If the translation is such a major concern, then you need to learn to read Greek, Aramaic, Syriac, and Hebrew and get copies of the texts in the language they were written in. People who say the KJV is the oldest translation and is closest in time to the original tongues are just plain ignorant. There were several early English translations that pre-date the KJV. It's also known that James told the translators to make sure the translation was tailored to suit the Church of England's practices.

You're only looking at one usage of "Son of Man" in the OT. Look at Daniel 7. The EXACT SAME hebrew word is used here that is used in Ezekiel. In v9, you read about the 'Ancient of Days' taking his throne in Heaven. 4 verses later, you read about a 'son of man' entering into God's presence, something not even the prophets were permitted to do. This son of man was given power, authority, everlasting kingdom, exc. This is what is being referred to by Christ. HE IS THE SON OF MAN OF DANIEL

The King James is the first translation of the Bible into English, that does not mean it's inherently more a inspired/true translation. The issue of the transliteration (not translation) of the word Baptism comes to mind. King James was a sprinkler but the scholars were afraid to translate the original word because it spoke of immersion so they transliterated it as "baptism". If you like King James, great, but for today's English speaker the language can become an impassable barrier.

the King James Version is not the standard you need to go to Greek Hebrew and Arimaic if you what to know what the Bible says or you can get a translation from these languages and you have KJV and NIV they are both direct translations just like if you ask 2 people to translate the same letter i bet they will be a little different so go learn the languages that the Bible is writen in and stop acting like KJV is the origial Bible

printing procedures were not as proficient as today. printers had to manually place blocks in backwards and HUMAN mistakes occured. the later ones corrected the printing errors of the 1611. There are differences, but they're due to printing errors-not errors w/ the text. Thanks

Are you really trying to tell me that God 'inspired' the KJV translators to make sure their work was perfect, and then allowed it to published full of errors. If the translation is such a major concern, then you need to learn to read Greek, Aramaic, Syriac, and Hebrew and get copies of the texts in the language they were written in. People who say the KJV is the oldest translation and is closest in time to the original tongues are just plain ignorant. There were several early English translations that pre-date the KJV. It's also known that James told the translators to make sure the translation was tailored to suit the Church of England's practices.

You're only looking at one usage of "Son of Man" in the OT. Look at Daniel 7. The EXACT SAME hebrew word is used here that is used in Ezekiel. In v9, you read about the 'Ancient of Days' taking his throne in Heaven. 4 verses later, you read about a 'son of man' entering into God's presence, something not even the prophets were permitted to do. This son of man was given power, authority, everlasting kingdom, exc. This is what is being referred to by Christ. HE IS THE SON OF MAN OF DANIEL

one plain error in the KJV is in ACts 19:2 "Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed" implying the classic pentecostal two stage doctrine. But the Greek is "and. believing, did you receive the Spirit" ie did you receive the Spirit WHEN you believed. And this is further confirmed by ROmans "if you do not have the SPirit you are none of his" Roman 8:9.

Clearly the KJV translaters decided that a bit of interpretative redaction was called for ,BECAUSE THEY ALTERED THE GREEK.

The KJV is overall the bible of the Anglican church. The Geneva is actually better than the KJV because of its reputation of placing the word of God over tyrannical leadership. Thats why King James despised the Geneva and had the KJV created - to make people subservient to him.

The King James is the first translation of the Bible into English, that does not mean it's inherently more a inspired/true translation. The issue of the transliteration (not translation) of the word Baptism comes to mind. King James was a sprinkler but the scholars were afraid to translate the original word because it spoke of immersion so they transliterated it as "baptism". If you like King James, great, but for today's English speaker the language can become an impassable barrier.

@jalvin19 - Actually the Geneva bible predates the KJV.And it was written in the English language. And it wasn't the KJV that the early American settlers, pilgrims, puritans, etc. used. It was the Geneva bible. The KJV made it into America after we gained our feedom from England.

King James is great simply for it's poetic beauty. NIV can be good if you're looking for a simple Bible translation. NASB is considered the most accurate word-for-word translation. But they're all the Word of God.

Hopefully, if the NIV really is that bad, God could inspire people to question it and find for themselves a version best suited to Christian needs.

the King James Version is not the standard you need to go to Greek Hebrew and Arimaic if you what to know what the Bible says or you can get a translation from these languages and you have KJV and NIV they are both direct translations just like if you ask 2 people to translate the same letter i bet they will be a little different so go learn the languages that the Bible is writen in and stop acting like KJV is the origial Bible

Jesus Christ is THE Son of Man.
The term "son of man" is used in the KJV 196 times. It is used in reference to man 108 times. It is used in reference to Jesus Christ 88 times and 84 of those times He is referring to Himself! The other four times are by Daniel (Daniel 7:13), Stephen (Acts 7:56), and John (Rev. 1:13 and Rev. 14:14).

Dr David F Reagan, the pastor of Trinity Baptist Temple in Knoxville, Tenessee has written an expose entitled "The KJV of 1611, The Myth of Early Revisions" where he has concluded that there have been several editions, BUT NO REVISIONS of the KJV 1611. So it is very interesting where you got the exact 1769 verse that showed a difference. Did you made it up just to prove a point?

printing procedures were not as proficient as today. printers had to manually place blocks in backwards and HUMAN mistakes occured. the later ones corrected the printing errors of the 1611. There are differences, but they're due to printing errors-not errors w/ the text. Thanks

@filoIII, I have no problem accepting that there were printing errors, but not whole words. Maybe some spelling issues. Are you really trying to tell me that God 'inspired' the KJV translators to make sure their work was perfect, and then allowed it to published full of errors. So God's power is limited to translators, and He allowed the Printers to make all those mistakes. That is the faultiest reasoning I've ever seen. My /God always gets perfection when that is what He wants.

SkieVibrant, Although Jesus is also known as the Son of Man, in John 9:35, Jesus is asking the blind man that he healed whether he believes in the Son of God, because in this context of miraculous healing, it is as a Son of God and with God's power that He healed the blind man. Here the NIV is trying to downplay the deity of Jesus Christ. Also, the NIV has actually removed 60,000 words, ..yes 60,000 words! and 17 bible verses! in its translation.
