At least about 8 yrs ago my b/f died in a car accident. I was in a really low place. My niece didn't want me staying alone, so her boyfriend at the time brought his dogs over to take care of me. These dogs didn't look like pits, not that I would have cared. In the morning I had a dog blanket. She took good care of me, I guess I didn't have enough blankets for her taste. She stayed w/me for couple days. If I could afford a pit, I get one.

If you can't afford decent fencing and shelter for your dog, why own a Pitt? Or any dog, really... Make sure your dog is safe at all times, and that includes making sure your garden is safe so he can't get out, and other dogs can't get in. Simple.

My dog is an old lab mix who is about 10. If someone came near me, or my home or children and he did not know them, or they came to or near my yard he would attack. A man came to close to my daughter in our yard and he nipped the guy in the leg. Dogs are naturally instinctive to protect their owners and family. It is the cruel individuals who train their dogs to fight, those humans should be put down. They are criminals and evil.

I have a pit bull and she's played with other pit bulls and small little lap dogs. She even let a Jack Russel completely take over her bed and all she did was try to lick him. Pit bulls are just unlucky, I guess, for being picked as a fighting breed.

The FACTS are, that pit bulls are not inherently aggressive in temperament; no, that is caused by irresponsible owners and neglect/abuse.

SECONDLY, they are used in dog fighting and by arrogant, ignorant youths with no regard or respect for morality because they are extremely loyal, and will do anything to please their owner, and have a very high pain tolerance.

My dog, who is part Staff and part Pit, lets the rabbits run all over them, tolerates swipes (WITH her claws out) from the cat in his face and ignored a tiny sausage dog who bit him. I will admit I always kinda believed the hype about pit bulls, but vids like this kinda show me that it's not always smart to believe only what you see in the news. They don't report on the good stuff about pit bulls - like when they protect humans like any other dog. Can't say I wouldn't be nervous if I met one but I like to think that at least I would now have an open mind.

His son was playing next to the street, and this young guy was going too fast around the corner. The dog pulled the kid away just in time. When the driver got out of the car to check on the kid, the dog wouldnt let that guy anywhere NEAR the child.

this breed thing pisses me off because we have two imported street dogs from over seas and they've attacked numerous dogs and two people and they haven't even been quarantined for being dangerous or even considered to be put down.. it makes me mad just for a darn breed, when so many other dogs do the same and yet they are left off with nothing or with a small warning.

Its not the dogs that are aggressive its the irresponsible people owning these dogs who dont have the slightest clue how to socialize, and train them.
