  • bernie williams true legend of the yankees!

  • i have a autograph :D

  • Awesome job!

  • I miss this guy :(

  • They owe win everything!

  • One of the greatest Puerto Rican baseball players ever.

  • Im surprised they didn't retire his number yet. This guy help the yankees go into their dynasty. If it wasnt for him, they wouln't have 27 world championships right now.

  • the best

  • met this guy last night, complete asshole. Drunk and cheating on his wife with some ugly blond chick. Lost all respect for him. It was unforntunate I was a huge fan of his before hand. Not anymore.

  • @JamesD567 hey jamesd567, stfu

  • @quez76 hahaha, i love baseball nerds.

  • bernie rocks and so do all the other yankees congrats yanks lets make it 28!!

  • Wow i thought i was the only one that felt that Mr.Bernie Williams didn't get treated by the orginazation the way he deserve to be treated he is and will always be a class act i think what Bernie deserved was to be able to go out on his own terms and be able to get his 300th Career homerun and finish his career with over 2500 hits that was more than possible and the yankees shitted on that .

  • yo bernie was crazy and always will be. my fav player of all time

  • yo benie was crazy and always will be. my fav player of all time

  • bernie williams one of my favorite players fuckin steinbrenner couldnt bring him back. and by the way how do u make vieos like this

  • Bernie rocks....but who picked the god-awful music for this vid?

  • One of the greatest Yankees Ever. He had a great connection with the fans. Actually, he still has it. That ovation in the last game at the stadium was well deserve. All of you are right. He should have his own plaque and retire his number #51. Next stop: Hall of Fame. Thank You Bernie, one of Puerto Rico finest players!

  • notice how the yankees started losing when they cut bernies time shouldve signed him for 1 more year so the fans can say how he feels or give him a bernie williams day same with coney and paul

  • bernie williams. future hall of famer!!!!!

  • they shuld retire his number hav a plaque n hav his own day 1 of the greatest yankees ever i hav never seen a classier player and 1 that has a better relationship with the fans than him he shuld hav been treated better

  • I couldn't agree with you more yoriginal. Bernie was a great player and a true gentleman. I believe the Yankees will break down and do the right thing and retire his number. He was probably the only Yankee that never got booed. The fans even booed Mariano a few times, but I don't remember the fans ever booing Bernie. Bernie is my favorite player all time.

  • jeter will never ever get booed. even if he did something bad like steroids (which he obviously didnt)

  • You're right. And that's because he gives 100%. And even when he makes an error the fans are always behind him. Jeter is probably the most clutch Yankee hitter since Gehrig. I could be wrong but it sure seems that way. However Bernie is my all time favorite because he just quietly got the job done. No hype, no controversey. His post season numbers and 4 gold gloves speak for itself. I love Jeter but Bernie Williams is my favorite. Jeter is a hall of famer though. He'll get 3000 hit's for sure.

  • oh he could retire right now and get into Cooperstown. 4WS and something like a .315 lifetime avg. and all those records he set in the old stadium.

  • No doubt. Unlike other players Jeter's numbers mean something. That's why the fans like him. However the Yankee brass didn't really give Bernie Williams the respect that they gave Matsui (Mr. Double Play) and Arod (Mr. Choke 2004,05 and 06) Arod has a good glove. However him and Matsui's numbers are almost all fluff. They almost never fail to disapoint in an important game. Bernie is more clutch than both of them combined.

  • oh yeah. but arods been clutch somewhat this season (except for the 3 DP's hes hit into with the bases loaded in the past few days. But matsui had that set up game tying back to back doubles in the 2003 ALCS game 7. but there just not as consistant but a long shot. remember bernie was part of that play too...

  • He deserves to have his number retired and have a plaque im monument park. It sucks that he really didnt have the chance to say bye to his fans but I have a feeling that he will show up to a game before the final game in yankee stadium. Go Bernie

  • My favorite Yankee ever!

  • Bernie's my favorite yank too

  • I will forever miss the days that Bernie played for the Yanks

  • Bernie's a hero to me and i agree he should have a plaque in centerfield and his # should be retired

  • greatest yankee everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Incredible video, Bernie is and always will be my favorite yankee, now make me a Tino Martinez video and make it snappy!

  • I believe they will eventually give Bernie his due and retire his number. He did so much for us during his time in New York. His departure was not a pleasant one though.

By the way, you do realize that song's title is "Good Riddence"?

  • its "Forever Young"...

  • they should really give him a spot in memorial park...he is a life time yankee and was a great player for them...he won 4 world series im pretty sure and it was a total lack of respect when they offered him a minor league deal

  • he def will have his number retired and be put in monument park

  • well now im crying. the only yankee jersey i have is bernies. ive been a yankee fan since im a kid. more than 30 years. i stopped watching the yankees when they didnt resign bernie. thats my tribute the best centerfielder i ever saw play the game

  • the only jersey i have is bernies

  • Bernie Williams. A Legend.

  • my all time favorite yankee...

  • I hope he has a good music career

  • God bless you Bernie Williams we as Yankee fans will miss you.

  • It is always hard to let go your feelings for a player that has been on your favorite team for so long my dad says. Especially if it is a player you grew up watching and at your first game he was there. Through all the hardships, but I got over him, but i will never forget him. GO MELKY

  • a fantastic ballplayer and a yankee great.

  • Bernie Williams is one of the greatest baseball players i've EVER seen.... Mr October for sure.... as a Marines fan I felt the pain of his clutch hitting but also felt the respect the man deserves.... he's great and thats all there is too it....

  • Bernie was given a raw deal how do u offer some one who bats .281 12 homers and 60 or soo r.b.i. a minor league deal get real steinbrenner after all he has done as a yankee forever my favorite new york yankee of all time! go bernie

  • He was ripped. I miss him. Love the Yanks but can't wait until Steinnazzi bites the bullet. Party at my house.

  • Hey Bernie Fans, you can catch all the latest news about Bernie on my tribute site: berniewilliams. net

  • an amazing player on and off the field. I wish he was still back because we could use his spirit

  • a good vid to a greatly, well missed player. great great player and man

  • Thanks for this video post. A very heart felt tribute to a great ball player, and a real gentleman. And my all time favorite Yankee.

  • It's really sad that Bernie is now a Yankee in past tense. I look at this video and I feel old. Kids will grow up and never really know how good he was in his prime. That's really sad. We miss you, Bernie. #51 forever.

  • jw, how old are you. im 15, i think im the last generation to really know bernie williams, he was my fav when i was even younger

  • When they signed Damon, Torre said publicly that Bernie lacks the instincts that other ballplayers have. He's knocked Bernie severel times in public. Bernie doesn't speak to Torre anymore.

  • He called Torre on opening day before the game started....

  • You're right. I read about that in the paper, however this was after severel unanswered call from Torre during spring training. Torre just didn't want to look like the bad guy. Torre is a creep and has his own click. Think about it. Boggs,Wells,Shefield,Soriano All great players who Torre had a personal problem with. And Now Bernie.

  • I've never heard of Torre knocking Bernie. As for his problem with some players, let's look at those players. Boggs was notoriously hard to get along with, Sheffield and Wells are assholes, and his only beef with Soriano was the occational showboating, which drove me nuts too. I miss Bernie too, but I'm not going to villify Torre for that

  • Okay Darko I respect that. However Torre said many times that Bernie day dreams, lacks the instints that other players have, him and Cashman made an issue about his throwing arm. I like Johnny Damon he plays hard, but his arm is worse than Bernies ever was. Now for Wells. He's an asshole? Why? In his second stint in NY He won just as many games with less losses and a lower ERA than Andy Pettitte. Shefield? He's more consistant than Abreu.

  • Don't get me wrong, wells was a hell of a pitcher for us. I was talking about his personality. He could be a pain in the ass at times. I'm not saying you're wrong about Torre and Bernie, I've just never heard anything like that during all the time they were together. I know about Damon's arm, you're right. Melky Cabrera has a better arm than both of them combined. It is ridiculous that such a big deal was made about Bernie's arm when no one cared long ago that he never had one. I miss him.

  • I miss Bernie too. He really never got the praise he deserved from the Yankees, However the fans know. I don't ever remember Bernie getting booed at the Statium. He was a humble player that quietly got the job done. I think he would have had a great shot at the HOF if he was able to get his 300 career homers. I think he finished at 287. Still not bad, with a career average at just under .300

  • He was also so beloved because he was a link to darker times for the team. When he came up in '91, the light at the end of the tunnel seemed so very far away. He was there through good times and bad, and was one of the few links to the great dynasty team left the last few years.

  • agreed

  • they need to bring bernie back

  • Hes my all-time favorite Yankee

  • my favorite 2

  • I was 12 years old when Bernie came up. I vividly remember his first home run. Watching your favorite players get old and retire hurts, and it's starting to happen to me. Brian Leetch and Bernie this year. Some time soon Jeter, Posada, and even Mo Rivera. We'll always have the memories.

  • yanks should take back bernie but as a first basemen

  • beautiful. simply the most moving tribute I've ever seen, thank you for posting this.

  • bring bernie back.

  • Worry not young ones, Bernie will be back for one more season. He needs a proper send off.

Also, they could really use him right now... I mean, Miguel Cairo as a backup outfielder?? Gimme a break.

  • After I watched

  • BERN BABY BERN

    WE WANT BERNIE

  • think theres the slim chance he could make cooperstown i already know hes going to monumnet park

  • Come and save us Bernie!

  • why are u watching this vid is u didn't like Bernie. I grew up watching bernie throughout the 90's he was a fierce competitor and always came through. he was never flashy he just did his job. he had a good work ethic and for that he is my hero.

  • I love Bernie Williams. Thanks for puting this together. Bern Baby Bern!

  • bernie an all-time yankee great. :o)

  • eXCELLENT VIDEO!!, BERN BABY BERN !!

  • he's too old, thank god they didn't bring him back

  • You're not a true baseball fan...you are part of the Fantasy Baseball culture....

  • dude he sucked already, yankee fans just didn't wanna let him go already. in a few years it should be melkys time to shine.

  • veri nice video bernie is a real yankee.
