EZ-3 Recumbent Trike on the Silver Comet Trail

No riding the trail after dark? What kind of nanny state do you live in? lol In Europe you can ride any "trail" during day or night.

Ok, so please tell me, how does the delta trike handle? Once you've learned to balance it around corners and during braking, Is there a danger of tipping?

@LibertaerUeberAlles Ha Ha! Yes, the trail goes through wooded areas and I think the county authorities are afraid of what might happen if riders used it at night.

The EZ-3 is more stable than traditional trikes due to lower center of gravity. At the end of the video, you can see that Paul turns fairly sharply with no problem. However, I'm sure that turning too sharp at a high speed without leaning one's body into the turn would result in tipping. Safe miles to you. - KJF

Too bad for me, concerning the restriction :-) I'm mainly a night cyclist (on a two-wheeled 'bent with dynamo lighting). Riding on the road at night can be OK, though. But do you notice road crown? Do you have to lean constantly to compensate?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm thinking about getting a delta. The X-3 AX and X-3 USX look interesting. So do the Hase Lepus and Lightfoot Roadrunner (wow!).

@LibertaerUeberAlles I normally use battery powered LED lighting as I ride to and/or from work on a recumbent bike in the dark during the winter months.

The Silver Comet Trail has almost no crown to it, so we didn't get to see how the trike would be affected by a high crown. But I would think you would be tilted slightly and the steering might be affected a little, but probably not enough to matter on an average road. Good luck on making a choice about what trike to buy!
