  • This song is slow enough that you could learn it by ear. Ear training is always good for your playing.

  • Thanks Juan.

    Keep up the good work.

  • Great work, Franco! To learn a song and play it back completely after listening to it is a wonderful talent. I was searching for the Mira guitar and saw your vid. How do you like the Mira maple top? I live in (U.S.) Maryland, where PRS makes them! I'd like to play one and check it out. By the way do you like/have you seen Diascouri? I saw them over here on a TV program a few years ago and liked them a lot; they play with a beauty and warmth so characteristic of your country. Best, John

  • Hi John,

    Thanks for your comment!

The Mira is a really nice guitar and I mean it! I had some money put aside for a good guitar with a bias toward PRS but not a must.

After going to few guitar shops and trying many different models I picked up the Mira and I was blown away with its tonality, comfort and handling. Every time you move a setting, even by 1-2 mm you can hear the difference. To me this guitar can suit a wide range of styles as long you have the right amp settings ---> next...

  • ---> 2nd.

If you like a darker sound choose the mahogany (standard model), I prefer the slightly brighter sound of the "maple top", the sound can easily be darkened with a slight adjustment to the amp setting if the guitar settings do not cover the range desired but it would be more difficult to brighten it otherwise. Ultimately you must play the guitar for a minimum of 2 hours before you can decide if it is the one for you. Doing this will show any uniqueness associated with that guitar. :~)

  • John, Can tell you that I never heard of this group, I googled "Diascouri" but failed to find any of their videos.

You made me curious now! :~)

    Thanks again,

    Franco

  • Hey Franco!

Looking good, sounding great - the new Mira really suits you. Are you coming to Birmingham in November?

    Cheers

    Nick

  • Hi Nick!

Thanks for dropping by! You can definitely get a vast array of sounds from the Mira and it is very comfortable to use too. All I have to do now is learn to play guitar properly. LOL

My plan is to come to Birmingham, to say a big thank you to you guys at the PRS stand for looking after me in the past and to try more guitars too. :~) Is Paul Reed Smith going to be there? LOL

    See you soon!

I thing it is about time that you post your video.

  • Tocco fine e delicato, non come quei rozzoni che suonano il rock-blues!!!! :-)))

(ogni riferimento al sottoscritto.....non è puramente casuale).

    Ciao e continua così.

    Buon lavoro

    Roberto.

  • Robbe'!!

mi hai fatto ridere tanto. LOL

    A presto. ;~)

  • Thanks, great job. Guitar sounds great!

  • Yeah man!

It is also true that you need to fine tune the amp settings for a particular guitar.

  • grande pezzo suonato benissimo!!

  • Grazie!!

  • OK Franco..bella esecuzione!! devo rimettermi a fare qualcosa anche io!!!

  • Grazie Roberto!

Si, spero di sentire molte atre canzoni da te.

    A presto!!

    Franco

  • Very nice Franco,

That new PRS certainly brings out the best in your playing.

    Regards Andy.

  • Thanks Andy,

It is true that if you like the instrument that you play, it will make you want to play more and (hopefully) learn to play better.

  • Nice idea doing this very fine composition as an instrumental version, I love Billy Joel a real fine composer, very nice playing Franco, just the right amount of gain in the guitar for this subtle melodic tune. enjoyed it,you captured the theme very nice, greets Vic.(5*)

  • Thanks Victor.

I think that Billy Joel was telling his own story on that song.

I am really glad you liked it my friend and I appreciate your comment very much. I slowed down the tempo of the backing track to 91% (percentage)as I thought it was a little too fast for the mood I wanted.

    Regards, Franco
