  • When her voice no longer soothes me, I'll be in the grave!

  • awesome. i teared up like a little girl.

  • She is incredible talent. She can play different instruments, sing and write such beautiful songs.

  • Sara, do you ever sing "The Hand Song" anymore? I love that one!

  • There just could not be anything more beautiful. For those wondering about the instrument, it's a low-G ukulele tuned a step down to Bb. This is her normal setup for ukulele, in solo material and in the Nickel Creek days.

  • This is my favorite version of this song. So good.

  • While delving for recent J.Hartford posts, I run into Sara. *staggers backwards, then catches breath*... Pure... Beautiful... Real...

  • I just found out that I missed an opportunity to see her live at MSU Meridian. grrr...

  • 3 dislikes? What on earth were they expecting?

  • @burpo It is a heavy song, not her normal sense of optimism. I bet the dislikes felt it was a bit too down. It is a wonderful song though, honest, sincere, her wonderful heartfelt sound really is a heart tugging force. It is blues of the most touching kind.

  • simply beautiful

  • This makes me want to give her a big hug.

  • In addition to being one of the most sadly beautiful songs I've ever heard, it is the most heartfelt performance of a song that I've ever seen.

  • I'd take her fragile, broken, imperfect voice over any overthetop Idol-er

  • it looks like she is going to burst into tears. not surprising.. a song this beautiful could only come from pain and honesty

  • Who wouldn't want to see her face every day???

  • Beautiful.

  • voice of an angel, touches my heart and breaks it, I can't stop playing it, thank you

    Sara

  • she tweeted me last night. winning

  • THIS IS WHAT GOOD SONG WRITING IS ALL ABOUT, Really touching peoples most personal and intimate feelings, Just read the comments, WOW what a great solo performance as well. Thanks for posting it

  • GOOD SONG AND GOOD VIDEO !

  • She is soooooo incredibly talented, she can hum 10x better than i can sing!! Not to mention how freakin gorgeous she is!!!!

  • i've listened to this over and over and over. wonderful. love it. keep it up :)

  • ......... a bright and shining star.......rising to the top of the heap....... just be sure the view from the top....... was worth the climb.

God bless, rjb san jose, ca.

  • I remember seeing her a long long time ago in Kentucky. :)

  • I just listened to this song like 50 times in a row. I would do anything for a girl like her

  • She should put her heart in all the song she does. Like she does on this one, and she be a great singer. No Alison Kruass, but a great singer.

  • keep coming back to this vid :) Big Fan here!!!

  • My one and only wish in this world is to be that ukulele!!

  • home

  • Beautiful, as are you. Your music reminds me a little of Tom Rush->high praise. But it is also distinctively yours too.

  • Great song and musician. But not the song to be listening to when your going thru an unwanted divorce.

  • I ❤ her

  • she is amazing she is like an actress

  • I hope God made more than one model. Beautiful on every level. How could anyone have any negative feedback where this woman is concerned?

  • so far; I'm hopelessly in like with her.... where would I be if I met her?

  • Love this song

  • This song gave me chill bumps. How hauntingly sad yet beautiful. It's like how a parent might feel letting go of a child who's leaving home for the first time.

  • @lottiesdad my thoughts exactly..you can see so much hurt on her face as the thought of each lyric comes to mind..i know that look.

  • @lottiesdad Thank you , well put and just where I am right now.

  • I love this song and actually prefer this version to the one on the album.

  • Very nice.....from a fellow Watkins

  • LOVE HER!

    She's so awesome!!!!

  • Very pretty voice, but I'm worried about "ddoublled" thinking she is the most "beautiful girl in the world". She's not even the most beautiful girl in the room....she's just a really good singer....try to control yourself "ddoublled"

  • @sandmanmac beautiful means lots of things--a shallow perception of the word beautiful may not pick up on the many layers of beauty this woman has wrapped around her. besides, ddoublled can think whomever he wants to is #1. maybe we're all "worried" that sandmanmac is so "worried" about other people's likes and dislikes---perhaps it shows a little overcompensation for personal shame and shortcomings, eh sandmanmac?

  • @martenfox

Perhaps "you" are a little too worried about "my Likes and dislikes" that YOU'RE over-compensating......hmmmmm...How ironic..... Admit it ...she just simply isn't that hot, that's all I'm saying

  • @sandmanmac Not a bad retort! Not bad at all.....you even get bonus points for

using the word ironic in a truly (albeit theoretical) ironic

context...but you really just repeated what I said, so you do lose

points in the creativity department. Don't be so hard on yourself

though, sport, you'll get 'em next time!

You do realize that she is literally the only woman in the room in

    this video, right?

Just makes your main statement a little weak, that's all I'm saying-

  • @sandmanmac

If I saw her on the street, then no, I wouldn't be blow away. But good googly moogly, that voice, plus the heart and soul that she puts into her singing? Yeah, it makes her much more attractive than the latest zero personality Hollywood starlet of the hour (Megan Fox anyone?).

But then again, I'm kinda like a girl. There's so much more to beauty than looks.

  • @sandmanmac Beauty not in the eyes of the beholder?

  • Shes great

  • You sound like an angel.

  • Beautiful! *****

  • Thrilled to see Nickel Creek's fiddler and vocalist, Sara Watkins, when I put on the last few minutes of a late show 2nite! I know I picked a heart-breaking song to share, but it made me think of a young fb friend who needs to know she's not alone...
