  • The kids just don't know nothing no more.

Fire it up and enjoy the music. The spirit lives on.

  • @JML110183 try John Doe, "the Losing Kind" it has that progressive country blues feel you may be looking for. To be honest tho, there ain't much that can be compared to this. This jam stands alone, I maybe bi-est being raised on highway 41 and all.

  • this is fuckin helle angels this fuckin song that really fuckin bad ass !!!

  • Fuckin' Dickie Betts. Man, I could listen to that shit all day long.

  • einfach nur geil......

  • This song gives me the chills !!!! ♥

  • so fine! yeah!

  • My dog ! that awsome singing, not even Liam Gallagher is that good Yet.

  • people say that I sing this song too slow,. they never heard this. It is a lament that can't go too slow.

  • Own the concert on video...great show. Saw Government Mule in Aspen...they hold their own...great show also.

  • Eagles who?

  • Amazing harmonies!

  • no silver dollars send in Holland(send me one)

  • Ladies and gentleman Mr. Warren Haynes on the vocal harmony's

  • when i heard them for the first time i thought they were black, one amazing band

  • yeah!

  • I was there also, 48 times I've seen Brother Gregg......Loud n' Proud.

  • love this got betts warren and woody!

  • after a day of drinking with the bros cursing on my board listening to this song makes the end of the day perfect =]

  • Damn....slow as a funeral dirge......

  • What an awesome sounding Martin guitar! I have a Little Martin and it also sounds awesome when just picking some blues. Martin guitars sound great for blues. They don't sound too acoustic-y for blues.

  • i love this song!

  • I've always loved this song performed live way more than the studio version.

It almost seems as if there is a touch of psychedelia thrown in here and there in the live versions. And that's just awesome =)

  • Dano...agreed, Warren gives them such a great combined element of guitar playing and vocal ability. Warren Haynes is one of my top 3-4 guitarists, absolutely awesome.

  • That's got to be one of the best live acoustic performances EVER! ! I just LOVE that song and I love the Allman Brothers!! They are COOL!!

  • the sound dickie makes at exactly 1:45 is unbelievable considering it is coming from an acoustic guitar.

  • @dano1881 He's using a volume pedal to get those expressions. Check out the right foot, you'll see it. Sounds WICKED!

  • that totally doesn't look like gregg... either young OR old.

  • not the same without duane

  • @hellojulie - clearly, but warren's the man and i don't even know if this song was written while duane was alive.

  • Thanks for this - I'm older, and a bit more shopworn, too - but I've carried an honest-to-Ghu Walking Liberty Dollar in my pocket for *years* because of this song.

  • HIs voice kinda sounds spent, but he really pulled it off. hard living takes it's toll on every part of you. I see it in the mirror sometimes...I'm sure I'll be seeing it more and more.

  • Anybody over 40 {been there done that} can identify with this song. No sir i;m not gonna let them catch me now.

  • Oh Yeah Mon!

  • Fucking brilliant song. Wooooot!

  • Greg Allman, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, Allen Woody

  • @terryandalex thanks!

  • so amazing. wait who is who from left to right?

  • Makes me wanna go cruisin' for awhile.. Not at midnight. I did that last week and it was cold as shit on my way back from Sac. Ironic how two of the original member rode and died in motorcycle accidents.. RIP. Errbody else ride safe. As far as comments made about the south bein' right, what exactly are you talking about? The slavery issue wouldn't make sense.. The Allman bros drummer (Lamar Williams) was black so I don't think that was the case he was makin'. Keep the rubber side down, riders

  • these are the kind o' guys you'd see on big bikes. :D or better yet, flamin' horses. :D

  • a great song!

  • Miss You Claudia!

  • I really love this song!

  • A fantastic song... dreaming about freedom... a road movie and the south...

  • This song makes me so glad I'm getting out of the North to go to college and spend the rest of my life in the South. What a great song.

  • well i wouldnt commit to where you will live for the rest of your life right out of high school. also, keep in mind that not everyone in the south is exactly like the allman brothers.

  • dude, i am from the south, and the true southerners are great people, thats why its called southern hospitality.. the food is great also.. get you some of that fried chicken, biskets and sausage gravey, and fried tators, wash it down with a glass of sweet tea...

i retired now, and moved to hawaii (7-2007) but boy! do i miss the south.

good luck to you, and keep your attitude like it is now, and you will do fine.

p.s read some info on the civil war, and u will see the south was right!!

  • The south was right? About what? slavery? I don't even know how to respond to this....

  • This song smells to: "Buffalo" Chicken wings, Ribs, leather, road, jack Daniels, weed, cow shit, and beer!!....and that's Guuud! I'm got to change oil my pants.... Long live to the South!

  • Such a cool road trip song...

  • When jaminrebel finishes his garage band gig,he can post more negative comments about Warren.

  • Wow, harmonies are spot on.

  • Greg Allman's voice is great...but its not as powerful as Haynes voice...thats the soundmans job to turn his mic lower......

  • @JaminRebel - you're a retard. warren saved ABB from becoming a nostalgia act

  • Damn right. I got a silver dollar tattooed on me because of this song.

  • @68GTO i carry a silver dollar from 1971 with me where ever i go, it's my lucky piece, because of this song.

  • I know you cant see me, but I've got my bic lighter up high and I'm waving it back and forth.

  • Give it a flick for me too. :)

  • @CzyLoon and me too!!:)
