This is a stunning piece of music from Pilot, the guitar solo alone --wow !!! --just really does it for me , Ian Bairnson at his best . I have the Album Morin Heights and had almost forgotten how good it was --and especially this track. Wonderful stuff --Thanks guys x
Gazzy... We can all greatly appreciate 10cc, but you are completely off time wise by the implication that this was heavily influenced by them.
This all-time fantastic PILOT album predates drummer Tosh joining 10cc and is far more a testament to the influence of The Beach Boy's Pet Sounds, Beatles' Rubber Soul and Sergent Pepper, Pink Floyd's Dark Side and the soon to be Alan Parson's Project - which was in large part PILOT, act 2, in the words of Alan himself.
I played this tremendous album continuesly in 1976. In 2009 it still sounds fantastic ! Perfect pop/rock with a 10cc/Fabs influence. "Trembling" & "Maniac" are real gems. An album that has stood the time test, it has just been re-issued, give it a spin, one will not be dissapointed. 5 stars.
Def my fav Pilot Album. Ok the (big UK) hits were on 1st 2 albums, but Morin Heights is just so good to listen to, the way the songs follow on and eventually finishing off with "Too Many Hopes". tolip61 summed it up perfect in her first sentenc. It sits in my cabinet beside: Dark Side Of the Moon; Sergeant Pepper; Argus; Hotel California; Urban Hymns; War of the Worlds; All of Led Zeppelin and a few Deep Purple. Maybe not all great bed fellows, but all great talented bands.
This album really is a classic...and it is such a shame that it didn't get the air play that it deserved...BUT us True Pilot fans know it is a ripper and so that's all that matters...
This song bring emotions of 70's !!!

There also seems to be a lot of influence from progressive rock... Great song.
