  • I really hope gorillaz make more albums

    i miss them already :(

  • Its not that much different than the intro...

  • @LoveAwsomeThings its a extended version

  • My Fave part of the hole song is 2;45 - 3:42 ^_^

  • i love this song because it remineds me of nodame cantabile.

  • it's not dubstep. :(

  • @Pusscatification

    Point?

  • @thest0rmyblu i have no memory posting that. actual. disregard lol :D

  • gorillaz just got his own kind of music style...

    epic!

  • @Daxter500800300 yeah right *their

    sorry my enligsh is baaad^^

  • Ive listened to this song so many times when im stoned.. it never gets old.. I just imagine me with some friends commanding a pirate ship, traveling through the ocean.. somedays are rainy some days are nice, and we are just beings looking for land in this mysterious world.. good times

  • THIS should be the Orchestral Intro on the album ^^

  • @tanslec2 lol this is the extended version of Orchestral Intro

  • is this a parody or wtf is this shit ?

  • @charlikenm no, this is the extended version of Orchestral Intro

  • @charlikenm idiot

  • uhh, the Japanese get everything. How come America doesn't get all these awesome bonus tracks!

  • @ScaryMonstahh we don't deserve it

  • I love this track, but I don't understand if those random noises are on purpose or are a bad result from mastering or disc scratches. I don't get it...

  • @X0RX1 I think it's because if you listen to a lot of classical music, it sounds like that. Some kind of older recording method I think. They probably wanted to simulate that to sound more classical.

  • @AscendingLeo Actually, on further inspection, I found out that it's a mastering issue, and the "noises" are actually clipping due to loud volumes. I ended up fixing the problem myself. Anyway, thanks for the reply :)

  • @X0RX1 Oh, sorry about that. And what did you use to master it? Did you run it through audacity, because I'm considering to take it out of mine too.

  • @AscendingLeo I did take a lossless version of the track and used Cool Edit Pro's Click and Pop Removal Tool and I fixed every part manually. I know it's dated but I have been using it for a few years and I got used to it. There might be better clipping fixing tools or methods but I found this one I used just as useful and made sure that I eliminated every problem.

  • I have the White Flag single vinyl and this one is on the b-side, it's really beautiful!

  • Ah this is pretty much the extended version of Orchestral Intro :)

  • i don`t want the CD... i want it in freaggin VINYL!!!

  • Is this on the physical experience edition or just the itunes version?

  • @michaelbizley i tunes i have the ep. ed. it not on there

  • @michaelbizley it's on the experience edition, the itunes edition, and the japanese edition

  • I wish the rest of Plastic Beach was as moving as this

  • I can SO imagine this in a BioShock game!! the 0:49 and on part magnificiently captures the feel of Rapture!

  • I'm pretty sure we got cheaped out with this song and got the orchestral intro song at the begging of the album. the version we got ended at about 0:50

  • @destrocting ur an idiot

  • I only discovered this song now! I didn't know Japan got a bonus song! I dont get it, why do they get the bonus track but not us? Anyway, this song is fucking unreal!

  • i can´t believe gorillaz had done this...

    it´s amazing :'D

  • reminds me of a movie but cant identify wich one....

  • This makes me wish the Orchestral Intro was longer

  • sounds kinda like somin from a movie

  • this is just the complete version of the orchestral intro from plastic beach, anyway, its still fantastic :3

  • this song is tight as hell when your high

  • when it rolls over to 2:00 it suddenly becomes really scary, instead of somewhat depressing

  • i like to call it "Damon's Agony" or "Damon's Lament"

  • This. High. It's twice as amazing.

  • This song reminds me of driving down a highway at sunrise, heading to the city....

Perhaps I'm just pulling similarities to "Rhapsody in Blue", but that's not quite a bad thing....

  • @CodeNameX001 I feel the same way. The fact that it can even be compared to Rhapsody in Blue is a sign that it's amazing. This is way better than any of the stuff that's on Plastic Beach. it's a shame that this could only be a bonus track (though I understand why).

  • while i look at this pirate ship and look at melancholy hill video.

and im just thinking....WHERE THE HELL THE PIRATE JET COMING FROM??

  • im a gorillaz fan but i absolutely dislike it.

it sounds just like a clssic song.

  • @PACMANISBEHINDYOU

    "Orchestral Intro"

    ORCHESTRAL

It's sounds a bit like a classical song because of the instrumentation. But I can totally understand your opinion for not liking it. That's probably why they didn't include it on the regular version of this album. I really wanted to buy this album on iTunes, but my MP3 player doesn't play mpg4 files.

  • @gpoop23 you can convert all mp4 songs on itunes into mp3 songs inside of itunes. Go to Preferences>General>Import Settings> and then pick the format that you want. Then on any song you can right click it and convert it to that type. for example if you chose MP3 it'll say "Create MP3 version."

  • @PACMANISBEHINDYOU some gorillaz fan you are.

  • uh hello, i bought the experience edition but that track wasnt on the cd, is there an online link to it or something?! D:

  • Wow I still love listening to this even though I have the iTunes Deluxe Edition

  • this song would be great for a dark-ride in some amusement park.

  • disculpen

    se supone

ke esta seria la kacion 17???

  • Comment removed

  • Ahh, I'm getting chills up my spine :)

    Beautiful song

  • oh lord jesus! why didn't i buy the experience plastic beach album on itunes! then i would have this song and twelve hearts, seven seas and one moon or whatever its called??

  • @douzillac what are you looking for? a massive night-time aqua themed orgy? it's called three hearts, seven seas, twelve moons btw

  • thats weird , i dont have it on my cd :(

  • @RevolverXoX That's cause this was a bonus track that you only would have gotten if you had the delux version.

  • @XxzeldawolfxX oyeah , i have the experience thingy , sorry

  • @RevolverXoX If it makes you feel any better, I don't think the Deluxe version has the DVD.

  • gorillaz are so incredible they have classical music its awesome man

  • its only (now 30)000 views because people are unaware of this extra track for the japan/itunes cover.

  • Hm. Does anyone else think Damon might've been referencing the famed text "Pilgrim's Progress" with this song title?

  • Comment removed

  • Why does this sound exactly like the orchestral intro? Or is something wrong with my YouTube? I didn't listen to the whole thing, is it like a subtle remix?

  • @CreepyMcCreep It's a longer version of the intro. Listen to the whole thing.

  • @Jasrey32390

    Thanks, my mistake.

  • @CreepyMcCreep No prob. It's a great song tho

  • @CreepyMcCreep This one is longer. They probably didn't make this the intro because they needed a bonus song

  • @35r345 can't help it if you're ignorant to good progressive alternative rock music

  • Comment removed

  • I'm literally speechless. Damon you fuckin genius.

  • I bought the experience edition.

How come i didn't get this? ): Amazing

  • @Qalissa7 i think the experience edition is the one you buy in the shops which doesn't come with this song, if you bought the delux edition off itunes then you should have got this.

  • Such a smooth, almost Disney-like song

  • do what you want

    cuz i pirrate iz frrre

    u arrre a pirrate

  • delightful :)

It reminds me to the Yellow Submarine OST. But with a classical thing (as Gershwin, in the end)

  • only 25,251 people viewed this?!?!?!? ;(

  • @jeremypr thats what happens to good music nowadays : (

  • @whatsnextgorillaz Well, it also has to do with the fact that this only comes from one edition of the album, therefore a lot of people - even Gorillaz fans and people who own a different edition of the album - don't know this song exists.

  • @Drowzee64 and this song is not very nice its not what the most gorillaz fans like

  • @whatsnextgorillaz True....... =(

  • @whatsnextgorillaz bullshit. i bought normal edition, and dont even know about theese songs in Itunes and Experience versions.

  • @whatsnextgorillaz so true :(

  • @jeremypr also, keep in mind this song was only released in the japanese album and itunes. Soooo, a lot of people, especially the ones who only torrent, probably don't know about the song. So sad

  • @jeremypr a reason so few viewed this video is because when I wiwkipediad the album it only had tracks 1-16 on there so I then DL-ed all the 16 song and just now I found with track 17

  • @jeremypr well, 36,181 people viewed it, that's 11,000 more from 4 months ago. Thats "progress" lolz.

  • @jeremypr plus this track was ony released in the japanese and itunes deluxe editions

  • @jeremypr needs millions, :)

  • I believe that this song in the end makes a connection to Pirate Jet. Listen to the drum roll in the end of the song..connect it with pirate jet and you got yourself a 6;46 epic song!

  • @Nesplayer Yup, in the Making of PB it shows that it was supposed to transition into Pirate Jet

  • awesome its a great orchestra the album is pure genius and you can always expect this from damon albarn cant wait for blurs revival!!!

  • Wow, i think the music is marvellous!Plastic beach is a fantastic album, And Damon albarn is a music genius! Just love gorillaz!

  • @TheKontosuburbian It's only 1:07. Can't you tell when it transitions?

  • To me, it sounds like Gustav Holst's the Planets. Possibly Neptune. Halfway in this, it kind of reminds me of the Beatles.

  • @minespatch @ minespatch, yes definitely Holst's sounding... that's the first thing I thought!

  • Orchestral Intro in the beginning.

  • heard this at birmingham, even though on the setlist it said orchestral intro!

  • @lukebentley123 It is actually a longer version of Orchestral intro I think. The intro is only about 1:40 minutes long.

  • @TheKontosuburbian ye it is :)

  • bajs i realy like this one

  • The beginning is simply amazing.

  • Why do the Japanese always get the really good bonus shit? Didn't they get bonus songs on D-Sides too?

  • thats what i was thinking too...why do japanese get bonus tracks!? It rlly pisses me off!

  • @melodyflo The japanese only get this song, theres a worldwide release of a deluxe edition that has this and another song.

  • @Jasrey32390 It has to do with Japanese import law that make it difficult to sell the plain jane records over there without some cool extras. Also Gorillaz taylor made D-sides to appeal to Japanese fans, so it makes sense that the got a little extra.

  • I bought the experience version of the album and this track is not on it. Im very sad. I love it! I ADORE Damon's orchestral works.

  • This track reminds me of a track they used for the movie BIRTH

  • Like movie sound.. filling..

    It is healed.

  • its great but does anyone notice the scratchy sound in the song or is that just me?

  • This track has been reported multiple times as containing static, in all versions of the release - including the iTunes version. At this point we are unsure of its nature - it is likely an artistic decision that the creators are using to make a point about piracy and its effects.

  • I agree, because it plays only in one or the other ear at certin times if you are wearing headphones...

  • @thethreeofusaredying

I think they were trying to emulate the sound of the phonograph

  • Sounds like Kurt Weill

    nice

  • This track is top stuff. It does sound a bit soundtrackish, but still very good.

  • I still think Demon Days was Amazing

  • @MrShagnasty23 it was. very.

  • @MrShagnasty23

Yeah man. Demon Days was better in my opinion, though I do love this album.

  • @MrShagnasty23 Everyone thinks Demon Days was amazing! People that aren't Gorillaz fans think Demon Days was amazing! I personally think every Gorillaz album is amazing, including this one, and just listened to The Fall, coincidentally also amazing!

  • @WhatDoesTheJStandFor of course every gorillaz album is amazing! but demon days is the best album :) xxx

  • @WhatDoesTheJStandFor absolutely. best band ever imo

  • @WhatDoesTheJStandFor its great 2 see another Gorillaz-die-hard-fan!

  • beautiful symphony..just fucking beautiful..this track deserves to be on the HUBBLE 3d IMAX documentary..or on whatever BBC and discovery do next...in scenes of epic coreagraphy..especially the beginning of the track..it's just spell-binding!

  • @DreamKid00

what?!?! plastic beach is EPIC to many and me...demon days was the one I didn't like as much..the rest are amazing albums

  • gahhh this should be on the ACTUAL album, dammit. Reminds me of ELO's "Eldorado".

  • plastic beach is the best album i've ever bought. im being serious. the 21st century White Album..

  • @MrAndyGibbard its pretty good, but i wouldn't call it the 21st century White Album.

  • @RATMkorn789 I would, thats why I said it ^_^

  • @MrAndyGibbard

Pretty damn good, but that might be a strech haha. So far though, best of '10

  • (singing) you are a pirate

  • You think its dissapointing? I love it, maybe you just need to give it some time. It's more less catchy but more elegant and moody imo.

  • @Cartoonbom it IS indeed elegant, moody, and less catchy, but thats what makes it beautiful. Albarn and Hewlett wanted it to be different; strange. They wanted something new that the fans of gorillaz wouldn't understand, but its magnificent and a great masterpiece.

  • The scratching you hear is actually a part of the song.....kinda awkward.

  • kinda cool, like everything gorillaz do :)

  • This song isn't on the experience edition, its an itunes exclusive.

  • @Ambulanceo it is a bonus on the japanese version of the experience edition. their experience edition also includes stickers and a poster. lucky bastards! (no offense)

  • yeah it's on the japanese version but not the american version. The itunes deluxe edition has another bonus track in addition to this one

  • @KnIghTOfCyDoniAz4 yeah but the stickers can't compete with banana stickers

  • It's like what the Beatles did with Abbey Road, where they put it all together to be a big medley.

  • cool^^

  • Anyway, you might check for that little scratching which I heard in the track.

  • @MrCalhoun That scratching is present in all release versions of the track, probably there intentionally

  • He's freaking DAMON ALBARN.

  • just search for gorillaz fonts on google..

  • the fisrt min is orchestral intro

  • Liked the start and even through the middle but that part when they reach the trumpets just stopped the mood.

  • It follows Pirate Jet, so its refrain of the tune.

Probably won't sound so weird when they're together.

I feel a little cheated that the deluxe edition is clearly the proper version, with the outro matching the intro. Its clearly the body of work as it was intended.

  • The deluxe edition has one more track, Three Hearts, 7 Seas, Twelve Moons.

  • Gorillaz is the Best!!!!!!!!!

  • Great song, I love it
