  • I'm Tajik (Persian/Dari-Darius) spoken and i do have a green eyes, light skin and blonde hair, am i half of Greek?

  • @camomilleable11 Dashakur

  • Yeah Samarkand produce a wine which is #1 in Uzbekistan. Samarkand has a 100% raisins for winery.

  • Greek? He is wrong, they're Tajik and these people speaks in an tajik language(Persian/Dari)

  • ho sieb bozor, xamma tojiko,

  • I've always loved this series. Michael Wood is a brilliant narrator and the story is one of the best in history.

  • Can't thank you enough for uploading this series! The sharing is much appreciated.

  • This part more than any other proves Alexander was a SOB. There was no reason what so ever to slaughter everyone in this town.

  • /watch?v=Q36tSlVBlvU

National Geographic maps of the Balkans states 1915 - 2006.

FYROM: HOW A LIE BECOME TRUE

  • Alexander was a barbarian after all for sacking ancient cities.

  • he was but can we do anything ? no also? he did something that no one did...Alexander the 'Great'

  • @anonimosfonias

    No, Alexander the Goat !

  • @sahajad no no no no no no no no no no,ur just jealous cuz u are a retard without food ...nothing more

  • Alexander the Savage!

  • I'm desperated to know more about the Greek people at Marakanda :P. He says they came after people from the Aegean cost of Turkey & even from the pristine family of the temple of Dydimus (at Miletus), calling them something like the 'Brakida', but I haven't found anything about it. Please, tell me if someone knows something. I would be so glad to receive information, thanks.

  • wiki Dydima , its a good starting point with a plethora of external links to expand your knowledge....

many of course were also greek slaves of asia and macedon/thrace who had been sent to the ends of the persian empire to work !

  • Thank you so much, hope I'll learn more about it, it's really amazing to discover that in the middle of nowhere could be rests of a millenarian civilization from thousands of kilometers away!

  • Barmakids

  • I didn't like this part of Alexender life ... he took revenage from 4th generation in samerkund, this put him in really low level.

  • I don't think back in Alexander's time men cared a bit about PR...LOL No man from any side of the world would give a crap about what the majority of the people had to say when it came to their actions.

  • Yeah, it's a kind of Kurtz in the Heart of Darkness, as if Alexander ran out of his mind & left himself to the barbarism, losing the view of reality at the edge of the World. No sensibility, no mercy, just go forward. There're many controversial things over the most heroic feat in human history. But I suppose they hadn't reason to be kind after crossing such a desert landscape during years. Anyway, it seems like something more should happened for them to destroy even the walls of the village.

  • haha final fantasy

  • Of course Greece was the light of the world!thats why we have thousands of filosophers,mathimaticians,physics,astronomers,etc..Do u know any babylonian filosopher or mathematicians?haha!of course not cause there arent!Babylon was the capital of evil and Greece of eternal goodness!possibly u havent read any of the modern filosophers that speak only for greece!if u dont read its your fault!what a retard u r!Asia+in fact China was region of Greece, thats why there're tombs of european people, greeks!

  • qwertywxyz what nick is that anyway?:P hey illiterate listen:1)since Greeks are from 600bc and after how they fought against Atlantians in 10.000 bc? 2)the Greeks civilization is on earth more than 1.000.000 years!thats why we have found the Archanthropon skeleton in Chalkidiki which was dated over 800.000 years old! 3)India=Land of Dia,learn greek for gods sake 4)Aigiptos=iptio tou Aigaiou!learn greek again to understand why Egypt was Greek region! 5)if u want more history lessons just ask me!

  • umm, NO. Greeks DID NOT fight any atlantanians. You can fool yourself and your illiterate friends with that bullshit, but literate historians would disagree with you.

Greek "civilization" IS NOT 1.000.000. Just making that assertion shows what a fucking idiot you are. Most of what "greeks" call their own culture is now being proven to be Thracian and Illiriyan. Oh yeah, and that fucking greek tonga? it's persian.

  • of course Greeks fought against the Greek Atlantians too!!the only source we have for Atlantis is from Plato(timaios)that says so!!if u have any other ancient text in your hands u should give it to be studied!!haha! The Greeks comes from Pelasgous genre!persian who???hahaha!u are really funny but i justify u.its not your fault.pyramids in Egypt also were built by the Greek Gods!Diodwros Sikeliotis source!..and many more!if i continue u'll be needed 2 lifetimes t learn them!!

  • The story from Plato is about a war betwen Athens and Atlantis !

    Athens won the war !

Wich makes Athens the same mysterius as Atlantis !

  • At least we can both agree that is all it is.

    A story

  • etymology of story

    account of some happening

narrative of important events or celebrated persons of the past

    recital of true events

  • what are you talking about?

  • "a war crime is still a war crime"

  • of course thats make sense cause Greeks are the oldiest civilization of the world..thats why greeks fought against the Atlantians in 10.000 bc!egyptians are descedants of greeks furthermore!the mayans, mexicans chinese and many other cultures were tought by the greeks..its a shame that the truth is conceiled and not revealed..

  • i am from uzbekistan...just thought i d let u all know

  • please islam won at the end via timour

  • That is true, some of these ppl have blue eyes and white skin, some green eyes white skin and bright hairs, and some brown eyes, black hairs

  • Many of the Greek cities along the coast of present day Turkey fought under the Persians and against the mainland Greeks. But I had never heard of them going so deep into Uzbekistan and apparentley thriving.

  • revenge for Noble Greek blood!

  • The only thing I couldn´t find in this part is the name of the city where these Greeks lived...

    Emerson

  • Turns out it was a village just outside what the Greeks called Marakanda, today it is no other than Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

  • wonderfull !

  • Thanks a ton, dont even know which one is my favorite !

  • Central asia was greek before alexander? weird?

  • No, he doesnt not make such a claim.

what happened was during the Persian empire many Greeks worked for the Persians, many of whom were forced labourers from Asia Minor (which was then part of the Persian empire)

Many of these Greeks were shipped off into central asia to change the demograghics hence why there was a Greek character which was present there when Alexander finally crossed those areas.

  • @alexandros1821 again with the forced labor... when will you greeks learn that Persians didn't force anyone to do anything in their empire. Slavery was legally forbidden! In this same documentary he says that the greeks collaborated with the Persians. Why the hell do you claim that they were 'forced' labourers?

  • No worries mate

  • Thank you -

  • keep them coming !

  • Keep em comming man!

  • WOW! two big thumbs up! What an amazing story!

Thanks, I look forward to the rest.

  • A big THX from germany. BBC documentary are still the best !

  • Great stuff. Is there more of this series ?
