does your arms get tired holding the steering levers forward for an extended period of time? reason I'm asking is that it takes me about 3hrs to cut my grass with a john deere x475 garden tractor.I was thinking if using one of those zero turn mowers my arms would get tired after awhile what do you think.
@xle5363 To be really honest with you, I prefer mowing with our New Holland Tractor. The John Deere is nice, but I like being able to drive easily with one hand. The John Deere is still an excellent tractor if a zero turn is what you're looking for. It is great if you have a bunch of trees to go around. The build quality is top notch as well.
@xle5363 i would go with a zero turn. get a hustler or a dixie chopper or a cub cadet tank. those are very fast. and your arms get tired at first. but after a couple time you get used to it.
@atlbraveswin00 bad cut? a cub cadet tank cuts better than a exmark. and i had a hustler super z and that thing was insane. what are you talking about??? i never owned a dixie though
@hockeyplayavinny Why would you recommend someone get a mower that's the "fastest?" Give or take a few mph they are all pretty quick. Why would you recommend getting a different brand mower when this is talking about a JD? This mower on the video isn't even JD's top commercial line zero turn. JD has arguably the best deck in the industry. Give me that deck in any condition any day. Take that Hustler or Dixie Chipper, cut at 15 mph in wet soggy grass and come back and tell me how it cuts...
@atlbraveswin00 hahahhah actually i own a hustler super z and it does cut at 15mph. with a BETTER DECK. and it did cut very nice once in the rain. i was cutting and it started raining. the tires got a little dirty but ya. when i get a chance ill make a vid of it.
@hockeyplayavinny So in otherwords you are biased. You think the hustlers deck is better than the 7 iron? LOL @ that. Why don't you go onto a site like lawnsite.com and ask everyone there and see what the majority of people think. The 7 Iron and the Scag's Velocity are probably the best at cutting in any condition. Wide chute for superior discharge and dispersing. Get done after cutting all day in the rain and you don't even have to scrape the underside of the deck!
@atlbraveswin00 in other words im saying it has a thicker deck. i really dont care if i have to scrape grass under my deck. i do it every week on every mower. its because im not lazy
@hockeyplayavinny Where do you get the idea that it is thicker? Both are 7 gauge steel...Not sure how that makes a deck better anyways. Good for you that you are not lazy...the point is...lazy or not, you don't have to spend much if any time scraping the 7 iron deck. For anybody who owns several mowers and has limited time, that is very handy, but whatever floats your boat rookie.
@atlbraveswin00 well ok.....rookie? well im pretty sure that hustler is built better than JD. hustler was mad in like 1964 or 65 im not sure. but i like the design of the hustler better..also where is your videos. rookie.
Oh, and what year Hustler was made really has no relevance to any of this. What do I need videos for? I don't have time to make little movies bragging about a zero turn mower. Whether you believe me or not I don't care. It just further shows that you an an amateur and that you know little of anything outside of your Hustler delusion.
Did you call me rookie too? Very original there Pee-Wee.
@hockeyplayavinny I'm not here to argue lol. I don't want to ruin Ramblinaround's good video with this pointless talk. In fact I think most commercial designed mowers that have been in the market for a while are all pretty solid machines with a good cut. It's just a person's personal preference. I personally like JD (own three older commercial JDs ). I've run the popular Exmark for trugreen landscapes and Scags for a huge apartment complex. Both very good mowers. A good dealership helps too!
@xle5363 yea I have about 6 acres i do with a zero turn, and my arms really don't bother me. There's no tension on the levers really and the only time you'll have them pushed all the way forward is when you're going in a straight line. If you have a lot of obstacles to mow around such as light posts, trees, rock beds whatever it makes mowing so much easier.
Very nice mower! I could see me mowing on the first day and just turning in circles. Ha. I'm sure it takes a little to get used to the steering. Very cool.
I saw a john deere ztr tractor on my way home today
