Of course! Film today is not about talent (Dafoe) but about pretentious inartistic snobbery (check out her film trailers on here, Black Widow/Before it Had a Name, and Aprimi il Cuore/Open My Heart).
There is also a trend of rugged, sexy, American actors marrying these dull-faced, "enticing", subtly sensual European artsy actors and directors who are wishy washy and untalented.
Trust me, it isn't just this interview Dafoe is like this. And it isn't just Dafoe.

Couldn't agree more - he's simply pathetic... I was wondering when exactly she was going to get her whip out - it apparently happened off camera. But it seems these days publicity is all about her - he just supplies those silly laughs and is only allowed a few interjections in Italian.
