  • Why didn't you take the bolt out of the carrier? That would have made this a really great video.

And what's with all the douchebag Russians in the comments?

  • @OversteerVideos I don't know I didn't want to take it apart completely. I think the Russians are just jealous, because maybe the AK is theirs, but because their strict gun control laws, they can't buy AK-s in their country.

  • I'm saving up for one right now, where'd you buy it from? This is gonna be my second rifle I already own a .22, but have always been in love with the design of this gun. also wheres the best place to buy ammo?

  • @Orlmagfan12 Atlanticfirearms. :) You can buy ammo for it online. I don't know if local stores sell 5.45x39 .

  • @MultiRed33 Good for you.

  • @MultiRed33 He's not in the army though is he lol russians...

  • Nice VIDEO !

    RESPEKT !

  • AK-74 RULES.....

  • Man, so stuck on whether to get the 74 or 47. At first I was dead set on the 47 but some deal on surplus ammo had me looking at the 74 and I am loving it. The ones I'm looking at, the 74 is more expensive for some reason =/

  • @EverythingisFire

Well 74 is an improved version of 47. And it uses different ammo.

(all this apply only to original AK; ak-ripoffs are too inconsistent)

  • @SEThatered

What'd they improve on if you don't mind answering? All I recognized was the lightning cuts on the furniture and of course the different caliber.

  • @EverythingisFire

    Improvements are indeed not-so-big.

The details of 47 are more "loose" and a bit further away than in 74

(this was to ensure function in mud and sand).

The gas piston group is improved (in 47 it rattled, when shaken, because it was that loose).

Then there are minor shifts in the trigger group: partially due to the calibre, partially to avoid jams.

And of course many details were made thinner in order to reduce overall weight.

Not so much changes, but rather "polished version".

  • @SEThatered

Ahh, I understand. Thanks for the explanation!

  • Missed the cleaning rod, gas tube and removing the bolt from the carrier. It's not even a complete field stripping.

  • @BadKharma9 Don't spread bad Kharma lol Give the guy a break, it's a cool video.

  • When I get back from my 4 year service I'm Def gonna get an Ak of some kind so tight

  • Nice looking piece of hardware. Thanks for sharing.

  • How many rounds you put through it???

  • Simple construction, drunk monkeys can maintain these weapons. Love shooting the 74 variant.

  • cant go wrong with one of these! atlantic is a great company. thats where i got mine too

  • your rifle is so awesome i love it ! im saving up for one

  • @rattfink17 You won't regret it.

  • @thatmaninblack it's because it's russian... (;

  • You can take it apart farther than that, come on man! Do a proper field strip! Muzzle brake, cleaning kit, cleaning rod, gas tube, lower hand guard. :)

  • @TacticalGunGuy You are right, next time I make a better video about it. :)

  • @thatmaninblack Lookinig forward to it! Did you get it from Atlantic?

  • @TacticalGunGuy Yes, I got it from them. I liked their fast shipping. :)

  • @thatmaninblack TacticalGunGuy is right. I was mislead by the title of this video. I'm looking for a video on the complete disassembly of an AK-74. I have an Interarms, which I also purchased from Atlantic Firearms. I'd like to disassemble it and transport it in a large A.L.I.C.E. pack when SHTF.

  • @EquipaPatriot I tihnk I missed only the handguard. Later I make a video about how to take it off.

  • @thatmaninblack How about completely disassembling it? Remove the butt stock, handguards, and barrel.

  • @thatmaninblack I made a mistake. Forget the barrel since you need some large tool gunsmiths have to remove the barrel pin. I looked it up. I apologize.
