Being educated doesn't make you better. It all probability her music became whitened. All Black music came from the folk tradtion, and most of the folk were uneducated. The best Black are those folks closet to core Black culture.

Roberta Martin did not copy her style from Arizona Dranes. She was musically INFLUENCED by Dranes and incorporated some of the elements of Dranes's style into her gospel, but unlike Dranes, Martin was educated (with a Master's Degree in Music) and was able to refine her favorite elements of music from various genres to format HER unique style. Listening to Martin's music with a viable ear will easily dismiss your assertion.
