wondering if anyone would use arbeit macht frei in any other language - he or she would be shouted being a "nazi" ? i'm not a German, but im tired of seeing how people call Germans "nazis" even 66 years after the regime was destroyed. same sad to see how people call Russians a communists. heh stupid stereotypes and narrow minded people.

What was the first panzer? It look like a Panzer III with skirt armor, or I just mistaken it a Panzer IV?

The first three tanks when the ´Title written in golden letters appears are PanzerII, Panzer IV Ausf. C and Panzer I...probably in Poland

The panzer III is used in the game in different versions (from Ausf. F with 2 coaxial MG34 to the Ausf. M with special Armorupgrades). You wont have the chance to use the PzIII in Poland because your Division has the placeholding Pz38(t) and the Pz35(t). Especialy the first one does a good job.

You will also find PzIV Ausf. C and PzII in the first mission...the game is great even if its game play is hard for noobs of the genre. To me its fun to face "real" problems of the 2ndWW like T34!

Panzer 38t and 35t are pretty good for a light tank. But I can't distinguish them from Panzer I,II & III in this game. They look pretty same to me.

Are we talking about ToW here? Because PzI, PzII and PzIII Ausf. F are extremly different to the 35/38...35 is pretty old even in early war while Pz38(t) does a good job with its 50mm frontarmor and the 37mm cannon. Only its ammo of only 19(?) AP shots is a bit too less. When you get the PzIIIAusf.F you got over 50shots, a 5man crew but less armor. The look of the tanks is different look reaaaal close if you dont see it. their use is also quite different. Have a nice day

I see. Theater of War look kinda interesting after what I heard from you. Yeah I recently saw these tanks in from other game video and easily know which one which. What do you mean by "19 AP is a bit too less" ? Is this game also got limited ammo as well as fuel? Won't that be tough to play?

Fuel is not limited but you have a limit of ammo for both inf and tanks. You can pick up weapons of fallen enemys for your soldieres. Its quite tough to play but its fun (as i mentioned before) to face the problems in the game (like killing 14 tanks with 3 tigers in a few minutes with M. Wittmann In VBocage)

I played the Men of War yesterday after the store say Theater of War is no longer available. Kinda sad but the game itself is pretty similar like armor rating limited range and abandon tank. But what I was surprise is that Panzer IV Aust G was easily beaten by Valentines, Crusaders and Grant Lees. Panzer III is proving obselete and the only thing that keep me from losing is the towed 88mm. And I was even surprise is that I can captured enemies tanks once they are abandon. Very tough but great!

Look at the tracks and wheels to differentiate them if the turret/gun doesn't give it away to you. Correct me if i'm wrong (it has been a while) but PzIVs have a longer chassis and 4 return rollers whereas the pzII and III have only 3 (the passive wheels holding up the returning bit of track. The 35/38t has a very large drive sprocket (and large wheel on the other side, forget the name) and narrow tracks. I believe they also have many exposed rivets if you looks close.

Nope, it was right on time. Ohh yeah, since you know about WWII tanks. Why during the Invasion of France, French tank such as the Char B1, a hybrid of tank and self propelled gun with heavy protection was not as effective as the lesser protected Panzer III? I know it was the Bliztkrieg wins the war, but they should have at least claim more tank casulties, but instead it fail to make any significant result. Why? Two guns, espiacially the 75mm hull gun can punch through thin panzer armor? Thanks!

It might look good on paper, a lot of things do,; unfortunately looking at a stat sheet of vehicle armour and so on tells you next to nothing about how effective it is. The Char B1 took far too long to design so by the time it was made all of the parts were obsolete and unreliable - you can tell from the shape it is a ww1 tank design. That is another thing, the shape is incredibly important - armour is just as much about angles as it is about thickness and the Char B1 presented a big easy target

Wow, I never thought of that. Yeah it look like a WWI tank with a small turrent on it. But it still heavily armed, a 37mm AT gun and a 75mm DP gun, or there is something missing?

Again, looking at just the diameter of the shell is fairly meaningless: the 75mm was a howtizer (as far as I know) and the French never did develop an effective anti-tank gun. the 37mm may have been enough to take on an early panzer but I don't honestly know. The whole design of the B1 was old and terrible, very slow, hard to turn, very tall and easy to spot. The French should leave engineering to their eastern neighbors and stick to what they are good at, sex and food :-p

Wow, if and french sees this they gonna be pissed, careful pal. But I know the Char B1 had two weakness, the 75mm is manned, loaded and fire by the driver. The tank would have been stationary. A sitting duck! But the real fatal weakness the Char B1 is like all WWII French tank is a one man turrent. The commander have to do everything! German panzer turent got 3 man crew, which fire faster without hindering the tank commanding. Now I understand why modern tanks use the principal of the panzers.

The most important reason why they were able to outmanuever the enemy was that ALL german tanks had radios. just imagine what advantages that gives to the commander.
