@JamieJetsonTV Ask the Kawai technical support team in USA "digital @ kawaius dot com". I got an SX240 this year. I rung up Kawai UK and they gave me the email. I have written to them several times. Alan Palmer, Mark Wisner and Kent Smith all replied and answered my questions with care and patience. Their customer service is very good. When my top F went silent they said it was a dirty or worn sensor but it worked again after playing it for a while. They supply spare parts for old Kawai synths.

@JamieJetsonTV Probably sensors or contacts being dirty or something. Google Synth repair then your rough broadish geographical area and talk to them, or look up "synth keys not working" or something.

@spontaneous09 I prefer the SX-240 by a nose to my Juno 106, although I've only owned the SX-240

for about a week, it is DEMONIC!!! So fun to punch in custom sounds... = The layout is 1000% better than the Alpha Juno or JX-8p/JX-10 system. Great to split and layer... If it had an Arpeggiator instead of that wussy sequencer it would also exceed the Juno 60 and Poly SIX. This things sounds like a Witch!!!

It sounds good ( a bit "noisy").... the problem with this mid-80s synths is that there's only one assignable knob... awkward !!!!!

Very good chorus/flange effect. If I don't go wrong it has only saws and square/pulse waves, so the timbre is a bit limited (but many synths of that age offered only saw and pulse waves... ).

Is there any way to  make the SX 240 receive only one midi channel and to not always be in omni mode? Also, can you make the VCF EG negative?

@goldenroland i have read that you can send a omni off message to the sx240 from a sequencer and then it will only receive on channel one. i own a sx240 and i have never bothered with it. its just not needed for my workflow but i can see how it would be good to be able to do that. sx240 is a great synth. i mean one of my favorites.
