and manipulate Celia and Lupe was not going to have it! She ripped the check they gave her as liquidation and stormed out. Lupe would've had a glorious career if they hadn't terminated her contract. Viva La Reina!
