  • US needs to get rid of the SBR and SBS stupid laws.

  • I'll give you $100 for that gem.

  • @huntnharleys Let's see how the gem does next time out and then just maybe we can work it into some kind of trade plus $100...I could really use a nice TC set up! Ya know where I can get one! =)

  • @rugersix sorry for all the trouble you've been having with that. As you know, most firearms brand new require some kind of break in before they start running like butter. But this, seems defective.

one thing about surplus firearms...no break in required...just wipe off the cosmoline and load her up.

  • @Alexn1067 No worries I think I'll get it narrowed down here.after the next outing, but it's looking like my mag springs are to stiff and when full may be causing all the feed/bolt issues. Less rounds in the mags next time out...polished the bottom of the bolt were the metal contacts and pulled and cleaned the extractor! Next time will be closer to 500 break-in if problems still continue will call the factory! Thanks for the sub btw! =)

  • Hey there! Working to much and shooting too little. I have broke in more than one firearm that didn't function properly for the first 200-500 round's. Because I'm a big reloader ammo is alway's an issue. Thank's for another straight up video, Ya just gotta laugh sometimes!

  • @kalibur50ae Yes indeed know the feeling! Second time out I'm confident will be different God willing! =)

  • Hey Harry! It's nice place for fun shooting! =)

    There a cold weather now?

  • @Vlad357russiangunner We got snow about three days later! Now we have rain melting it all!

  • @rugersix I love rain, but warm and sun love more))

  • Heter's Select .45 ACP works well, too. Ran it through my 1911 and had good results with accuracy and loading.

  • FYI.... We load 124gr. bullets, almost exclusively, unless someone orders otherwise. We've found that the heavier bullet is more reliable to cycle, from gun to gun. The extra recoil weight helps greatly. Keep sendin' that lead downrange!!!

  • @TheDiamondback73 And so do you have said website??? =) I just purchased some 124 and some 174 to spin up next outing! I totally agree with what you are saying! Thanks for dropping by! =)

  • @rugersix Sorry, don't have a web page. It's a small company, here in Mo., but we do pride ourselves in our quality of product. We also limit the line of calibers we load to the most popular handgun & rifle needs. I feel. we'd rather do, what we do, to the higher quality, than a bunch of things half way. BTW.... The Federal ammo, you used in the vid, isn't junk. Just not the right load for your application. ;-)

  • @TheDiamondback73 Ahh okay! Well the junk comment comes from my frustration it worked flawlessly in my Tanfoglio the remainder of the shoot. But...I have had issues with it in other guns in the past...but for the price it's target loads and to be expected.

  • I thought uzis fired from an open bolt

  • @Gunnslinger50 The SMG version is fired from an open bolt. There are also open bolt conversions to semi-auto. This one is a closed bolt design...suppose to be best for the semi-auto versions.

  • Thanks for the mention brother! Sweet gun man!

  • @ShepherdDawg No...Thank You! =)

  • Just found your channel, love your weapons connected to Israel, that's a country that needs to have good quality weapons that go bang every time. Nice vid

  • @123karismith Thanks for dropping by much appreciated!

  • @rugersix You bet, I subbed.

  • Very Nice.

  • @OilTheGun Thanks...should be even nicer next time out! =)

  • all i can say harry is i want a go!! great vid

  • @joshboy1st Oh Yeah....Better vid to follow! (I hope) LOL =D

  • The Uzi is made to shoot NATO spec ammo. I am sure if you shoot 147 grain ammo it will run like a champ. I checked Wolff springs and all the had were mag springs. :(

  • @rugersix. You might have to find a lighter recoil spring to run the lightweight ammo. Try Wolff gun springs. I also would suggest running the action wet during the break in.

  • @plumberjoe80 I see no go on the lighter recoil spring....no problem will stick with what it has! I 124 and 174 9mm on order so...I'm a bit more optimistic the next time out! Thanks for the tip my friend!

  • @rugersix sorry to see the UC9 not working but your rugersix you will make it work lol goodluck harry its a fine piece and thanks for sharing

  • @redmule02 Ahh...no worries we will win this battle!!!! New Ammo on the way and feed ramp polished!!! =)

  • belew, lolz

  • sorry to see all the bugs you are having with it. I am sure you will get that UZI running better on the next outing.

  • @yoavdotan22 Thats just how it runs sometimes...just like life nothings perfect! =)

  • Man, that carbine looks awesome! Very nice!

  • @pukkepop Thanks Bart!!! =)

  • My UC-9 won't cycle 115 grain. Must use 125 grain. The UZI loves hot ammo.

I have 900 rds through my UC-9 and the only problem I have had is with 115 grain ammo. I have the best luck with 125 grain Winchester Ranger.

    J.W

  • @1crimm Thanks for the info on yours...I was looking at Winchester Ranger as an option!

This one needs many more rounds through it! Thanks again! I'll watch your vid later...off to work now!

  • Newbonzo will get that UC runnin' right, lol. Good video, keep us updated.

  • @glynn72 No he'll wait until I get it running right and then shoot all my ammo!!! LOL =)

  • Keep in mind Herters was once a great company, that box that says Herters, thats not the original Herters.

  • @quimbyt Well it actually worked more consistently than the Federal Champ. So that says something about it.

  • @rugersix I don`t know I never used it but I have heard some bad things and I know an indoor range that wont allow Herters ammo. But if it worked.

  • Try military surplus ammo see if that works.

  • @quimbyt Thanks!

  • Nice! Glad to see you out shooting it. Funny thing is I never had a issue with the Federal bulk stuff. Granted I don't own a Uzi to compare.

I would check cabelas out, they sometimes have deals on that Seller ammo.

  • @Gunsforfreedom Yeah the S&B ammo actually came from Cabela's! LOL The Federal bulk stuff fed just fine in the Tanfoglio...the UZI bolt workings is pretty heavy to blow-back so I do think it requires something with a bit more thump! Thanks for watching!

  • Hey Ruger, thanks for showing us the UC-9. Y'know with that 16" barrel on, it looks like it's got a classic case of barrel droop, sort of like one of my break barrel pellet guns has. Does it shoot low, by any chance? I'm not saying it does or doesn't, it just sort looks like it. Maybe it's the shroud that makes it look that way. Great piece! We're all richer from having seen it. Blessings, my friend.

  • @sabr686 Thanks for watching my friend! I don't think there is a bbl droop issue...it may be the shroud or camera angle. I think it was shooting way high! It needs a little fine tuning, but I'm sure we will have a better Test 2!!! God Bless!

  • I really like the 16" barrel on it. Is there a new law preventing the shorter ones?

  • @lolrofl5 It depends here on what state you live in. Some states you can apply for a tax stamp that would make the short barrel legal. Here in this state it would not be legal and you can not even apply to make it so.

  • Sorry to see you have such a time on your first outing with the UC-9. Hopefully you can work the bugs out of it without too much trouble. I shall be waiting on field test 2. Hope it's soon! =-)

  • @OneMansSanctuary It's all good...teaches on patience =) We're not done with this yet! Field Test 2 could be 2-3 weeks out depending on the weather and my on call work duties! =)

  • awesome video rugersix but who sings that song in the background of this video? thnx

  • @stealthppk Thanks! Group: Verdict Album: Hold'em High Song: A Curse

  • you may need to make a modification to the top cover on the back side for your bolt to freely move more ( maybe)

  • @lordofwar2006 I really don't think that's the issue, but we will know more the second time out.

  • ★★★★★

    Cool vid.

  • Once you get about 500 rounds through it she will loosen up nicely. My UC9 love Tula(Herters tan box) ammo. With this Tula I can shoot ragged holes at 45 yards. I had some feeding problems with mine at first but now she is totally reliable. Your front sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. If you can't get a factory sight tool then use a Gerber multi tool pliers to loosen the locking ring and rotate the sight post up or down and left to right. Kids love to shoot mine at the range Shalom.

  • @texaskidzuk Thanks my friend...I felt thee same way that another 400 rounds aand things might loosen up a bit. Also, thanks for the tip on the sights...I got confused on that because I original thought is was adjusted for both and then thought I was wrong! I have a type A sight adj tool that should work. Shalom!

  • Maybe the federal rounds are not crimped enough... Either way I love my uzi. lucky for me it was sights on from the start. winchester white box works very. Hotter 124 grain nato should work well too. I have yet to try hollow points. Imagine the muzzle velocity boost plus a JHP.... and 32 rounds = NASTY.

  • winchester white box cycled fine for me. Lighter loaded handloads 124 grain at around 1050FPS "out of a pistol" Cycled mine fine however the brass was not hucked as far. I would really suggest polishing your feed ramp and extractor, and to also check extractor tension and make sure that there is at least some tension. I am not a big fan of sellor and bellot "long story" but it should be loaded a little bit hotter. If your spents are being thrown as far in the video then its not a power issue.

  • @Dietzeeeee Thanks for all the tips and good info Ditzeeeee...I did polish the feed ramp as mentioned in the vid. The extractor claw still needs to be done. You may have a point on the crimping of the FED Champion it would not always feed period. I also think that after about 500rds thingss will loosen up a bit. Remember your the gunsmitty...I'm not! lol =)

  • cool video. the gun looks cool 2.

  • @natonorway Thanks I really like it!

  • sorry it didn't go well dude. i would think breaking in is a good possibility for fixing these issues. love the Ruger mug. i have one as well. i drink out of my Glock one though. lol. take care and good luck friend.

  • @megajeeplover No worries that's just life! I'll have a better outing next time out...this test answered a few questions! Did you say glo....LOL =)

  • This is a good gun . Like you said, needs hotter rounds . If you got an inexpensive reloader with a thumb screw powder measure, you could load to produce accuracy and reliability specific to that UZI. Good video , real life happenings.

  • @MrRichardbryan I totally agree with you...got some hotter stuff on the way! Would like to get a good solid 500 rounds through here to break-in! Thanks for commenting much appreciated!

  • Your video reminds me of the problems I had with my ak 74. Lucky it seemed to be only an issue with just one of my mags, any other I run through it have no problems. Hope you sort out your gun soon. Good luck.

  • @ats882 Well isn't it real life...if we didn't have problems we would never know how to solve issues! =) Thanks!

  • Slidefire stocks are a great way to go for AR's & AK's

  • Have you seen the Sterling?

  • @danman911 I've seen pics but a bit leary of them, don't know much about them. Why do you have one?

  • @rugersix I dont own a Sterling, but have shot one, and it was great. I couldnt believe how accurate it was. Low priced also.

  • JERICHO...case closed!

  • @rugersix roger that!

  • Tangfoglio vs Jericho...whats the verdict rugersix?

  • Yay! A rugersix vid! Made my day!

  • hey rugetsix I believe Hickok45 was having the same issue with the value pack ammo in his full auto 9mm UZI you may want to check his channel. Leave the mags loaded for a while that may help them. Great video, always nice to see the honest videos from users.

  • @cplbullet Hmm...yeah I think there might be something to that! I have some new ammo on order so we will see how it does! Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • nice

  • @petrwarry72 Thank You Sir!

  • You sounded like Art Bell on your intro... Looks like the UC-9 is a picky eater. Good luck and I look forward to future vids on it.

  • @L00kin4ward That's what it looks like! We will find out when my new ammo arrives!

  • It may need the heaver bullet to cycle being new. You could look at where the bolt rides and think about doing some polishing there it might help with cycling the 115gr rounds. Look forward to the next shooting video with this great gun.

  • @henrycems Thanks! We will see how it functions next time out with new ammo!

  • Hi Harry,

Looking like this the barrel is not even that ugly. the 124 s&b's or if you wanna go lite you could try the fiocchi 115 gr. Those are quite 'hot'. Mine prefers the 124 hot loads. open bolt.....

    Very nice vid man. Cya

  • @robin6512 Hey! Thanks for the tip! I did order some ammo and some heavier grain stuff so we will see what happens!

  • nice vid man

  • @PolishedTurd4Life Thanks!!!

  • Hope you work out the feeding issues with the ammo and the sight adjustment. I am watching your progress closely as I consider picking up my UC-9. Good luck friend.

  • @RedRocketArms I'm sure it will work out just fine the sight adjustment is now big deal and it fed great with the 124 grain ammo so we will see. Might be two or three weeks before I can get it out again, but we will see. Thanks!

  • I wonder if the 9mm nato loading would work better?

  • @Gungeek I'm sure it would because it is 124 grain bullet if I'm not mistaken!

  • its begging for an SBR stamp

  • @paintballdude902 It is, but I don't think I'm even eligible to apply for it in this state! (WA.)

  • @rugersix Correct, unless registered before 1994 SBR and SBS are illegal in WA. You need to move or join your local gun lobby and hope for the best!

  • @rugersix epic fail. what part of washington do you live? i spent just over a month in spokane for SERE training august-september 2011

  • @paintballdude902 I'm on the liberal side of the mountains!

  • What's the cost on this? ? Thanks for the Vid

  • @spiritartman I paid about $850 when it was all said and done! I did get mine online so there was a bit more expense.

  • a friend of mine had a .45 cal uzi i got to shoot. i must say i didn't really like it, it stovepiped a lot and the muzzle climb was pretty formidable. they do look really cool though.

  • Great vid! I wonder what the ammo issue was about! GOD BLESS!

  • Ah so that's the Pinocchio nose you were talking about. Seems okay to me.

  • Man this thing is awesome
