@brainlesswonder correction he has HALF as many home runs this season, with 160 less at bats, despite getting hot lately. He has HALF as many steals,
BA, SLG, OPS, RUNS, RBI'S, STEALS,DBL'S, TRIPLES. considerably all down. 150 at bats would not change those stats since he is way down. He is DOWn in EVERY major offensive category, including AVG'S as well.

@jays0909 Yup, having the fewest at bats since 2004 will do that. Coming back to quickly from surgery will do that. Players need to play into their grooves, plain and simple. The man you see introducing Chase Utley is the late, great Hall of Fame voice of the Phillies, Harry Kalas, who also was the voice of NFL Films.
Harry considered Philly sports fans as among the best in the U.S., if not the very best.
Kalas deeply loved us because we're very knowledgeable about the game and we don't easily tolerate sub-par performances. He is buried in Philly - his adopted home.
Philly is heavily blue-collar and our fans love it when those on the field play their heart out.

That's one of the things that was GREAT about Harry Kalas.
He didn't talk unnecessarily - he let the sounds of the ballgame do some of the talking for the audience.
He wasn't gay - but he was slightly eccentric. Who else but Harry could get away with his clothing choices?
What other Hall of Fame broadcaster would take so much of his valuable time to be so accessible to the fans?
He had three sons by two wives, one of whom (Todd) is an announcer for the Tampa Bay Rays.

I never once heard him add anything of any use when calling a game and another reason im happy he's dead is i dont have to hear all his voice over work he did for commericals.
