  • and then he says to his bandmates, "Where's YOUR stage?"

    gtfo

  • just rediculous

  • you nkow 2 toms aint enough just put 20 more on

  • falta que el weon que toque esa wea se tire un peo de colores tambien pura parafernalia cueck ........

  • and 5 mio pedals... omg

  • can this drum set transformed into a robot like Transformer movies? LOL

  • some people have 2-tom 3-tom 4-tom... but this guy has a 25-tom

  • If I didn't know how accomplished a percussionist TB is, I'd just suspect that he suffers from "drum envy"! But he's been amazing since he was a kid, playing with Zappa. And I'm one of the folks that appreciate his work with UK as much as Bruford's work. He really is an amazing player.

  • HATE to be his roadie!!!

  • It's not a job, it's what you want to do with your life, surely?

  • I bet he dont use 50% of the drum set

  • @oldcomputer666 He uses it :3

  • @boxfreak007 Wow... I'm impressed , I never seen he play though...

  • @oldcomputer666 I saw it on one of the videos on Youtube. Can't remember which one though.

  • @oldcomputer666 Korn-I will protect you- Terry Bozzio drum solo, :)

  • great... now where do i buy one

  • how much does it cost to set this up day after day

  • Ok this is what I would like for my birthday thank you in advance!

  • Nice time-lapse movie! smooth! Do you know you can make time-lpase movies with any camera with this device: (copy address to browser): tempusALL.bymac.org

Works with ANY camera! cool :P

  • Я думал, на этом щас осьминог выйдет играть:)

  • no one needs this many drums

  • Ok i love that set but honesstly i like lamb of gods better because who needs that big of a drum set honestly ?? But Good job anyways Not hating (:

  • here's what i don't get about disliking the video, if you dislike this, you're mad at the size of terry's kit, not anything to do with the great timelapse they took or anything like that

  • nooo here plays the bigband. we have to go at the other side of the stage :D

  • But will it blend?

  • Stewart Copeland needs only 2% of that drum kit to kick ass.....

  • CONGRATULATIONS!

Now you have to take it all down.

  • tatz a owwful setup...

  • SO THIS IS THE GUY THAT STOLE MY DRUM KIT!!!!!

  • Why is my drumset 3 times bugger

  • shit, all those toms and cymbals, i know what i want for my bday!!

  • Imagine the Hawaii 5.0 theme song on that setup

  • its about making all the different sounds. Is that why it hat to be the largest drum kit in the world . I bet sometimes you don't play half of the Toms but cool drum kit

  • the Pedals xDD

  • DAMN HOW MANY CHINAS ARE THERE?

  • all i took from what he said is i have 100 grand and this is how fucking awesome i am

  • I bet if someone wanted a drumset like that it would cost about $20,000

  • Comment removed

  • You only need a bass, snare, rack tom, and floor tom. And a handful of cymbals

  • @jaredwoods89 4 piece is where it's at.

  • why does he only have china cymbals

  • f'n stupid

  • Where's the octopus who's gonna play??

  • daddy , i want one.

  • oo cara e loko de + \,,/ amo ele

  • @GeanMapex Boiola UHSAUHASUAS

  • @Marceloo0905 viadim ques es tu O filho do satan??

  • he has OVER 9000 drums!

  • must be a pain to change all the heads and tune them

  • I think he needs more drums.

  • Trap comes from contraption! I think in this case it means you could trap a Damn Elephant with this set up !!!!!

  • After Frank Zappa died, Terry became a self-indulgent douche.

  • @SonicThunderBYG As someone who has played with Terry before, I can honestly say that you couldn't be more mistaken about him. Terry is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and is simply gung-ho about drums.

  • @kindbeats I know, and I apologize, but regardless of what kind of music you play, that set is a bit excessive, and that is quite an understatement. It just really annoyed me when he said that the phrase "trap drum set" comes from the word "contraption". To which I was like, "No kidding". It also got on my nerves slightly when he said that the size of that kit isn't meant for show or for getting attention. Come on. It's the Oasis of the Seas of drums.

  • @SonicThunderBYG no sweat. You are correct that the kit is crazily excessive, but he does make it work.

  • mucha mamada

  • Totally OTT, self indulgence in its greatist form. Hell he ain't even that good, I,ve seen more impressive street bucket drummers, He must be lacking in the trouser dept with way too much money.

  • @robbietj1964 Just because someone is trying to expand his views and push the boundaries of his instrument doesn't make them self indulged. Technically, we ALL are self-indulgent, otherwise we wouldn't play drums in the first place. The reason people start to play music is because it makes THEM feel good, not others. Entertaining others comes in time.

  • i thought drums are just suppose to keep time....

  • I wish I had just as much slaves!!!

  • how much does it cost??

  • He should donate some of his drums to the Poor Drummers Association. Because I would very much like some drums of my own too. If he doesn't end up with every drum on earth :P

  • Wow nice guys! haha yeh i dont even play drums but this is one nice set up!

  • Ostentatious. It IS big, but it isn't clever.

  • You know you're getting ridiculous with your gear when it all costs more than the average person's home.

  • Chromatic? Diatonic? What´s that? It seems, Mr. Bozzio is a very cool, but also very crazy guy as well! Maybe you had to be, when you wanted to play with Zappa....

Too much for me. I always used a few drums and cymbals for the last 35 years, but always LOTS of feeling and groove! Now I understand the so called difference between drummers ( like me ), drum players and drum artists!

  • Was there really that much need to copy my kit????? :P

  • Some many drums, no cowbell?

  • What a bunch of retards missing the point in the comments. "Oh a funk drummer does a lot with just a small kit". It's different. fucking. music. This is progressive rock. If you don't like it, you don't like it.

  • GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

now where did i put my drum sticks?

  • SHIT... now where did i put the splash

  • How completely gay.

    Who cares about this nonsense?

A Motown drummer says more in one song than a thousand prog-rock drummers say in a year.

  • @gromit64 I thoroughly concur, my good fellow!

  • @RedBryn Rock-n-Roll!

  • Imagine playing with this dork. "We've got a gig in a pub tomorrow, try and disassemble your kit and then get transport to get to the pub, then set it up leaving enough room for the general public to have a drink and for us to setup. Do you think you can do that".

  • i bet there is at least 3 cymbals he never uses, 2 bass drums, and about a rough guestimation of 7 toms

  • @will1859918599 The only things I've NEVER, ever seen him use is the octave of small gongs in the back and his Handsonic.

  • Retrouvez le canal TERRA ! Ce que tu fais dans le présent, résonne dans le futur ...

  • can you miss 3 or 4 tom's, a bassdrum, a floor tom a hi-hat and some cymbals for me? Oh, some hardware would be welcome too! You would'nt miss them anyway!

    no, just joking.

    One word: GREAT!!!!

  • Danny Carey is still better.

  • The Only think i wanna know is well is this possible to even finish in less than a hour?!

  • imagine trying to tune that. I get annoyed tuning my 6 piece.

  • @antonioaquila i know right just imagine how LONG it would take to get everything good and tuned and perfect and then it falls down lol i would kill someone

  • @dunhamdude22 it took me half an hour to get my snare to get to my liking, this guy must be committed or patient.

  • there's not enough drums here

  • this is a big joke.

  • @PapaTorres your a big joke

  • Pointless? :')

  • if this rig actually goes on the road, i can only imagine the high turnover rate with drum techs...

  • i pretty sure all of this for a concert takes up one trailer by it's self

  • bitch is rich!

  • I wish UK would reform with him on drums and Allan Holdsworth. I loved Terry's drumming on the live UK album.

  • I looked in Traps drum magazine, on an article about him, and I counted over 40 drums and 75 (estimate, because he does have them stacked on top of each other), cymbals. And I gave up on trying to count how many pieces are on the rack. But anyway Terry is awesome :)

  • how can dw afford to give him this set, because yes, they did

  • The great thing is he uses it all, go terry.

  • Incredible! I'm not a drummer but this is amazing!

  • At first look you think "That's just overkill..no one needs that many drums...not even Neil Peart" But then I think "With the work Terry did with Zappa, I'm not surprised he would think in these terms and even more he's earned the right to have any set he wants".

  • i have 2 toms...

  • @Coppola63 I have 3

  • @bittergunowner12 i think he has a bit more than us combined

  • @Coppola63 Ya

  • jesus fuck.

  • Why the hell everyone talks so much crap about Terry Bozzio?!! U guys are for real??

  • Too many drums

  • that must be a huge pain to tune all those drums

  • he played for zappa for course his goin to have a bug kit and have melodies and be very creative

  • nice set but bad drummer

  • @theFMLP How do you figure that??

  • @theFMLP wtf dude....

  • man that set takes forever to set up! what a waste of time for such an awful drummer... =[

  • some of the comments are pretty rude considering he's been playing professionally a long time. i seriously boubt zappa would have him if he sucked. zappa was a perfectionist. all his drummers are considerd the best in the biz. terry is no exception. yes the set is huge, but no bigger than niel perts. terry pretty much sums it up when he says if you want to play melodies, you need more than a couple of sounds.

  • @kbgydsr Yeah, That's what I was thinking. These people have no clue.

  • oh punky!

  • Terry Bozzios dick must be fucking tiny. I'm sorry but in my opinion, this kit is just an over-bloated, egocentric mess.

  • did anyone ever notice that the musicians associated with Frank Zappa almost ALWAYS have to try and be the best at what they play?

Terry, Steve Vai, Vinnie, Jon Luke Ponte', etc, etc!

  • @haarpcloud911 It's spelled Jean-Luc Ponty. And what do you mean "TRY"? Guys like Vinnie, Terry and Jean-Luc Ponty didn't have to try! : ) (Oh yeah, and Tommy Mars too!)

  • Its sped up FAKE.

  • @vanlally What is there to fake?

  • that would be difficult to play on

  • shoulda shown him playin loser...

  • those pedals are dw9000 right?

    i can't afford 2 of those.

    I hate him.

  • i have a 5 piece drumset and he has like a 29 piece

  • This kit is huge, but thats about it, imho. A graceless bloated clunky mess. (im not dissing TB, just saying his kit is entirely ugly imo) .

  • this kit is Absolutly fucking Ridiculous

  • have yall ever thought that there may me more to drumming than just rock and metal?

  • @lucariololol yeah I have ... There is blues and Jazz ect.

  • What do you think that whole kits costed?

  • i would guess about half a million or less

  • if you haven't seen or heard bozzio as a conceptual artist, as a composer, as a one man orchestra, then you just don't know anything. his passion as a solo artist is to compose musical works...NOT drum solos. there is a big difference. each of those toms, and bass drums is the equivalent to a piano key or guitar fret...and there are 88 keys on a piano and between 132 - 144 frettable places on guitar..so yes he really does need all that for what he does

  • He talks about his drum kits being tuned chromatically and diatonically. He also individually tunes each drum to the perfect pitch and tone.

It's drumming on a level I've never experienced before. Drumming almost as an art.

It's drumming, Jim, but not as we know it.

  • @lygerobomba Well put :)

  • lol how do you write sheet music for this thing

  • wow

  • you guys should watch my time lapse video on my drums

  • Bozzio's not a showboat, you're just a jealous douche-bag who spanks his monkey while looking at pictures of Mike Portnoy!

  • It's funny, but I remember the days when he used to have an 8 piece kit, and he would totally kick ass! 2 bass drums, 3 mounted toms, 2 floor toms and a snare. Now, he's just turned into a Show-boat!

  • completley useless. you do not need all of those. i think its just a waste of money and space and time. wayyyyy too much. neil peart or chris have good sets. but not this.

  • Comment removed

  • !!! Ok if you know about drums you may know that drums are not about melody, that's why guitars and violins exist, they're about times, creativity and risks. Ok with these drum set you can play the whole Beethoven symphony by your self, man!! but its ridiculous!!!. Drums are made to smash the music background. Thomas Lang and Mike Portnoy are better than him and there drum sets are maybe not even the half of these senseless monster... Sorry but truth is truth...

  • Absofuckinglutely not.If you really think drums are only about times, creativity and risks then you should really go to Berklee and check some things ^^.

  • @monchopr09 i agree, and also disagree, instruments are adapted to make a different sound, hence how music advances. i agree drums WERE about keeping beat and not placeing a melody, but your statement kinda bites its own ass, ever heard of a rhythm guitar? why shouldnt he create a melody with HIS instrument. it looks gay, and i dont think drum melodys sound good at all.. but music is about expressing yourself, not creating what everyone else creates, that would make music pointless.

  • kick ass. i wonder how much it costs? must b fun 2 play.

  • it's like 1 million dollars. I saw him at a drum clinic a few years back. i think that how much he said it was

  • That's totally ridiculous. He looks stupid. Guy's a good player but come on.....

  • thats a senseless drum set......

  • "Its about making an art statement, visually, to do what It is that I do, for my skilled job"

    There you go...that is why!

  • Ok if you know about drums you may know that drums are not about melody, that's why guitars and violins exist, they're about times, creativity and risks.

  • I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress

  • "Drums are not about melody"? "Drums are made to smash the music background"? "Thomas Lang and Mike Portnoy are better than him"?. What ridiculous statements. These three (great) drummers are absolutely incomparable. They are each creative in a completely different field of drumming. The work that Terry does can not be judged in comparison to Portnoy's work. Bozzio is not about playing phat beats or monster fills, just as Portnoys playing is indeed not about creating melodies on a kit.

  • maybe he's just really shy and needs a big kit to hide behind?

  • I agree I think it is way overkill! It's a really cool conversation peice but that's it for me!

  • why would you even want to play this.?

  • I'm sitting here, looking at all this and wondering one thing: How much in American Dollars did all this cost? And then, how nice it would be, to be able to afford all this without having to ask what it will cost.

PS; If you need to ask what it costs, you cant afford it anyways.

  • @kc5tng Unless you're asking a hooker ;)

  • @kc5tng ya and they are all like 3000 each or more

  • @kc5tng- Terry probably didn't pay a dime for this kit cause he is sponsored by DW & they're only too happy I'm sure you build this for him so he can go around the country putting on drum clinics like this one he's setting up for & the advertising that DW gets out of it is their payment. No telling how many people that watch one of his videos or clinics will go out & buy DW as their next or first kit! It is amazing though & I would like to know how much a kit cost & how many pieces total it is!

  • @kc5tng Your last statement was a pretty flawed assumption. I'm almost certain a few of these hundreds of thousands of views are millionares.

  • @BeezleBoy

I wasnt saying no one could afford this set up...Im basically saying "I cannot purchase this kind of kit on my current budget" Im too poor to be able to afford a huge drum kit like this. BeezleBoy, you should not only read but understand what it is you are reading before you jump to conclusions.

  • @BeezleBoy "kc5tng's" point comes off quite clear: those who worry about the price aren't going to afford it, not all of the viewers of this video. I don't understand your position on the flawed assumption. It seems as though he simply made a relatively true, though probably stereotypical, statement that I'm sure most of the viewers of this video can relate to. (Notice how I used the word most? That means I am not generalizing the viewing audience, something you seem quite uptight about.)

  • i know terry wants all the pitch and choices of pitch, but look at Buddy Rich, he had like what, 3 drums? and he could make TONS of pitches on those, but with the number of drums that terry has, his skills are amazing because with the number of drums, he can play his set, unlike lots of drummers who buy lots of drums and don't know how to play them.

  • i dont see why anybody needs that many drums. danny carey has way less then terry and he drums better than terry

  • I do think this is all rather unnecessary. I am not a drummer, yet, whilst i do have an adequate knowledge of musical theory, in a band context, I think this setup is unnecessary, given that there are enough other pitched instruments providing melodies. This is all rather a bit of a shame, since I don't see anything in this Bozzio guy that I haven't seen in lots of other drummers, in terms of skill. Whilst I couldn't judge his skill, I do believe that this is something of a novelty...

  • and to some that is true it is absolutely absurd to have all these drums if you are a rock drummer that is sitting on the 1 the whole time and doing a little 1 or 2 bar fill here and there. but if you are a musician trying to express something musically on the drums by yourself then it is a necessity to have all of this. tuned chromatically a normal kit is comprised of maybe 3 to 4 notes. hell that aint even an octave. with this he can achieve melodies and rhythms simultaneously

  • Fair enough, I just can't seem to find a video of said drumming on here...

But, in all fairness, it must take a great amount of skill to be able to play such melodies and rhythms simultaneously. I just all too often regard a drummer as the timekeeper of a band, expressing himself with his imaginative rhythms and fills.

  • OVERKILL

  • Did you people not listen to a fucking word he said? It's not about size, he plays melodies with actual pitches. I'm assuming you retards don't know what the purpose of a clef is or what the word melody means with regard to the last 2000 years of Western music history.

  • The fact that ppl think it's a waste is because when ur a drummer, u tend to ignore the concept of melodies and concentrate on beat. For that fact, lot's of ppl think this set it overkill for no reason, but for his purposes Bozzio uses this kit in the way it is meant to be.

So don't get annoyed by the reaction of most, it's simply as Bozzio said: "it's hard to get passed the overwhelming impression of this drum".

  • what a joke

  • ok it shouldnt take 5 people to put a drum kit together lol just sayin. but still thats nice as shit

  • omg.. i would not like to have one of those... i would never use it all... only kinda 6 cymbals i bAse (With 2 pedals) 2 snares a hi hat.. and probably 3 toms ..

  • shit!

  • ye i agree with the most people you don't need all that stuff to be a good drummer. for solo's it is nice buth you dont need it if your just playing in a band or something. i just bought the drumcraft 8 serie and it gots a master sound :)

  • Never mind who he's played with since the 70s, he is obviously trying desperately to get recognition with drums and absolutely no substance. I can not possibly be more sarcastic by saying this but it seems to be the honest opinion of the doddering majority. Maybe he outgrew playing a 4 piece jazz kit and wants to experiment with a diverse pallet of colors, you fucking dolts? Danny Carey only plays with his drums tuned to d minor, Bozzio can play in any key, how is this hard to see or appreciate?

  • if i could just steal a bass drum two toms and a snare id be happy and thats prolly worth at least 4k
