4:40 back ups qb's generally are good. they can play, may have started somewhere prior. why are they back ups? well, soon we learn that they can't take a hit. starting nfl qb's are tough as hell.
@edscottable cody carlson was paid a ton to remain the backup when a bunch of teams wanted him.he flamed out real fast in 94 when he was made the starter.
@transport00001 if i remember correctly, he was injured in the first game and did we end up having to play billy joe tolliver? chris chandler wasn't there yet.
i remember at first when gary brown was out there we were like, just wait til we get lorenzo back. i can remember a few games later hearing lorenzo say in an interview, i'm prepared to share the load. 1000yds in 8 gms, damn right you're about to back up!lol
@edscottable i never thought gary brown was that great.he was ok in the run-n-shoot,where the defense uses only one linebacker to defense it.watch most running plays used here.a draw play where the back is 10 yard downfield before he is touched because everyone on defense is playing pass defense.he was no good when he went to san diego with gilbride.
@transport00001 oh we actually agree. i never bought him as an elite back at all. he filled in admirably and he helped my team win. lets face it though, he was the best running back that oilers team had ever had. lorenzo was great on the screens and decent on those draws. g brown was a much better ground gainer.
I KNOW THAT FAT BLACK AFRICAN DIDNT THINK HE WAS SERIOUS IN TALKING DOWN ON THE GREATEST QB EVER-JOE MONTANA- AND EXPECTING HIM TO NOT WIN THIS GAME!! LMAO, "JOE MONTANA, WHO DAT...DAT GUY DIRTY SEVN YURS ODE, AINT HE? WE (NEGROES) GON TAKE IT TU HUM TODAY".NO, HE TOOK IT YOU THAT DAY & WON 4 RINGS & NO ONE KNOWS WHO THE HELL YOU ARE, HA HA!!
I´m from Mexico and Oilers always was my team, I think people didn´t support the team, for that reason they had to move, now exist the Texans , I don´t like them, the real team from Houston are the Oilers, not the Texans.
@transport00001 Yes of course, almost all the mexicans love Dallas, Steelers, but Oilers were supported by many mexicans like me, my cousins, friends; Oilers came to play in the azteca stadium, when the oilers disappeared I stopped watching american football, right now I start watchig the games again but it is not the same, I like Dallas or Arizona but I do not feel passion, and of course I hate steelers.
@transport00001 Thank you, I am here, waiting for the Oilers, The Cambells family taught me the love for the oilers, when I was 5 years old, and I was in Houston, I love those colors, take care.
Such a shame this great team never went to the big show. I think, at the end of the day, the run and shoot, as spectacular as it was, was just too lightweight and caused the QB to take too much of a beating.
Love My Oilers, Givins will always be my favorite!! Love My Texans Stand behind my teams!! Oh and when they moved I was a St. Louis Rams fan so no i didnt jump on Tennessee Titans ban wagon!! I am JrJones And I Approve this message!!
Get your facts straight. The fans of Houston stopped going to games after they announced they were moving. The Oilers routinely sold out all of their games, and the Texans have stunk for 9 years and have sold out every game.
@xudog so do i.i had season tickets right up til 1996.in a way,i was glad to be put out of my football misery.i couldnt handle anymore of those 20,000 attendance crowds.
@inersta462 the "fans" of houston should be hung.everyone jumped on the dallas bandwagon after the oilers started losing and no one went to the games.now the entire season sells out in tennessee before the season starts.i think adams made a smart move.
Oh man I feel like crying. 20+ years of heartbreak and these videos bring back the memories. 91, 92, and 93 were just so gutwrenching. I'm not from Houston so I followed the team to Tennessee and then endured 99, 2000, 2003, and 2008 as well. The Oilers/Titans are in the top5 most heartbreaking teams in NFL history!
Take a laxative and eat a family size can of beans, make sure theres a clear way to the can.... when you feel your gut rumbling, make a run to the bowl... let her rip.... after your ass is burning and you are done, take a whiff and thats Oilers football!!! lol
Oh by the way thanks for posting this I've been looking for this along time I used to have it on vhs .Does anyone have footage of the year before when we were playing in Cleveland and they scored 10 points with in 2 min to win and put their selves in the playoffs. I can't find that any where.
Dishman had perfect coverage on Davis how the Hell did he catch that. That was one Hell of a year regardless of losing in the playoffs .the defense were monsters inc my boy Ray Childress.Luv Ya Blue god I miss the house of pain days.
@lordbyron318 i agree.i was at the playoff game vs kansas city, and everyone sitting around me knew they were going all the way.especially after winning 11 in a row.that loss was the worst moment in my football fan life.even worse than the previous years loss to buffalo.
i miss my favorite team. i live in ....uhg.....browns town. but this was my team.
