  • does this support 8-core?

  • Big video card.....

  • i.d.e. mwahahahaha!

  • There are obviously 7 SATA ports. The blue one is SATA II.

  • bought this board with the phenom 965 3.4 cpu with 8 gb ram to go with my 6870 :)

  • I'm getting that board and only getting 4gb ram.. lol I feel bad

  • @xxdeathx don't feel bad...you can always get more later.

  • For some reason I dont think setting a motherboard on top of that box is a very good idea...

  • I dont want a bulldozer, because it wont be much better. Wait for their real answer to the new 2600's, that will be good. (i hope... :p)

  • I don't see how you can quad with double sided video cards on this mobo. Anyone doing quad with this motherboard?

  • @JonothanSiple777 It's possible because there are 8 slots total and all 4 2-slot video cards will be in a 16x slot. The only issue is that all video cards would make cabling a very tight fit.

  • Mr. Paul.. you're a nigger just saying.

  • after overclocking my pci-express drops to 8x. I have only 1 video card and nothing else. Can anybody help me?

  • @TheUnknownHarbingers Hey by any chance What number Pci slot do you have it in because the only slots in this mobo that are 16x is the first pci express slot on top and the 4th one.

  • @Dienomight It's in the top slot

  • thats a HUGE cooler :O

  • How to use the OC keys on the board when the case is closed? Can we assign buttons over the case or must we install a fan&oc controller?

  • will this board work with corsair vengeance 8gb DDR3 1600mhz??? plz respond asap!

  • @lilfredd1393 yes... it will

  • @lilfredd1393 it should most mobo work

  • So, im piecing together a build atm including this, and was wondering- Does this board have support for rebuilding RAID 1 & 10?

Ive looked all over the internet for this question and have had no luck. The reason i bring this up is because of a review i saw on newegg.

Maybe he was just a noob?

Ty, and i look forward to hearing any responses.

  • stop moving this shit around man.'as you can see' i can't see shit.maybe next time hold it up so we all can see.no disrespectful,im just saying.

  • wow im considering getting this broad

  • this is in my top 10 sexiest motherboards. Navy blue is my favorite color

  • Is this compatible with the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Thuban 3.3GHz?

  • @rmhism yes, Phenom II X6 is AM3 socket so yes.

  • @rmhism Yes it is, the 890 FX was specifically designed to fit the newer quad and hexa core processors.

  • hey i have a question. i have this same motherboard, but it wont fit into my coolermaster haf 932 case. but there are a bunch of other videos of people putting the same motherboard into the same case. how do i get it to fit?

  • does the graphics card cover up the other pci slots? when he puts it in the second time?

  • Sorry to say MSI SUCKS!!

  • AMD ftw.

  • Paul has the best job ever! XD

  • @godlydrmr Linus does

  • WOW YOU FUCKEN SUCK... WHERE THE OTHER GUY MADE YOU LOOK BAD... OH YEA THAT WAS Will Urbina

  • WOW YOU FUCKEN SUCK... WHERE THE OTHER GUY Will Urbina

  • Bought this board about a week before this vid was posted. Built a system in it with a phenom ii x6 1090t proc and 8GB of ddr3 ram. Great speed and a great board for a gaming rig.

Also, its in a NZXT Phantom case so the case fan header being blocked by the video card doesnt really matter.

  • 1080P hey you listened to me :)

  • Poor ps/2 ports don't even get a mention. *pat pat*

  • IDE!

    this makes me sad.

  • Too big card lol:P

  • cool board, gigabyte is better

  • I haven't built a PC in a long time and at first I was surprised to see only one non graphics expansion slot - after a little thought I realised that all the expansions I used to use are either built into modern cards (like sound) or usb based (like wireless devices) - can anyone think of anything that expansion slot would be used for?

  • @Kane856 older firewire cards, cheaper wifi/bluetooth cards, A/V capture, ide/floppy controllers... theres a million things pci is still used for... though most people will never need to use it... pci-e is much better though because its scalable, and the bandwidth of one card doesn't slow down another.

  • I <3 Newegg

  • sweet mobo

  • this or the crosshair IV formula cause its just 10 dollars more and made by the republic of gamers

  • @acogscopepwn either one is good.

  • That is a sweet mobo!

  • bought this open box from newegg. best mobo ever!

  • Over the years I have had nothing but problems with MSI motherboards going out on me,and others within a year. I prefer to stick with GigaByte or ASUS.. though this board has alot of features.. 3 yr warranty hmm.

  • @nectarineblue my brother still has an msi board from 2003 running fine with his pentium 4, still works (it even has 2 sata ports! ZOMGAWESOMEZORZ!1!!) sometimes you just get unlucky...though i would probably trust an asus or gigabyte board more.

  • an extra long cf bridge, hallelujah. space out those 6870s :)

  • 4:20 You forgot to mention 8x8x8x8x4x and 16x8x8x4 :P. for me, the 870 chipset is better; It's half the price, and 8x8x4x is perfectly fine for most setups (I.E. dual 6870's,5770's), just make sure it's got a lane splitter...

  • I hope you guys keep doing those other unboxing vidoes. This was pretty boring.

  • I want a terahertz processor!

  • @any5dollarfootlong Thanks for making me google this!!!

  • @minttuber *FACEPALM*

  • I want a bulldozer CPU

  • Having an IDE slot is like having a VGA-out for onboard video. I don't have any use for either, but someone out there does (in fact, a lot of people). I use DVI for video, but the majority of monitors still use VGA, just like many computers have PATA drives.

  • what's crossfire mean

  • @shawn963741 you have multiple ATI cards and run them together to get better performance

  • @shawn963741 A crossfire (also known as interlocking fire) is a military term for the siting of weapons (often automatic weapons such as assault rifles or sub-machine guns) so that their arcs of fire overlap... Oh you meant with computers? uh, its when you have two ati cards in the same system, both working on the same game(to improve performance). It works in a similarly to nvidia's "SLI"

  • @thebeetalls u have anyidea what sli stands for, to lazy to google

  • @GrimTheToad SLI = Scalable Link Interface

  • @GrimTheToad oh, ok no prob! "SLI" means; the Somerset Light Infantry: an infantry regiment of the British Army which served under various titles from 1685 to 1959.

  • woot i have this motherboard and it is awesome

  • IDE slot? Are you fucking kidding me?!

  • @4N0NYM0U557

    Yes and?

A lot of people still have drives that use them and don't want to spend 30 dollars on a new CD-drive or have a hard drive be useless when it's perfectly fine.

  • @mecher3k If you have the money to buy an awesome mobo like this, then spend those "$30" on a new HDD!

  • amd are the first to use all 6gbps sata, intel have to have a extra chip to run it

  • I <3 newegg

for christmas, i'm totally upgrading my ghetto old pc, getting a new am3 motherboard (foxconn), 4gb of ram (ocz), a new psu (kingwin 450W), a new graphics card (his hd5670) and a new cpu (athlon ii x2 250) all from newegg :D

  • @psychoclown420 i wouldn't get a foxconn am3 board... The ones I've seen don't come with usb 3.0 or firewire, nor are they the best overclockers. g.skill and adata are you best bet for memory(ocz almost never pays rebates...). The kingwin psu($35+$9 ship) is a bit overpriced... it doesn't seem much better then the cheaper coolermaster elite 460w($30+$2 ship), and it's definitely not as good as the SLIGHTLY more expensive(by $3) antec NEO eco 400w($45+$2 ship). Pls don't get mad at me :P

  • @thebeetalls No madness, i'm getting the foxconn, because of cheapness, (i'm on a strict budget) and i don't need firewire or usb3. I've read good reviews on it, some saying that it does overclock well, (i'm getting a dual core athlon...) I am not getting the psu yet, so i might get one of the ones you recommended, but the ocz gold is the cheapest ddr2 i can find, and if it breaks, it has a lifetime warranty. Thanks for the advice :D

  • @psychoclown420 oh, in that case, am3 mobo's use ddr3, not ddr2. I have a foxconn mobo(a7gm-s) and athlon 250, it works... then again i built my rig two years ago(with a different cpu) and back then, ddr3 was $200 for 4 gigs, and ddr2 was $40 :O if your gonna stick with ddr2(which i really don't recommend) then get the adata kit instead(type N82E16820211188 into newegg's search box). just so you know, ddr3 is now cheaper then ddr2, so even if you get a more expensive mobo, you still save :P

  • @thebeetalls Again, thanks for the advice, but the motherboard has already been bought, so i'm stuck with ddr2, but i'll be buying that adata kit you recommended :D

  • @psychoclown420 O_o aw that sucks, see i was really hoping That wouldn't happen :( ah well, live and learn. just fer laughs, what exact mobo did you get? i really hope it's not M61PMV or A74ML-K...

  • @thebeetalls uhhhh...... a74ml-k.... :P

  • @psychoclown420 0_o uh... forget about ddr3, that mobo doesn't even support hyper-transport 3.0(or 2.0 for that matter)! if you put a 250 in there you are looking at some SERIOUS bottlenecking, if it even works at all. im sorry, but you got some BAAADDDD luck dude :(. the 740g chipset is pretty much a re-badged 690g chipset, which came out in the old pentium 4 days... if you can(within 60 days of purchase), return it asap because theres a huge difference between a 1ghz ht and a 2.6ghz one...

  • @thebeetalls I remember those days I was gona upgrade my cpu and mobo, but last min i decided not to, then the price of DDR3 went down and, well i can say Im a happy with the price i got, it was just as much as I was going to spend and it was the right upgrade for me

  • rockin an eSATA, I like that

  • Excellent mobo even better than gigabyte, this mobo is the best mobo design 4 this chipset. like always asus sucks.

  • Good looking motherboard but I keep thinking to myself how out of date the AMD sockets look. Intel has been using LGA (Land Grid Array) since 775, 2007. AMD is STILL using those crummy little pins.

  • @doomtomb3 they obviously aren't that crummy if AMD has been beating I7 in core and speed progression, believe it or not AMD had the first quad as well as 6 core processor, they were also the first to make processors affordable to everyone

  • @mindkilla123

Ah then obviously the ipad is a great device with that logic

  • @SininStyle

WTF you talking about? . . . Ipad is neither the best or the first tablet. . . you just fail epically

  • @mindkilla123 Amd also has the fastest single core cpu

  • @tallandme13 Who the hell uses single cores? what is this, 2004?

  • @thebeetalls Alot of the budget computers that I build for people have a sempron in them- about 80% of them unlock to a dual core. Using 4 or more cores still is rare.

  • @thebeetalls netbook users use single cores

  • @EmoticonMayhem not for long, most are moving to dual core atom and brazos. anyway, i don't really count netbooking as "using" a cpu as single core atom is laughably slow, like, half the speed of a pentium 3 kinda slow...

  • @thebeetallsand even worse, atoms are just supposed to be for miniature computers (such as netbooks and nettops) but I was in a computer store the other day and saw a 27inch all in one with an atom and was just like, what the hell?

  • @tallandme13 what would that be?

  • @psychoclown420 Amd sempron

  • @tallandme13 So AMD is amazing now, cause did you know no one uses single core's anymore?

  • @Masterboychris Alot of people do for budget builds, or htpc's. A good portion of my clients use semprons. Most applications on computers still only use one cpu. Troll elsewhere.

  • @tallandme13 "Most applications on computers still only use one cpu."

    Correct, but not one CORE.

You lose, stop trying. Give up. I won.

  • @Masterboychris actually u dont. you first statement was correct. most apps dont use multi cores. but the motherboard reports the multi core as a single core to prevent errors.

  • @agello24 So I'm guessing you're high, correct?

  • @tallandme13 who need single core cpu.fail

  • @mindkilla123 no AMD is not faster then i7 and no intel was the first with a 6 core processor and YES that are cheaper

  • @doomtomb3 if you change the cpu alot these are a lot better then lga because lga sockets get weak after about 15 changes while these dont

  • @JdsComputerBuilds THANK YOU, for actually responding to his statement and not turning this into another AMD vs. intel fanboy war.

  • I was excited o see the asus motherboard unboxing, hopefully you'll do more in that style. I'd expect a company like newegg to put a little more effort into their vidoes than this.

  • i see 5x16 PCI-e... but im sure its only 3-way Crossfire/SLI, also i didn't watch the whole thing, so wild guess

  • @pHaTdProductions supports up to 4x crossfire, no sli support.
