And the reason he changed lanes is because that was the first possible escape route, then locking up the tire forces you to to stay upright, or else the rear would just slid around you as you tryed to swerve. Ive gone down twice, both times because I locked up my rear. Im now working on NOT using the rear break at all.

That's the thing about roads. You don't know what's around the next bend. If you thought about it you wouldn't get on the bike in the first place. The speed this guy was going - he couldn't have avoided the car that suddenly filled his visor. I think we've all taken chances like this and got away with it. Looks much faster than 60 though.

I ride but got to say no way should you enter a junction at that speed, and then the biker didnt look for an escape route as they may have managed to swerve around the rear of the car but panic took over I guess

u have no clue how fast is 80 mph on a bike. when i had my crash at 85, i only had to steer right, but i couldnt, it s just not enough time to react allthough i wanted too. every milisecond counts, u cant avoid smt u dont see from a distance, it s not like a car with servo steering, the steering on a bike is hard also involves balancing, and u jsut cant do that in a fraction of a second +braking.

When the biker first saw the car, it was in the inner lane, the biker tried to move to the outer lane to avoid it, but unfortunately the car never saw the bike and met at the outer lane. The biker was not target fixated, due to the speed of the bike, the biker was unable to switch back to the inner lane.

the bike was a good 500 feet away from the light when the benz started to turn. Given that the speed limit was prob around 45 for that size of an intersection. It would be like saying a cager is about to change lanes on the freeway and he sees a bike way way back. what the cager doesnt know is the bike is doin 160mph. Cager changes lanes and within the time he looked to the time he changed lanes the biker has embedded himself 3 feet into the back of the car. Whos fault is that?

See where he was when the Merc first came into view...sitting on the right hand band of tyre marks in the road as you look at it. - As he realises he's in trouble, he locks on and ploughs straight into the car, - moving across the roadway into the left tyre marks - around 2.5 meters I think. - If he'd gone that distance to the right instead, he'd have made it without hitting the other cars queuing at the junction. - Too fast idiot!

normally, its the car's fault; but, here there is no denying that the biker deserved what he got. the car did nothing wrong for once. im amazed that the biker didn't even try to avoid it; he actually turned into the car.. wtf?

some kid on a bike did this to me last month.. i have a 2008 c-class my music was on so i didnt even hear anything.. he hit me at like 40mph i hardly got any dents.

How about the world's slowest left hand turn? Not sure what the rider was thinking, unless he was watching the cars ahead of him stopped to turn left, moved over just in case...SPLAT. SCAN riders, SCAN. And slow the F down!

Let this be a lesson to us all... Cars always assume that there will be a speeding vehicle Motorcyclists (like me) dont do crazy speeds in a built up area; youll always come off worse!

@rockerbot5000 i hate to disagree and the same thing happened to me as well..however i wasnt going more than twice the speed limit when it happened to me, and you obviously werent either if the car in your accident was cited for failure to yield. what a flashback to watch this video tho, hehehe

the bike was a good 500 feet away from the light when the benz started to turn. Given that the speed limit was prob around 45 for that size of an intersection. It would be like saying a cager is about to change lanes on the freeway and he sees a bike way way back. what the cager doesnt know is the bike is doin 160mph. Cager changes lanes and within the time he looked to the time he changed lanes the biker has embedded himself 3 feet into the back of the car. Whos fault is that?

The grip of death! - Looks like classic 'target fixation' to me. See where he was when the Merc first came into view...sitting on the right hand band of tyre marks in the road as you look at it. - As he realises he's in trouble, he locks on and ploughs straight into the car, - moving across the roadway into the left tyre marks - around 2.5 meters I think. - If he'd gone that distance to the right instead, he'd have made it without hitting the other cars queuing at the junction. - Too fast idiot!
