@aquaimage13 lol do you live in fort mcmurray or just read about it in the paper, moved here from ontario i can move back in 4 years and have a house paid off, if i dont work here someone else will. As much as the oilsands actually do hurt the native community the companies themselves do lots for them. Not saying they do actually care or not but suncor has contributed 1.3 billion dollars towards native communities around here since 1992
@deddy20 if i would like to work as a hauler driver on oil sand site , my friend told me that they train me , i do have a class 4 , is it true or should i have class 1 and experience ?
@MrSamerelshamy no you don't need experience the best way to do it is get on with a company such as kmc, north american, graham, ledcor there are a bunch others. But just apply as a labourer since i take it you have no experience and within a few months you will probably get a shot on the heavy haulers if you show interest. I'm an hd mechanic and deal with lots of them and the majority say thats how they started just applied as a labourer
@89cadillacfleetwood These are the guys this country and world needs to stand up and say NO we won't do this to the earth anymore until you prove to us and give us a date in the near future when we will not depend on oil. And don't tell me the technology isn't out there, Tesla had it hundreds of years ago, but JP Morgan couldn't charge for free energy. If these guys wouldnt do it the man would have to figure out something. Butter cup my ass! as you bend over and take it for a few wrthless papers
aquaimage 13, you are a moron. i live and work up here in fort mcmurray. the city
and surrounding area is home to more than 100,000 people. the area is absolutly beautiful, and awesome for quading and snowmobiling in the winter. there are so many trails, that people can go and walk as well.
before you make these crazy assumptions that were killing the natives food and water supplies and that kids should be ashamed, get your lazy fucking ass off the couch, and actually come up to the area. 99% of the people who live up here enjoy the area, and approx. 80% actually raise their families up here. As for the environment,
technology is only getting better, and only a tiny percent is actually surface minable. everything else has to be steam assisted out of the ground. we do less environmental damage up here, than any other big cities around the world. so again, before you start ramping on and making all these assumptions, get the facts first you sad pathetic fool.
@Juskazhann "there is also mounting evidence that water and air pollution from the extraction processes is endangering the health of human and animal populations. When all is said and done, extracting and refining oil from Canadian tar sands expels three times as much carbon dioxide as does capturing oil from the gushers Saudi Arabia." This took 2 sec to find. Now think of what there NOT telling us. Dip shit! Think about the shit that comes out of your mind before you
as takin by facts from morons like urself who have never been up here, we actually measure the airs pollution 365 days of the year, and its STILL cleaner than any cities around the world. further proving my point that you get all your information from sources that know absolutly nothing and are posted by green peace activist. hate us if you want, oil isnt going away.
and another thing, almost all of our everyday products come from our industry,
especially this pretty little computer that ur using to make misinformed comments on, maybe not the computer itself, but the products used to make it. and that car in your driveway, and appliences in your house. go live in a tree house and give everything up. ONLY then can you start complaining. peace hippie
@Juskazhann Read my comments above you will see that I know what the hell is made out of oil and our dependency on it. But as long as it is ok with some people and to not even question the path of this nation is idiotic. Tesla had tech. available a hundred years ago that would have given us all free energy but greedy elitist coudnt tax it. But you keep sounding like you do. It doesnt bother me a bit, I know there are people like you and until your more informed your kids will be like you! SAD!
@aquaimage13 Thank you for being awake. I hope people see past the heavy campaigning going on in the states currently. With projected 82% increase in emissions, our air, land and water is without doubt at risk!
Keystone has had 12 leaks in 12 months. We must collectively stand up against the false info and campaigning the media is spewing to the US and inform everyone of the pending disaster. I have been compiling and posting petitions, statistics and videos to my blog. kim-hunter.blogspot.com
@kimhunter2 I agree that Keystone is an awful idea, at least for the Canadian economy. The green energy lobby is, IMO, quite myopic in their goals. Nothing is going to take the place of petroleum in our world. It's not just an energy source. Everything is made from it. On petroleum rests the foundation of industrial chemistry. Even our food supply is heavily dependent on the hydrogen from natural gas. Oil production is already diminishing. When it too scarce to buy, nothing will replace it.
@kimhunter2 When you truly understand just how interwoven and insidious oil has become in our lives, it becomes appallingly apparent that nothing will ever drive the economy, the world's industries, or food production the way that oil does. Once it's gone, we will no longer be able to sustain anything like our current civilization. The faster we use it up, the sooner the collapse and the harder the fall. It will happen, not just in the lifetime of some distant future generation, but in yours.
@aquaimage13 Thank you for being awake. I hope people see past the heavy campaigning going on in the states currently. With projected 82% increase in emissions, our air, land and water is without doubt at risk!

@Juskazhann I can complain all I want asshole, knowing that all generations before me didn't see this coming. You all just sat around watching f-ing football and eating ho-ho's while our country caught fire.Well now you are the minority on this and damned if people like you will guide this country ever again.Go back to sleep sheep, oil is your God and oil will be your death. As for me,I know there is a better way and will not bow down to the ignorance of souless sheeple.you have never been right!
@Dara6344 Yep, everything is fine, nothing to worry about, DUMBASS! Everything I "find" I check my sources, thank you. But everything is fine, keep shutting down our coal plants and siphoning oil from sand, even though we have billions of barrels sitting under the midwest right now! Keep stripping away from the natives, who cares!
w w w dot good.is/post/think-nuclear-or-coal-is-bad-tar-sands-mining-is-coming-to-utah/
@aquaimage13 misinformed, slack jaw....no selling here, you do not like, stop using your car, fridge, water, cause the pipes are plastic to move your water, made from hydrocarbons..enough with the soapbox, provide better solutions to better use ALL our natural resources, instead of complaining about what we here in the industry do to support our families.
@piston426 And the reason you guys have to do this to support your families is because our country was sold out many years ago to the banking elite who now own every damn energy co.. I wouldn't have to use these products if there were alternatives, but there isn't, there is only a monopoly that people buy into because they believe everything they hear. I want better ways, I want cheaper alternatives and I know they are out there, but until "they" are forced to give them up, they wont. thanks!
you must be one of the fortunate that do not have to work for a living or do not have to work at all. For one operating is a good job, second it has to be done to let smucks like you live your princess life. This (ol' it's a job bullshit) is part of progress.
if you dont like it go live in a tent and kill animals with a stick, lets see how far you make it. Where do you work, what do you do, you dont need electric? you dont need fuel for heat in the winter? and if you go live in your tent you cant burn wood for heat either, that would be using a natrual resource, wood. lol why dont you hippies go suck on a tree.
@geraldhenke HA good one. Obviously you havn't read all my comments. Im not saying we dont need the shit, I am saying that it has long been time for us NOT to need it. The tech has been available for a long time.Of course I have to use it idiot, thats my point, my point is that we should have an easy option not to,we should be able to live off the grid but it is IMPOSSIBLE due to the dependency that generations before allowed to happen. I cant see how anyone could disagree with this concept.
@aquaimage13 you can go on youtube, watch a kickass video of some awesome machines and then bullshit all you want about how they're destroying the planet. you should look at what the emissions actually are for these things, and they are pretty damn clean, and what the fuck are you gonna do about it
@aquaimage13 bitching over youtube wont stop them. im all for the earth, but i just love machines like this. grab a gun and stop them, they dont care about the earth and they will never listen to you, so shut the fuck up about it.
I drive them it's an amazing experience but ot does grow old just like anything. We make anywhere from 400-500 bucks a day and those Trucks you see on this video are small compared to the 797b and the leihberr t282. Too all the environmental people you have give some to get some. Sure it isn't the greatest for the environment but we need the resources. I'd rather have a bit of pollution rather thAn being poor. Keep on trucken
@gimmedavidb Yep and the coal mines are......worse!!!!! The days of strip mining in Fort Mac are coming to a close in the next 20 years thanks to new steam extraction. I can bet you never EVER wore PPE and made it past a what David Suzuki says on TV, if you did you would appreciate the work we do to protect the environment. The plan is to reintroduce Bison to the area, as it is cleaned up and reclaimed. One mine West of New york does more damage to the environment.
@gimmedavidb Hey, nothing wrong with driving a hybrid...just a practical, efficient, environmentally-friendly, comfortable, "get you to work from point a to point b", 4800-hp 500+ tonne diesel-electric hybrid.
what a waste of time & money......total environmental destruction & pollution, i would hate to live up there! The cancer rates around this area are skyrocketing!!!!!!!!
What do you need fresh water and air for? Besides this would be amazing to drive on the DVP rush hour! Forget a Hummer! I think i would fill the back with Tar oil and burn it in the back of my Hauler and drive to work like that.
I got my resume in at Suncor but man it is like winning the lottery if you get an interview because these oil companies pay very high wages. I;m waiting Suncor for the call lol
those are the small shovels the big ones scoop forward not back those are the small trucks as well the 797 carries the heviest payload in the world the lebierr t282 is the tallest truck in the world i am signed off for 3 those two and the kumatsu 930 e its a little smaller than the t282 and the 797 but bigger that the 793
Yes, those trucks can haul over 400 tons but even larger trucks which can haul 750-1000 tons (or MORE!) are planned in the near future. These trucks will boast 8000+HP diesel-electric engines, all-wheel-drive, duplex rear axles, 10 wheels with 70+inch-diameter rims and 17+foot-diameter tires.
These trucks will be used for the oil sands, mining, major construction projects, and snow-clearing operations in regions receiving hundreds of inches of snow per year.
God my dream job!!, i just got my heavy equipment operators certificate and im hoping to get a job as a hauler or dozer operator up at fort McMurray!! know if they are hiring? i applied at suncore and canadian natural. hopin for a response!! :) wcked video by the way!!
As well, you don't have 1.5m lbs of rolling machines coming at you in every direction. Our job demands the best, and we are the best, and we do it all at 70kph.
datsuns11 - you are not a heavy hauler operator. i work for the largest oilsands company in alberta. I drive a 797d, hauling an average of 420t which is 800000+lbs. we do it rain, blizzards with flares so we can see, ice fog, thunderstorms, whatever god sends us. We stop for nothing, and we do it 24/7 365 days a year. We are the best of the best, so please don't insult us with your measly 300000lbs, with an escort, under controlled conditions.
get a video of the 797B loading actual oil sands not the 793 loading overburden that would be way cooler...plus we would get to see it load from an electric shovel not a hydraulic excavator
I'm a heavy hauler...I drive a semi... I haul up to 300 000 lbs on a 13 axles combination.... Driving these giant trucks with automatic transmissions is nothing compared to drive the heavy haul trailers with manual transmissions on some of the most dangerous roads of Canada...
ive done both... rig moving and mining and i agree to some extent... though the danger factor is there no matter what you drive and there are idiots behind the wheel no matter where you go... where abouts do you haul
go onto the websites of the big companies like Suncor or CNR, but you might have missed the boat! They aren't hiring like mad as they were a couple years ago anymore with oil price drops.
This Video is Sweet! Those Tonka Trucks are like Prehistoric Dinosaurs traveling across the barren Alberta Tundra wasteland. I can't wait to go to Fort McMurray this Summer!!
It's a Hitachi Shovel, very small compared to cable shovels, which run on electricy. Check out P&H 4100C Boss, which is what we have at Suncor, we also have a few Bucyrus electric shovels.

I am a Canadian, and the Tar Sands make me feel so ashamed. The destruction must be stopped.
There are people from different generations who are fighting the Keystone XL.
In fact, I saw the video of two young Canadian teenage boys who wanted to see the Tar Sands for themselves.
It's incredibly powerful, so much so that many sites, including the Huffington Post are covering it! Go to their website and search for "Tar Trek."
People across North America are coming together to fight this.

technology is only getting better, and only a tiny percent is actually surface minable. everything else has to be steam assisted out of the ground. we do less environmental damage up here, than any other big cities around the world. so again, before you start ramping on and making all these assumptions, get the facts first you sad pathetic fool.
Juskazhann 1 year ago
@Juskazhann "there is also mounting evidence that water and air pollution from the extraction processes is endangering the health of human and animal populations. When all is said and done, extracting and refining oil from Canadian tar sands expels three times as much carbon dioxide as does capturing oil from the gushers Saudi Arabia." This took 2 sec to find. Now think of what there NOT telling us. Dip shit! Think about the shit that comes out of your mind before you
spew it onto screen.
aquaimage13 1 year ago 4
@aquaimage13
as takin by facts from morons like urself who have never been up here, we actually measure the airs pollution 365 days of the year, and its STILL cleaner than any cities around the world. further proving my point that you get all your information from sources that know absolutly nothing and are posted by green peace activist. hate us if you want, oil isnt going away.
Juskazhann 1 year ago
@aquaimage13
and another thing, almost all of our everyday products come from our industry,
especially this pretty little computer that ur using to make misinformed comments on, maybe not the computer itself, but the products used to make it. and that car in your driveway, and appliences in your house. go live in a tree house and give everything up. ONLY then can you start complaining. peace hippie
Juskazhann 1 year ago

I have been compiling and posting petitions, statistics and videos to my blog. kim-hunter.blogspot.com
kimhunter2 4 months ago 2
@kimhunter2 I agree that Keystone is an awful idea, at least for the Canadian economy. The green energy lobby is, IMO, quite myopic in their goals. Nothing is going to take the place of petroleum in our world. It's not just an energy source. Everything is made from it. On petroleum rests the foundation of industrial chemistry. Even our food supply is heavily dependent on the hydrogen from natural gas. Oil production is already diminishing. When it too scarce to buy, nothing will replace it.
MrCameronAaron 4 months ago
@kimhunter2 When you truly understand just how interwoven and insidious oil has become in our lives, it becomes appallingly apparent that nothing will ever drive the economy, the world's industries, or food production the way that oil does. Once it's gone, we will no longer be able to sustain anything like our current civilization. The faster we use it up, the sooner the collapse and the harder the fall. It will happen, not just in the lifetime of some distant future generation, but in yours.

@aquaimage13 misinformed, slack jaw....no selling here, you do not like, stop using your car, fridge, water, cause the pipes are plastic to move your water, made from hydrocarbons..enough with the soapbox, provide better solutions to better use ALL our natural resources, instead of complaining about what we here in the industry do to support our families.
piston426 1 year ago

This (ol' it's a job bullshit) is part of progress.
geraldhenke 1 year ago
if you dont like it go live in a tent and kill animals with a stick, lets see how far you make it. Where do you work, what do you do, you dont need electric? you dont need fuel for heat in the winter? and if you go live in your tent you cant burn wood for heat either, that would be using a natrual resource, wood. lol why dont you hippies go suck on a tree.
geraldhenke 1 year ago
@geraldhenke HA good one. Obviously you havn't read all my comments. Im not saying we dont need the shit, I am saying that it has long been time for us NOT to need it. The tech has been available for a long time.Of course I have to use it idiot, thats my point, my point is that we should have an easy option not to,we should be able to live off the grid but it is IMPOSSIBLE due to the dependency that generations before allowed to happen. I cant see how anyone could disagree with this concept.
aquaimage13 1 year ago
@aquaimage13 you can go on youtube, watch a kickass video of some awesome machines and then bullshit all you want about how they're destroying the planet. you should look at what the emissions actually are for these things, and they are pretty damn clean, and what the fuck are you gonna do about it
MarcusVel13 1 year ago

These trucks will be used for the oil sands, mining, major construction projects, and snow-clearing operations in regions receiving hundreds of inches of snow per year.
glenn3rd2004 2 years ago

As well, you don't have 1.5m lbs of rolling machines coming at you in every direction. Our job demands the best, and we are the best, and we do it all at 70kph.
mulisha911 2 years ago
datsuns11 - you are not a heavy hauler operator. i work for the largest oilsands company in alberta.
