I like it. But.....it's too damn heavy. 3900 pounds for the A5 is fine. This is supposed to be a sports car. Don't just add more power. get it into the 3400 pound range and it would be a holy terror!

That's what I saw in a magazine, I really hope they're planning to use the pop out spoiler. Hopefully this is just a mule, because while it does have an different bumper in the front and the modest spoiler on the back it just looks too much like an ordinary A5.
They might of just been testing certain aspects of the RS5 as it's still over a year away. And I agree, the spoiler is an awesome feature for the car and distinguishes it from the rest of the A5 range.
IT's a v10...come on people. They already have a v8 in the s5! If it WAS a v8 it would have a turbo or two which you would hear. It's the Lamborghini 5.2 liter V10 engine that produces 500 horsepower in the Gallardo. They tested a v8 twin turbo rs5 in the states that you can find pictures of with intercoolers in the front...this however is not that.

Yes the M3 is rwd and handles very well but the quatto system on the RS4 is very forgiving and handles just as well but with extra security in cornering and grip. So on a track it might not feel as fun as the Beemer!

I agree with what your saying but when the RS4 came out it was the only competition to the E46 m3 which it destroyed and set the standard for cars in this category. Then a year later after BMW seen how great the B7 RS4 was they realeased the E90 and E92 M3 which is now the rival of an older B7 RS4. The new M3 is quick and is quite evently matched in terms of 0-60 times, Hp and Nurburgring times the E92(4door) was 8:05 where the RS4 was 7:58. The RS4 was always compared the the 2 door M. RS4ever!

Actually the next generation BMW M3 is going to be powered by a turbocharged straight inline 6 cyclinder engine. comfirmed by M powers CEO recently. They expect it to be in dealers by a late 2013. But yeah, another reason why Audi are the best, most powerful, comfy german cars around at the moment. Although saying that I think Mercedes are almost on parr with them in terms of engine quality and build. BMW are just...well, they suck IMO.

It is the new DSG/S-Tronic 7-Speed gearbox for A4-A8 platform. Capable of handling 600HP and 550Nm of Torque. Engine is a 4.2L V8 with 450HP, they added 30 to the current RS4 engine.
the engine choice is not sure for certain. its either the 4.2 v8 with a turbo for that extra horse power boost or the 5.2 v10 which has got people wondering again after this vid! unless this vid is a v8 with a tuned exhaust. i still think v8 coz v10 in a car like this is bit over board!
The RS models are supposed to be overboard btw. That would sort of support the v10 theory which is hard the theorize against after hearing this video. Either way, the 5 series is by far the sexiest model in the world so I'm hoping the RS version is extremely overboard. It's about time Audi puts BMW in their place beyond styling.
This may not be the final product as far as exterior styling goes; based on other RS products one could expect similar flared arches as in the current RS6. This sounds like a V8; which may be the last V8 Audi produces for any iteration of the A5 series cars. The S5 next year will reportedly get the bi-turbo 3.0-liter TFSI V6 that the new S4 has.
some people say it sounds like the v10! but i think v8 with a fined tuned exhaust! also coz of the fact that they are changing the engine in future s5 to the v6 like u said.

S4 is the best handling Audi and will remain for a while. This one is too heavy and doesn't have that sports diffs like S4.

I believe this is having a brand new diff set up specifically for this car, hence it's 2010 due date. This should take audis handling past BMW M3.
