but the equipment will not take to much abuse as the fader will let go and so will the needles.......I wouldnt say that the decks are that bad as I have had a go on some of them and found them ok....
In my mobile unit I use the VMX-1000 with the Numark DDS (or D2 director as previously known in early generations) on lines 1 & 2, the American DJ 500 CD players, on lines 3 & 4, and my laptop with Traktor pro on line 5 and I have never had an issue plus I love the simplicity of the VMX-1000's interface. I also use a pair of Mackie HD 1531's which can fill any room or an arena (LF is about 650-700W RMS and 1800W peak)
I've just got myself the vmx1000, just getting into djing, can you tel me what amp I'll need to run audio through it? I've got GEmini's SA600, 600w speakers do I need an amp? any recommendations?
i have these same turntables since 2000 and have been good to me, never crapped out on me. I also have a Behringer mixer that hasn't gotten out on me, however, I've probably only used it about 20 times.
Because BEHRINGER isn't a type of top quality equipment manufacturer. Decent quality yes, but prone to crap out on you whenever they want, yes. Many people who have used BEHRINGER products will say that if you're looking for a piece of gear to invest into for the long run, this won't do, maybe 1-3 months to learn on max, but no further, because it'll probably just die on you. I say it's like legalized gambling, and you'll get what you pay for.
Ummm.. I really have my eye on the VMX-1000 though. Haven't the money for Pioneers or equipment of that price. I've had cheaper mixers than behringers that have lasted me a long time.
If that's your budget, I recommend an American Audio Q-D5 MKII, it's pro quality that fits your budget. It's just like a Rane TTM-56. But if you need more than 2 channels, then I guess you could go with that for the moment.
I haven't got any problems of reliability with behringer products actually I don't think that's the bad side of them, audio quality is not the same as in other brands and feeling is also not on par, but in the other hand you have a cheap product that can last forever, disregard the haters as much of them have never owned a proper equipment and talk just word of mouth.
youl get it in time mate, do yourself a favour and get a technics shex1200 mixer. That chunk o shit aint gonna do you no favours in the cuttin department. But then again it depends on how far you want to take it. If you wanna just mix n blend tracks and chuck out the odd bit of scratching then keep what ya got. Only it will restrict what your capabilites to progress with your scratch. peace bro
@ImaazeDa3th plug the cables into the phono on your mixer and ground the cable.
