  • 2:43 , dude that guitar lick is so tight you could sing it. best band in the world

  • guitar riff 2:17 in nothing bettur

  • Just pure class

  • what a phat bassline!!! Awesome!

  • love the fro......

  • Go wan Philo, go wan the Lizzy!!!

  • Master Piece.

  • Two of the greatest lead guitarists on the earth. This band could go up against most bands today and kick their fuckin ass!! Thin Lizzy rules! Been a fan since 1976!! Long live Lizzy!!

  • my fav bassist :O

  • They're dancing like KISS in the ending ! :D

  • or more accurately KISS was dancing like Thin Lizzy.

  • @rkc415 This came out in 79, and KISS did it in 75 so...

  • I'm only 32 years old, so i was just barely "aware" of Thin Lizzy growing up. It's a band I've completely ignored. What a mistake! I'm a bassist, and this is definitely a band that should have been on my radar over the years! What a great group, and an amazing bassist/singer!

  • Thank classic rock radio for destroying my impressions of Thin Lizzy.

  • Yeah...good old ThinLizzy!

  • ThinLizzy simply rules....

  • the good old days!!!!

    F'n rock'n band!!!

  • Does anybody know what guitar scott is using in this vid????

  • Looks like they are both playing Gibson Les Paul other than that I couldnt be more specific as to what year they are

  • his '59 les paul standard. nice

  • likely a Les Paul special with mini buckers, that was his thing.

  • The one and only Thin Lizzy !!!

  • I love this song!

  • Excellent bassline!

  • Thanks God for Thin Lizzy !!

  • Snack Bar QUB...remember this one? And then King's Hall concert 1980.......Awesome.

  • Gorham and Moore and Robertson man,... just damn!

  • in the words of sir bod geldof "Phil lynott was a rockstar from 6 o clock in the morning to 6 o clock in the morning " R.I.P PHIL LYNOTT

  • 2:41

  • Uma exelente banda, todo mundo que diz gostar de rock tem que conhecer o Thin Lizzy. É uma pena que estes músicos magistrais não terem todo o reconhecimento que merecem.

  • dont you just love them. Classic rock that rocks!!

  • One of the all time best bands ever in the history of music. Up there with the beatles and RUSH. No pretense. Just in it for the music, and they just happened to be cool when they did it

  • yea thats right and they were so underated. He was such a dude PHil Lynott. Compare that to the jerkoff music we have today

  • Hmmmm... I don't mind Rush - don't listen to them much at all now, but I think they're a bit behind Lizzy and well behind the Beatles. For starters - both Lizzy and the Beatles have female fans, something Rush sadly fails to ever do - they don't have a very wide appeal. Rush have this amazing ability to send females into a rage. My brother's wife banned him from ever playing Rush in the house. I would not go to a Rush concert expecting to pick up.

  • Thin Lizzy RULE ALL!! Best Irish band ever, although I suppose there'll probably be some people who'll dispute, they're Irish, supposse that's understandable, are they generally recognized as an Irish band around the world, or is it just Philly himself?

  • Methinks it was just Phil who was Irish :)

  • And Brian Downey and Eric Bell and Gary Moore

  • Best Irish band?. Lately i tend to think about them as best band ever in the world.

Man, i love Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Who, Sabbath, and all that shit...but Lizzy just overcomes me. If you talk to me about Lizzy my heart just comes out of my mouth.

  • RIP PHILL LYMOTT I wish i new how he

knows how mch he is ver ohd hie much

all of his fans, friends, and family miss

  • awesome guitaring!!!!!!!

  • Thin Lizzy are so R-O-C-K-I-N-G

    R.I.P Phil Lynott

  • the guitarist who isnt gary moore has a fab dress sense

and also check out garys solo stuff

  • He has a name. It's Scott Gorham.

  • Holy fuck Batman ????

  • Holy solo, Batman

  • I am spanish and live in england. I saw "thin lizzy" in manchester last year (only Scott Gorham remains from the original band). It is cult band for Spanish rockers. for me, they are amongst the "top ten" of all time great rock bands. SUPERB GUITARS.

  • i have this on dvd

  • Good to see Gary Moore before he started to take himself so seriously ! "Look mum I`m on telly!"Peace Ye`all !

  • Excellent songwriting, truly great band.

  • Kick ass song, from bad reputation disc I was lucky enough to see them with phil back in 1977. I always liked the guitarists tone playing dual leads. gary moore is an equal match to replace brian robertson

matching these intricate dual leads with scott gorham.

  • 'Waiting For An Alibi' is off 'Black Rose', not 'Bad Rep'. Also the only studio album with Gary Moore on guitar, not counting his guesting on 'Nightlife'.

  • Phil Lynott, fantastic bass man......

  • yeah fantastic bass and ass!

  • Yeah you gotta admit - they bloodly rock. Listen to that funky fat bass.

Goddam legends. How big are these guys outside Ireland?

I see we have some spanish writing on the page - buenisimo

  • there massive outside ireland, id say just like my penis, but then i looked down my pants and didn`t see it again

  • Absolutely amazing phil will always live in our hearts R.I.P PHIL LYNOTT

  • love thin lizzy

  • One of my favs.

  • Its sad how under appreciated they are

that dual-lead guitar was genius, but they disbanded right when they metal scene in the 80s was gaining momentum. If they were around, maybe hair metal wouldn't have happened (oh, how the naive love to dream)

  • Rock n' Roll porra!

    Thin Lizzy é foda!

    É isso ai, o resto é o resto! [2]

    do caralho

  • Rock n' Roll porra!

    Thin Lizzy é foda!

    É isso ai, o resto é o resto!

  • me encanta

  • shag ya mum

  • Your place of birth determines your nationality unless you change your citizenship. Your ethnicity is your heritage.

  • I love this song.

I don't hate any music well except maybe techno but I love Classical to the most recent genre of music.

  • What a song tbh what a band nd yehh deffo the best irish band eva thin lizzy ftw :) RIP PHIL

  • This is fucking rock & roll in case you were wondering!

    RIP PHIL

  • awesome some but bizarre video

  • 3:50→X 3:15→○

  • Master piece!! Love so much how Scot Goham looks on

    3:50.

  • They aint a 3:50 dumb ass prick!

  • Das war die beste Liveband aller Zeiten

  • And you swallow the sloppy seconds, so stfu.

  • go fuck your grandma child malester...

  • What are you talking about? And if i were a child mOlester, why would i fuck my grandma? -_-

  • How old r u? f**kin 11? listen to pop music? have more respect ya McTosser if you don't like it keep your snotty nosed opinions to yourself cos we don't give a shit!

  • bar the fact you suck... how can you actually justify that statement? they wrote some of the most catchy tunes ever and phil lynott is the definition of a legend. they are the best irish band ever and an all round emmense outfit!

  • they used to play in a pub around the corner from where my dad used to live.

    apparently.

    =]

  • Absurd and sublime at the same time - that's what classic rock is all about.

  • Thin Lizzy is a orgasmic dream!

  • this songs is wicked im learning it on guitar and i still dnt recon ill be able to play the solo as fast as gary moore.

  • Don't feel so bad, I learned this song, solo included, when it came out and I still cant play it like Gary Moore.

Then again it is Gary Moore were talking about

  • i totally agree with the opinions on here, this really is fantastic rock, early rock, my this is a wee bit before my time, my father used to listen to lizzy when i was about 4 or 5 and know im re visiting it. It seems that there are no bands that make this kind of music now, its indie or metal or some other rubbish, the only other band like this is the darkness and their away now!

  • Gotta love that bass line

  • That was real rock......

  • seen them live in edinburgh in 1980 managed to meet phil . awesome

  • Gorham, Robertson, Downey, Lynnot

    any questions..?

  • yes was there a better band ever i dont think so if you want to look like a rock band this is what you should look like

  • If there be gods, they look and sound like these blokes. They don't make 'em like they used to.

  • Ano i was just thinking that what happned to ROCK. Did it turn Metal...? Or did it turn Indi...? Or emo? or screamo? or death metal?

TO Be honest i really don't Know but i Want ROCK BACK!

  • You're right... I was ten when this song came out. I saw it once on TV. I've seen a lot since, and loved much of it. But now, I see that this stuff beats it all.

  • Top drawer rock

  • R I P Phil Lynott love and miss u very much.

Gary Moore love u . xxxxxxxxxx

  • Gorham and Moore on guitars, what more needs to be said? Maybe one of the best Tin Lizzy songs ever? PERFECTION!

  • The twin Guitar harmoneys are fantastic on this song! Up Thin Lizzy!

  • kickass bass, dude!

  • These guys were fucking awesome- great tune!!!

  • are fucking awesome.

  • Perhaps Thin Lizzys, best song, and ,i think, the best line up, with Moore and Gorham?

  • ah, they're all good line-ups. Let it rock!

  • from wich year is this? cause this doesn't look like other videoclips from the 70'

  • 1979

  • What a feeling !!!!!

  • this song is so full of emotion man,.....i want my thin lizzy man!, why did your have to go phil?

  • Black Rose is a great Lizzy album. Gary Moore rocks. Phil is missed but his music lives on! thanks for the video post!

  • Too bad this band isn't around anymore. What a loss for music. Long live Thin Lizzy!

  • R.I.P Phil , your excelent music still lives on .

  • This is pure rock!

    Thin lizzy rules!!!!!!!

  • While I rate Gary Moore as one of the best in the business - in the context of Lizzy - Scott Gorham is the Guitarist that defines the band and it its best and brightest era. Jailbreak has to rate as one of the best pieces of rock vinyl ever - from start to finish it is a stone cold classic! Met him too - a very cool guy who stopped to chat and have a photo taken. Kudos Scotty.

  • Some one once said Never meet your heros .. ...its bull shit!

Scott was allways my fav after phil but i got to meet him last christmas and it was only then i saw how much of a down to earth cool rockstar he realy is he stood for photos and he signed my jailbreak Vinyl and was a realy friendley guy and he's now forever one of my all time heros

  • the Hellacopters, even the Darkness were a great guitar band for a second. but i agree with jsbach40 that NOBODY today even comes close to having the style or talent that Phil and the boys had. everybody is too busy growling and making a friggin' racket.

  • this song is one of Lizzy's best- hands down. Gorham's licks are tasty as ever and anyone who ever questions Moore ability have em'listen to this. what a f@#kin' RIPPER!

  • Gary Moore is my hero, yes the damn best guitarist in the world.

  • I defy any of today's band to dare take the stage after Lizzy in their prime. Listen to those guitars... An absolute stormer of a song.

  • What A Badass Video!!!! Badass music, Badass stage presence 4 great musicans. Killer video!

  • Old Gregg!

  • Lol Reece yeh listen to the song and know hes Irish

  • just listen 2 the god dam song

  • Y do fuck heads argue in the comment no one shud care as long as the musics good

  • phil was born english but died irish

  • nicccce..

  • breath-taking super-band

  • At the end of the day, we're all the same, human beings! Why can't everyone just be nice to each other and the world would be a much better place. I came to comment on this video and find everyone bickering, stop it for heaven sake and be nice people. Oh yeah, the reason I came to comment, I love this song and Gary's guitaring is excellent. One of the greatest guitarists ever along with Carlos Santana and numerous others that I don't wanna bore you with.

  • gary moore was and still is the greatest guitarist on the planet PERIOD

  • phil was english, big deal, im irish and i can say it doesnt matter. fuck hitler was austrian but people think hitler = germany. and most people prob think phil lynot= irish, but its not important. its just music for christ sake

  • You're absolutely right, it is just music. The best music ever. But listen to Roisín Dubh,Emerald or Whiskey in the jar and tell me Phil was English.

  • Exactly firestarter. Not to mention Eire, Old Town, Shades of a Blue Orphanage and numerous others :)

  • metallica also play whiskey

    are they irish?

  • No. They did that cover for Phil Lynott, who was Irish.

  • you sir, are a cunt.

    go die

  • Yet again, another intelligent comment from Reece(sarcasm). Still, I wasn't expecting much from that idiot.

  • haha.

you've got some fire in ya dont you?

    such a shame.

1,000,000 sperm, you were the quickest.

    wow

  • Wow, that was fucking retarded. There really is no hope for you, is there?

  • littlefirestarter is a twat. what a fucking cunt. just mixing it up a bit there

  • Whatever you say. I've had enough arguing.

  • Whatever about where he was born, Phil was fiercely proud of his IRISH heritage, and if anyone asked, was IRISH through and through, listen to the songs, he spent his time studing Irish history, and immersed in Irish culture, remember, he could have lived in the UK, if he wanted to, but HE considered himself IRISH, and thats where he loved to be.

  • Yep so true. Which is why its so funny a minority of people are trying to say he was English therefore represented England just cos he was born there. Weird :P

  • Yup, and in his own words, he'd hang himself before being English.

  • jimmo42, just because your born in a stable it doesn't make you a horse!

  • True, but in most cases being born in a particular country does make you a national of that country.

  • Very true, but just not in Phil's case.

  • yeah.

    finally someone who agrees.

  • Certainly one of the most kick ass songs man will ever hear. Thanks Phil.

  • LOVE This Band,If it wasnt for my brother turnining me on,God knows what I would be listning too? R.I.P Phil...

  • "Black Rose" probably the best album Lizzy ever made....and they made many great albums!

  • btw its "Waiting for an alibi"

  • haha reece got owned on this one. hehe * smug smile at reece

  • sure did ma man,

where were you, oh yeah, off suckin off a horse.

  • ??? Potatoes!!!! The music is more important and it doesn't get any better than this unless it's The Roisin Dubh!!!! We're Still Out Here xxxx.

  • hey its fuckin pricks like him that make the english the most hated race on earth, he can fuck off and eat his bacon and this is the best, except for, as the man said, Black Rose

  • Everytime I see Phil pointing his finger at the camera at the end of the song makes me regret not becoming a rockstar.

    What a legend he was.

  • Thin Lizzy one of the best bands ever, if Phil is Irish, English or Danish, dosn't matter they are still great!!

  • Spinosauraus you're the one who is stupid just accept the fact Phil was Irish and piss off

  • The fact of the matter is Phil Lynott is Irish regardless of where he was born and Phil would never, ever call himself English.

  • My Dad was born in Nigeria but his family was from England and he lived in Nigeria for like 2 years. Does that mean he's Nigerian cos he has an English Passport and is pretty damn Caucasian, Bahahaha!!! Bunch of Doyles!
