  • I don't know what is funnier: that the creators of that video thought the Americans so stupid that they wouldn't pick on the transparently false translation (I mean, every other word he says is “Olympique”, you have to be brain-damaged to miss that) or that they though the Americans so stupid they wouldn't find anything weird about Romney talking of Obamacare in front of a SLC '02 Olympic banner...

  • Romney is a liberal. All of those liberal positions he held and statements he made are available elsewhere on YouTube.

  • @Stallya, thank you very much. But again, this video is so ridiculous, we almost died when I showed it to my class. Why do American people have such a bad opinion of France anyway? What did we do to you? I would be very pleased if someone could explain it to me.

  • @MrKureiga Most Americans have a positive view of France. It is only ignorant, conservative Republicans who have a negative view. They are so insecure about themselves that they hate anyone who is different. that is what we have spotlighted in our ad. Thanks for watching.

  • @AmericanLPorg Great ad. Romney is indeed a liberal worm at heart. Unfortunately Santorum can't possibly beat Barry because of the liberal worms and their machine. Thanks again.

  • democrats are EVIL. they don't tell the truth in this ad.

  • @johninsalisbury2010 This ad is actually the most honest ad you have ever seen. You will learn more abut the truthful positions Romney has had over the last 20 years watching this ad than if you saw every single Romney ad ever produced.

  • I must admit i like the usa freedom of speech or expression, and specially to watch america election campaign (even i am not fluent in english) because all attacks are permitted to discredit or destroy the opponent

  • @misterbell1969 I like how you can say the french annoy you when you can't even do so much as translate three words correctly in french

  • @MrKureiga I think it's something like "you lying son of a swine"

  • And you don't even have to be French to see the truth behind the subtitles : behind him is a Salt Lake City Olmpic Games banner, and while he says "Salt Lake City" several times, it doesn't appear in the subtitles, how can an American miss that?

  • @misterbell1969, don't use google translator: what you wrote means nothing (maybe you tried to say "Fils de porc menteur" but even in French, that doesn't sound well as an insult), what's the english for that expression you tried to use? (I'm deeply sorry for my bad english)

  • OMG, what trashy subtitles... I AM French, and I can tell you they are completely wrong. What's wrong with speaking French, one of the official languages for the Olympic Games, in an Olympic speech?

  • Romney should run for Prime Minister of Canada.

  • he's talking about the fucking Olympics. these subtitles are embarrassing.

  • How dumb would you be, to see foreign language skills as a problem?!

  • what an atrocious accent!

    Ron Paul 2012

  • I can't believe how many people here can't tell that this is a joke!...LOL!! no wonder Mitt is ahead of Ron Paul at this time...all the idiots that is voting for Mitt can't tell this is a joke!! That's scary! vote for Ron Paul he is the smartest guy in the room :))

  • I'm warming more and more to Mitt Romney! How does speaking another language make Romney a poor candidate? Speaking more than one language increases your understanding of the world!

PS His accent in this video is fantastic. If a Frenchman tried to impersonate an American, this is the accent he'd use. Brilliant.

  • I took NO French and I still know he's making a pitch for the Olympics..the French annoy me as much as anybody, but you, American LP are a misleading fils mensongères d'un cochon (use google translator, I did.)

  • @misterbell1969 Umm, you realize this video is a joke, right? lol

  • @jeffburdges Actually, no, if it's a joke I missed it. I completely expect the far right to try and pass this off as real. If it IS a joke, than alas, it's too close to the wretched truth of American Politics for me to see it as it is...to many people on both right and left...are spewing out baldfaced lies and calling it the truth...see any page of "snopes" for examples.

  • have those subtitles been altered by a user or did the ad go out like this?

  • @tom1980uk can't you tell this is a joke?

  • So running for president of the "free world" is the only job where knowing another language will hurt you?? Does that make sense?

  • laissez-les manger le gâteau!

  • After this a I am more inclined to vote for Romney. The guy has a brain and takes reasonable positions.

  • Why do any of you care. The only thing that is important is that Obama will be out of office next year. I want Romney to win, but I would vote for Peewee Herman over Obama.

  • Subtitles are WRONG!! He's not saying those things at all!! People that have only taken one year of French should recognize one or two words to know that the subtitles are lies!!

  • @geraldmercury It doesn't claim to be a translation. Every word of text is a 100% accurate quote from Romney. Why can't you handle the truth?

  • @geraldmercury People who have a good command of English and its vocabulary would recognise its not what he is saying...

  • @IceSlice21 Exactly! This is fucking hilarious precisely because it makes sense in any western language.

  • @geraldmercury Isn't that the point? It's hilarious. :)

  • @geraldmercury can't you tell this was a joke?

  • @JeanettaDumouchel

When they give people like Ted Strickland millions of dollars to smear Romney - little things like this are not a joke.

If this video were an Obama video - it would have been pulled off of YouTube

  • @geraldmercury i know lol

  • What's the deal with politicians from Massachusetts speaking fluent french? First it was John Kerry, now it's Mitt Romney !!!!

  • @JohnnyOysterSeed It is a simple proof that some Americans are not stupid and closed and have a lil knowledge ..

  • @TheCapitaineCarnage Yes and we believe republicans will punish Romney for this. They are the "Stupid Party."

  • this is ridiculous. Now this isnt even taking out of context, this isnt even misleading...This ad is total lie and joke.

  • @soxfan91293 It is partially a joke, but it is 100% factual. Every word of it is a documented quote from Romney. Every second of video is actually Romney speaking. So it is the most honest ad you have ever seen.

  • this will air as an ad against Romney but ALL HE IS SAYING IS WELCOMING PEOPLE TO THE OLYMPIC GAMES. this is very misleading

  • @glycoboy What's misleading is Romney campaigning as a conservative and pretending to be joe america. The reality is that he has a lifetime of liberal opinions and is a smart, worldly guy, as the ad brilliantly demonstrates.

  • Mistranslated and exposed on cbsnews website. He was discussing the winter olympics. Criminals.

  • @enigmanuma the CBS story was great! We were quite please with it. Apparently you aren't bright enough to understand humor or irony. But if you know how to read you would figure out that very word of text on the screen was a direct quote from Mitt Romney over the years taking highly liberal positions on issues. We believe that those positions will alienate him from GOP voters. Or GOP voters will punish Romney because they hate smart people and Romney appears smart by talking French.

  • @tjwalker Proving why the GOP has no business in politics. You'd hate to have a smart, worldy president in a globalised word, now wouldn't you?
