This is so powerful and beautiful! I could not believe that the spirit of the Yellow River and its people were expressed so vividly and so precisely! The dance is so full of creativity and imagination!
If you think about it - a lot of the choreography is very simple. You see the same phrases in a lot of different spots. It's amazing how something that's so structurally simple can be so beautiful.
don't quite understand what the performers are trying to show, what idea they want to deliever....does it somehow have things to do with the yellow river?
I have seen the whole dance from a DVD ( The original version when it was first performed), I have also been to the live performance. As you said, it is just mind blowing, it touches you heart, this is the true art. Yao Yong is brilliant

I watched this tonight, a show by the Beijing Dance Academy in my hometown and this dance finished the show. It was MIND BLOWING beautiful.

We did this piece (Atlanta Chinese Dance Company). It's great to see the original version though. Beautiful!
