My band opened for Nirvana on the Bleach tour back in '90. They hung out with us and talked after the gig. I'm 6'4" and remember having to look UP at Krist. Very nice guy. Don't remember a whole lot about Kurt - quiet/shy. One of my drums smacked his Mustang during our set and I felt HORRIBLE. I kept apologizing and he just laughed. So very sad he is gone.
@chrisisgayha7 100% positive? No. It was a cheap looking Fender. I recall the guys hit a pawn shop in Charlotte and he got a Mustang. Not in a band now other than church gigs. Phester was my band back then. There is supposed to be a soundboard tape of the gig out there. Love to hear it. Those guys were mighty and loud. I was surprised when I first heard Nevermind - a little slick for my tastes.

My band opened for Nirvana on the Bleach tour back in '90. They hung out with us and talked after the gig. I'm 6'4" and remember having to look UP at Krist. Very nice guy. Don't remember a whole lot about Kurt - quiet/shy. One of my drums smacked his Mustang during our set and I felt HORRIBLE. I kept apologizing and he just laughed. So very sad he is gone.

@chrisisgayha7 100% positive? No. It was a cheap looking Fender. I recall the guys hit a pawn shop in Charlotte and he got a Mustang. Not in a band now other than church gigs. Phester was my band back then. There is supposed to be a soundboard tape of the gig out there. Love to hear it. Those guys were mighty and loud. I was surprised when I first heard Nevermind - a little slick for my tastes.

Kurt was bound to kill himself, he wasnt mentally stable, he was thinking of suicide since he was 8 years old....8 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!! he needed help. People from his HIghschool class said they werent suprised he was a rockstar, they were suprised he made it out of highschool alive...Kurt wasnt mentally sane, ever. He deffinitly had manic depression, or some type of mental illness. RIP Kurt.

Most people dont know this but he had to go to Kurts house that day to give 100% confim. Not that Kurt was unrecognizible, its just that they needed 100% confirm. Just imagine how it must have felt for Krist seeing his best friend laying there dead...you can still see that he`s touchy about it.
