I love when people try to sound like their band is better just because their band is playing it. I actually liked listening to this ^.^ I am in college going for a degree in teaching music in high school and I would consider this a standard. Miles Davis was the jam and part of me wished he'd play louder on his recordings. NICE JOB!
Isn't the sax supposed to play a D above the staff? (Just curious)
If I may make a suggestion... try and play the triplets layed back some. Not trying to be mean, nor am I attacking you in any way, but slow songs are usually supposed to sound like they're being dragged.
with my jazz band we added a Bosa nova in(3:50) to it soo its much faster at a lil bit of latin in it kinda its really kewl hopefully i can get a vid up
im playing this too and i play piano and it's the best song we're playing, the piano partt is sexyy[= but my band director is badass and edited out that fast 3/4 part cuz it basically killed the song lol and put a soli over it with tenor cuz he's graduating. but nice playing, one prob i only seen and it was the trumpet player in the begining, too forte.
my middle school jazz band plays this better then you guys. the trumpet needs a little flair to plain jazz it up a bit and the sax could try bending a note in the begining. the ballad is also to slow. then you rush the melody.
Great trumpet soloist, the alto was pretty good as well, our jazz band is playing the same arrangement and I play the alto solo, I wish our trumpet players played like that... Overall nice job.
This is just WAY to slow!!!
