Notice that the top comments are Pro life, but the Likes outweigh the Dislikes. Pro lifers are loud (and have highly paid political lobbyists pulling strings), but Pro Choicers are the majority.
This reminds me of the "Moral Majority", as opposed to the REAL majority.
I donated to Planned Parenthood yesterday. I suggest you do the same with five bucks, and cast your economic vote. We are the REAL majority, and Planned Parenthood needs our support now.
America NEEDS a president who is sensible about women's issues and reproductive issues.
Planned Parenthood isn't an extremist organization but is, in fact, one of the largest providers of healthcare in the country in addition to being a very mainline organization that supports very middle-of-the-road values: women NEED choice, we NEED access to affordable birth control, and we NEED sensible sex ed in our schools to prevent unintended pregnancy and STD's.
Planned parenthood is a euphemism for abortion clinics.
The presidency should not have anything to do with advocating abortion or not.
The whole thing is ghoulish. Voting for somebody who will allow you to keep your child or not. Should the president really have the decision of who dies and who lives...save the battlefield?
Lets take a look at the founder of planned parenthood, british eugenics member, Margaret Sanger. "The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
its easy for you guys to say oh thats killing babies and murder okay you dont know how hard it is to be pregnant and underage when you dont have enough money NO suppeort from parents and your in school you may say oh just give the baby to foster care WTF! even if you did you would have to carry the baby 9 MONTHS! which means you gonna miss months of school.ITS ROUGH so all you suburban people say that abortion is bad what would you do if you werent able to care and support a baby HUH? **cry**
Thanking PP for all that they do to "help families" is like thanking a drunk driver that ran over your four-year-old for what he's done to your family. This is rediculous.
Is the fetus an 'other'? Is it really a 'choice' if most women don't want an abortion but are pressured by economics, boyfriend and family? To me, there might be issues of justice here that need to be discussed. And I'd like to hear that (I hear Obama addresses this in his book. I need to look into that.)
"We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities. The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don't want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population. and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members." Margaret Sanger's December 19, 1939 letter to Dr. C. Gamble
How does banning the killing of a innocent child "favor the powerful over the powerless" An unborn or in this case partial born child has no choice, power or freedom, a few more inches and it could breath. How is a partial birth abortion safer or better for women's health than a live birth, the only difference is a dead baby that has had its brains sucked out. Please Senator Obama have some compassion and change your mind.
...once again, my comment is pending approval and probably won't get on...just as I asked the folks at CNN, why don't you let conservative blacks have their voice too ESPECIALLY when it comes to blacks and abortion???
It would be nice if america can acknowledge the fact that our children aren't listening to the idea of abstinance... and teach them both options-- abstinance and CONDOMS/Birth control things. If you hand them out at school-- less children will be sick... it's so sad... STDs and pregnancy could be changed... babies wouldn't have to be murdered because of uneducated children... so sad :-( I hope he doesnt choose hillary as VP-- then he'd lose my vote instantly.
It's really hard to find common ground when one group believes they are striving for equality for women and the other believes they are saving tens of thousands of babies from being killed.
To say that you are pro-choice but want abortion to be as rare as possible is disingenuous. You can't have it both ways. Quit straddling the fence, and pick a side. Either you support women having abortions or you support saving the life of the child. There is no in-between.
There's always in-between!!I come from am ex-comunist country and I know that,u don't? Saying u live in the country of all posibilities. How can u tell me to be a pro-life and stop my cancer treatment in order to have the baby and then maybe die before giving birth? How is that pro-life?Also I don't see the point of late term abortion when u can give the child to someone that wants it,for adoption.
There's a side to every story if u choose to listent to it....so there can be in-betweens!
There's a big difference between supporting "saving a child" and wanting to make abortion rare. I'd like to see abortion rates lessened through higher availability of birth control, more options for women to do with their reproductive health (many are turned away when they want to be sterilized), and sex-education programs that consist of more than, "don't have sex." I don't see how that makes me any less pro-choice.
That's an uplifting, innocent comment, but it's completely wrong. Planned Parenthood has an annual budget of around ONE BILLION DOLLARS! About 1/3 of that comes from federal grants and contracts. And the majority of the money they make from "services" comes from doing abortions. How could anyone believe any business would like to make the act they make so much money from rare? Pro-life groups have no hidden agenda, and won't profit from ending abortion, but PP can't survive without it.
are people just scared of being disappointed? even if this man doesn't win, i'm sure his speeches are already being recorded to inspire others for generations to come. he's already changing america! why feel ashamed of having a little hope! I HOPE THIS MAN WINS!
Yes, ideally there would be no need for abortions..but there are health issues and lack of support often involved. My Grandpa, a minister, saw the horrible back-street abortions that went on when people unprepared and too scared to be a mother panicked. Not everyone fully realizes how difficult it is to carry a child. Yes, every attempt should be made to support a woman during pregnancy. But who are we to say when a mother is or isn't able to have a pregnancy?
Abortion isn't pretty, but if you ban it in good faith, you are saying *in principle* that the government should be able to strap women down for nine months and force them to spawn humans. That's less acceptable to me than ending unsustainable lives before they begin.
Abortions are prevalent because society insists on rigid roles and does't care if you have a child to raise. Support Democrats because their policies will actually reduce abortions rather than force them into back allies.
The government can already make you take care of your children, pay for children in the form of child support and take your children away if you aren't taking care of them. Is that all that different from making a woman carry a child to term?

My Grandpa was a minister and he saw the horrible back-street abortions that went on when people unprepared and too scared to be a mother panicked. Clearie, you may not have a vote, but you have a voice. You have friends that vote. You have relatives that vote. You can post a sign and hand out a brochure. This country is your country too, and you can change it. All it takes is your will.
the best candidate running right now. not only will it be a great historic moment to have the first black president but he is a great speaker and supports the right policies.
I thought I wasn't going to watch the whole video, 23 minutes looked too long, but I just saw the whole thing. Politics isn't boring when Barack is talking. I want him to be President so much!

I totally agree. Bill, Hillary and their sorrogates have resorted to dirty politics to try and take Barack out. I cannot imagine living through 4 more years of the politics of personal destruction
Insurance companies and lobbyist is whats up. We wouldn't have as many problems as we do now if the insurance companies actually spent the money we pay them to take care of us and not use it to make "donations" to politicians, to keep them in business.
Obama's "Present" votes were coordinated with Planned Parenthood. It was part of the legislative process in Illinois. The Clintons know this, but they are using it to advance the lie that Obama doesn't "stand up" for women's rights. Baloney.
