Then in the final battle, he again says he probably could have destroyed Kid Buu if he'd gone all out from the beginning.

Later he tells Piccolo that trying to measure Buu's power was pointless and wasn't sure if he could've won or not. While inside of Super Buu's body, Goku flat out admits he is no match for him unless he used fusion. Then in the final battle, he again says he probably could have destroyed Kid Buu if he'd gone all out from the beginning.

He only states that Gohan is now enough to deal with Super Buu, meaning that there is no canonical indication that SSJ3 Goku can defeat Piccolo Buu. You want to bring up the contradictions from the Buu saga, but there are none. Goku still states that he cannot defeat regular Super Buu unless he uses fusion. Later he says he can beat alone Kid Buu. So Super is stronger than both Goku and Kid Buu.

No goku was weaker but still strong enough to fight him he just couldn't win.He then said there was no reason to fuse after gotenks fusion wore out inside of buu and he lost gotenk's power so he could have of deafeated him before he absorbed gohan.He said normal super buu would beat him because he didn't want to go ssj3 infront of vegeta he then did it against kid buu as he had no choice.But he could of beat kid buu if he used all his ki at the start.

No Gohan was stronger than buu so Goku should be fine but he will have to be ssj3 of course and why did vegeta say buu's power should be decreasing when he turned into kid buu so if Goku can go toe to toe with Kid buu who is stronger than super buu he should be able to take on super buu normal.
