ppl that play starcraft are pretty intelligent... but at the time of playing with friends on lan our intelligence can be replaced with desperation... setting up a turney must be a lot of multitasking!
I was also exposed to a similar gaming environment, and as a result, came very close to failing at life. Luckily, the skill set gained from mastering starcraft happens to be the same skills required to operate an institutional trading desk.
i like how the one guy is playing with a desktop keyboard attached to his laptop. yeah i play on ICCUp but sometimes i lose just because some guy in russia is laggin me up so badly i cant muta harras
fraction: a part as distinct from the whole of anything; portion or section
in this case my computer can draw as much as 500 watts (not counting display) but this is not typical... similarly, a laptop can draw 100 or more watts, but will probably run lower than that (in the 70-80 watt range depending on everything)
the cpu, harddrive and the wifi use the most power but since starcraft lets the cpu and hdd practically idle I think you're looking at fairly close to baseline consumption
Only if you check the cpu throttling plus you can have some apps on background active like flash on web or virus scan. Your battery could be charging if it's not full. Also count the adapters efficiency which I guess is about 70%. Then you can get pretty high even with just starcraft.
I'd like how know how you WON'T blow the fuse.

Don't try this at home.
Not if you care for your PC.

Isn't it bad to have that many things plugged into one outlet... I mean I've never tried but there is definitely something wrong with that -_-.

people don't realize university wiring and home wiring are very different
and you all seem to be forgetting that everyone's playing on a laptop, which draws a fraction of the power a desktop would
omgLordLituslol 2 years ago 3
but from the outlet its kinda home wiring... define the fraction, the laptop adapter can easily draw 100W if not more, they aren't so efficient

Vlakpage 2 years ago
adapters generally operate in the high 80s, like 85%+ (some are 90%)
and I was assuming people are just playing starcraft, so no virus scanners, defragmenting, etc
anyway, point is still don't try this at home

you are going to blow that outlet gg

did this blow out the socket? I am really surprised that worked.
bored719 2 years ago
Oh god, you guys need to invest in some twist ties and learn about proper cabling procedures!
If you can't wire your own CAT5 you should not be playing with wires!
On a side note, 20 computers into one outlet is a major fire hazard... too much amps = heat = fire
First?
coolstream1 2 years ago
that's like 20 amps minimum? also great setup for ground loops
