strict gun laws? is that what will keep canadians from rushing down here to kill us? gun laws only take away good people's rights to defend themselves.. criminals dont give a shit about gun laws.. ban guns totally, only criminals will have them
I went to Montreal JUST to eat at Au Pied. Freaking incredible! The wine list reads like porn too. Met Mr. Picard he is the coolest and nicest guy and my picture with him is on my facebook profile
@danfagen yes, everything else was just added bonus, Biosphere, botanical garden, marche jean talon, the plateau, old montreal.. We had a great time and probably going back Easter
That guy who said he is so baked has 62 thumbs up haha - I have a date with a Law student on Thurs. I think I should get her bakes- but this clip- The Chef - KILLED him! If you had one shot to be on the travel channel how would you handle it!? This guy took out all the stops and showed him so much over kill. I hope his spot stays open for 50 years! ? Kings to you Sir
I love foie gras, but this is a bit gluttonous, it's a bit over the top. He totally could have given him all of those dishes in a smaller portion. He got like 15 main course sizes.
@landis69 -- I agree. Thomas Keller is right about the law of diminishing returns--you enjoy something most in the first few bites, then it's downhill from there. If Bourdain had had the same items, but in small-plate form, it probably would have been much more pleasant to eat...and watch.
Damn if my crew went to that restaurant HIGH we would finish all the plates! But that shit looks fucking EXPENSIVE how much do you think all those dishes of duck cost? At least 500 bucks worth? Shit....looks like my cheap ass is stuck with Chinese Duck at my local Winnipeg chinese restaurant....! Rich ass fuckin Quebec white people!
@fernandoiscrazy a foie gras costs around 45-60$ each, 15 dishes he hate, probably around 500-600 like you said lol, pig heads must skyrocket @ around 100$ for both
home defense? lol, you must be kidding me, we're not allowed to defend ourselves here in Canada, that's a fact, all we're allowed to do is yell "get out", call 911 and get away, hopefully. as soon as firearms are involved, the person defending their home gets charged worse then the guy robbing the place, seriously, it's just as bad here as in Britain.
@flamedrag18 whi cares, the show is about food, what do you trawl you tube looking for stuff to comment on because you think you have something intelligent to say, you don't!
@churchill1945 it's the truth, that's why I said it here, in the episode they're selling home defense firearms that you seriously can't use, we Canadians have no rights compared to Americans, at least you have some sort of freedom, our government can implement the "War Measures Act" that gives the government the power to do absolutely anything it wants, including imprisoning people without trial and due process, enacting laws without any form of approval from the house of commons, etc.
@Mujangga well, kinda, the october crisis is a legit use of it, think of it, Quebec is a part of Canada, it would split Canada in half, leaving Quebec with the ability to close the St. Lawrence seaway and really hurt Canada's economy, the Prime Minister had good reason to implement since it went against the greater good for all Canadians and the attack on the two politicians. even many people in Quebec agreed that the LFQ took things too far and wanted the war measures act activated.
@churchill1945 continued.... we have nothing to stop them, since Canada is at war in Afghanistan, they could implement it tomorrow and force all citizens to do whatever the government wants them to do, that's just too much power
@flamedrag18 Huh? You've read the charter right? Probably not. The WMA has been used three times. I'm going to go with this is a G20 issue... was your street broken to bits? Mine was. I am a proud Canadian and proud to have some Canadien as well. This by the way is why we are so proud to not be Yankees. I know this is shocking, but we in no way want to be associated with the place to the south of us. It's a long argument, but this is why the whole American 'manifest destiny' failed.
I live in Quebec City and don't eat Foie gras, but the Cassoulet and pork look awesome. There's some darn good food here, and I've learned of some nice techniques and ingredients (J'aime les herbes salées dans la soupe, par example).
argh fois gras hot dog! I can feel my arteries clogging...but in a good way....lol luvin this! awesomeness....:) lard, stuffed with fois gras...giblets....oh my freaking god! lol ooohhhhh poutine!
Its normal to give taster menus to chefs like that in most fine dining establishments. Sure, they are usually miniature versions of the original dish but I guess you are unaware that he wasn't just eating by himself. His crew were sampling the dishes too.
Very true, but that is nowhere near a tasting menu. He got like 10 main courses , if not more. Granted it is television but that is still a shitload of food. I've seen every bourdain episode and nothing he ever gets comes close to this. Just my opinion, but the ammount of food they gave Tony was a bit excessive, they could have easily cut the portions down a bit.
I like too eat as much as the next person but I would've passed out after eating that much food and I get the feeling my stomach wouldn't let me forget how much I ate either
is it me or does youtube sucks now? It takes forever to download the video, and sometimes it stops downloading like those cheap chinese flash players...
