  • Hey! I'm a very good artist, but, with my handwriting, I was humiliated. Through this method, My teacher wrote-

    V. Good improvement! Keep it up!.

    I was surprised!!

    You eventually changed my life!!!

    THANK YOU!!!!

  • I really appreciate you telling me this, more than I can say. Thanks. Glad it helped.

  • I have excellent hand eye coordination - I'm a watch and clockmaker by trade and I'm also a teacher but my handwriting (thankfully my writing in front of the class on the whiteboards isn't too bad) is not good - ledgible but clunky. My cursive writing is much better.

  • I'm using that pen O_O

  • Thanks for the comment. Great pen,

  • hi

  • great advice but its just hard to fit that on lined paper

  • Nice! Thanks for helping! Do you think you have a way to help smaller kids like 4th-5th grade?

  • To be honest, this is the only tip that I have. It is the only method I found that helps me, and adult that always had horrible handwriting. You might want to find out if there is an occupational therapist that is associated with your school, and if you might be able to show this person how you write. Occupational therapists are experts on fine motor skills, hand position. An OT might be able to give you and individualized tip.

  • thanks man

  • Thanks for the support!

  • This helped. Thank you.

  • so your advise is to write bigger thanks!!!!

  • You know who you sound like? The main dude from Ratatoullie. Seriously.

  • Nice,but i already have good handwriting.

  • I do that naturally, and you are right. Everyone compliments my writing. Also, using a calligraphy pen or a brush pen helps.

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • i tried doing this handwriting in school, my classmate and teacher said my handwriting was so beautiful!!! Thanks ALOT!

  • Thanks for letting me know!

  • no no no ! i love you ! tks

  • holy crap i did it once and it worked... scary O.O

  • Thanks for letting me know!

  • is my sloppy hand wriing anything to do with me missing a finger? index

  • I am not an expert in that area, but an Occupational Therapist who knows about how to help a person figure out ways to compensate for a missing finger would be a good person to ask if that is what is causing your handwriting to be sloppy. Sorry that I can't give you advice in that area. Just figured out this one tip, that works with my handwriting, and seems to help some other people as well.

  • @SamandAugust i fucking love u (completely homo)

  • i wish i had a handwriting like yours bro @__@

  • wow that really helped me thank you so much!:)

  • good one mate, thanks

  • Thanks for the support

  • I will not lie XD

  • It's scary, I tried this and it worked.

  • Thanks for sharing that!

  • Big strong strokes! :o

  • I've been trying to improve my handwriting for the past few weeks, and I didn't even really notice that I had started doing that a little bit more than I used to - drawing the tall letters out further. Now that you got me thinking about it, that really seems to be making most of the difference. Thanks! How did you come up with this btw?

  • I was trying to figure out anything I could to help myself. I visualized early Americans making long letters when they were writing and signing documents. I tried it, and it helped. I am not sure if this visualization makes sense, but it was my inspiration. Now I can at least feel functional with my writing. Thanks for the comment.

  • my hand writing is bad

so i am learing cursive but the writing test is in print

  • My writing is almost the same as in primary school... LOL =D

  • Is it normal to get blisters on my ring finger or do I just have a tight grip? I hold my pencils/pens like you.

  • I get calluses sometimes. Sounds like you are holding tight. How about one of those pens that has a ring of gel right where that spot is.

  • Thank you! This readily helped!

  • It's not because of vision it's because bigger strokes means it's to big for your wrist to deal with, so your shoulder takes over the motion and your shoulder is a lot more stable than your wrist

  • Interesting point. Thanks

  • my handwriting is atrocious, it looks like a little kid wrote it. I always blamed it on me being left handed but maybe I just suck. Interesting tip maybe I'll give it a try

  • Our Indians writing is far better than this.... I thought the UK or USA people will be writing good but i searched the web...... compared to it ours is better as our country is developing we don't have PCs in all houses, making most of us to write by hand......LOL. I gonna post my handwriting in the internet

  • I did something like this. I 'exagerated' the long line in letters (to make my handwriting look better) and my handwriting coinsidentaly improved. I think he's exactly right

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for the support

  • You have an accent. Are you from ney york or someplace up north?

  • This had thats what she said all over it

  • Thanks. As an OT in practice with kids for over 16 years, I have used dozens of handwriting strategies. Some work better than others, depending on each child. I now have a hand-full of favourites, because they work consistently! Your strategy is one among many others that may work. For example, I often use a program called Handwriting Without Tears, especially with preschool & kindergarden students. This program is kinesthetic (movement-touch) & visual. I add auditory (sounds) for success. Fun!

  • I am a PT, and I attended a short hand writing without tears workshop for the kids when I was working. It was interesting. Maybe you have a tip for thtlafnpree. He left a comment recently, ".I am a left hand writer and I write with the hook style i.e I keep my palm portion up and my fingers down and I write terribly bad. Any tip for me?" I did not know what to tell him. Thanks

  • I don't think this is correct. I think handwriting is more of a cerebellar function. It doesn't make sense to say the brain has a better idea where the hand is if the proprioceptors are firing at a higher frequency or amplitude, especially if you are actually looking at your hand while you write.

  • Writing and fine motor skills in general are very complex activities, involving many different parts of the brain. One could explore the question of exactly why this technique works. Maybe there are other factors. Maybe the fast hand movement helps your brain focus visually. The important thing is that it works, especially for people like me, who are hopeless in their handwriting. It helps writing go from terribly frustrating to being a pleasure. Not perfect, but at least legible and fun

  • @SamandAugust You haven't operationally defined "poor handwriting." How do I know if you have improved or not? It's just your opinion that it improves your handwriting. There is no evidence here that this technique works. There is also no evidence that making longer strokes allows the brain to better sense where the hand is. If you can provide evidence for any of this, I'll consider it but until then I'm considering it just a bunch of bullshit like the other stuff you have on this channel.

  • it is up to each person to decide if this helps. Some say yes, and for others it does not, I do not claim to have good handwriting. All that I claim is that this helps to make my handwriting legible enough for me to feel okay with it. I am not 100 sure if the propioception is the reason or if it has something to do with vision, the long letters, bigger hand movements helping the eyes to focus on writing. More than a bullshiter, I may be a thief as this is something many people do already.

  • I am a left hand writer and I write with the hook style i.e I keep my palm portion up and my fingers down and I write terribly bad. Any tip for me?

  • Sorry, but I am not a handwriting expert or teacher in general. I just found this one technique that works in my case, and I am right handed. But, a good idea in general would be to see if there are any occupational therapists that posted videos on you-tube, as they understand hand position for writing very well. It would be good to ask an OT this question. Thanks

  • Thanks for the comment!F

  • thansk so much

  • Thanks for the support!

  • you remind me of Christopher Walkin

  • Thanks. Christopher Walken is a man who knows how to have fun. That video that he danced in, I think Fat Boy Slim, was excellent.

  • @SamandAugust lol!

  • Lmfao , big strong strokes to tell your brain where your hand is ? Lol not trying go be an ass but I had to point that out . Don't flag me

  • 2 much pot before recording, nice.

  • One good habit is to always try to have letters stand up straight.

  • i have that pen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol I love you too :D

  • I have another tip. Write using fountain pens, to stabilise yourself. It forces you to hold yourself correctly

  • I'm left handed......

  • This is something that I figured out that works for me, so wanted to share it, but don't know a trick particularly for left handed writers.

  • Sorry but ur lying to yourself. Your handwriting is awful, please go to iampeth.com and start from scratch

  • I appreciate the comment!

  • ...Didn't work for me. im a lost cause D;

  • I'm a certified graphologist of 40 yrs. experience, and I disagree with your exercises. ..........especially your final letter Y. which is the letter of our instincts, materiality, sexuality, gregariousness, and travel. .........and the way you form it you're programming your brain to retard the development of this necessary drive of life.

  • his handwriting is horrible but still way better than mine.

  • Does this apply to people who write in print?

  • I hope it helps. Thanks for the comment

  • your letters are so small

  • It is a choice as to how small or large you want your letters to be. The important thing is the long lines. If your problem with handwriting is similar to mine, than the long lines will tell your brain where your hand is in space, and your hand writing will improve. Other than the long lines, you can customize the size of the letters to your own preference. A person has to have the same problem with handwriting that I have, to experience the incredible difference that the long lines can make.

  • this is a great tip, but its kinda hard to write fast. do i just need to practice???

  • It is not the speed that matters. It is making the long strong lines when possible as I demonstrate. This is what helps your brain to know where your hand is. You can write at a speed that is comfortable for you.

  • no, this looks bad. good try though

  • This is great-my daughter is in the 3rd grade and is having a hard time with her hand writing I am 35 and mine is horrible-we shall give it a go

  • Thanks for the comment. I hope it helps you both!

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • @laaaxy, Well? whats right if the writer is wrong hw can those with secrets expose the truth? hypocrasy is an everlasting avenging angel of truth. guruplonkaable.

  • fucking epic

  • Singing and cursing are both processed on the right side of the brain. Singing feels real good, and so does cursing. So, if you get in trouble for cursing, explain this to the authorities at hand. You may still be in trouble, but at least they will be impressed with your knowledge of neurology.

  • @SamandAugust thank you, although fucking in this context represents something good and not bad, so technicaly there is no need to get in trouble for it. And maybe in the future it will become a normal part of the language. For example 400 years ago some tones and intervals form music were banned and you would be killed if you played them. But today they are part of the worlds most know compositions

  • @kormsd haha yeah like the augmented 4th (tri-tone). "ooooh, dont play that it's the devil's interval." And the simpsons theme song has it in the first part haha

  • @oklahomma haha yeah xD

  • @SamandAugust Ima use that!

  • You sound like Christoffer Walking! XD
