I know it's a year later, but i've found (if it's possible for you) gerbils LOVE fruit tree branches when they're fresh off the tree and the insides are still green. I did some research and apparently it tastes quite sweet to them. :)

And I also used to own hamsters and the Perfecto Habitat Tank with the vents is mainly for hamsters, as it helps to vent the smell of pee out of the cage (gross.) Gerbils on the other hand arent stinky :)

i c ur tank has the vent at the bottom, i have a very similar tank to you for my gerbils but doesnt have that vent , is this necissary

The tank is a Perfecto Habitat tank and is approved by a hamster society, so the vent may be for hamsters primarily. I have other gerbils in a fish tank with a cage attached at the top, obviously no vent in the fish tank, lol.

Do gerbils bite? if so, do they draw blood?

If you hold them, and they're not in the mood to be held, they might nibble you a little, but that doesnt draw blood. If you get inbetween 2 fighting gerbils, or if a gerbil feals REALLY threatened, it can hang in your finger and draw blood.

Its the same gerbilarium as what I've got and the corner ledges are made of glass so they arent chewable :) go get one they are cool ^-^

I bought a sheet of wire mesh from B&Q (garden dpt) and cut it into a five space strip. Place the water spout through the mesh and bend the mesh up to hold it. Bend the mesh over the tank with the bottle inside. Get some garden wire or string and thread it through the mesh to hold the top of the bottle to keep it steady.
