They banned the unlicensed sale of full autos in 1934,the only person that done damage with a full-auto was a corrupt cop. Why do they need to add fuel to the flame in 1968? the 1934 law was doing great no class 3 civilian has ever went crazy with one, only the gangsters like Al-Capone, The Purple gang, etc. But no law abiding citizen has ever done damage with a full-auto. sometimes I wonder if politicians ever lived in the suburbs....
I love how how Kennedy was shot with a bolt action Carcano and Martin Luther King was killed with a Remington Gamemaster, but they just love to ban and regulate "military style" semi auto rifles and foreign made pistols.
I'm with 'enemyandy', more law videos if/when you get a chance. Do you know if there is a limit to the number of handguns that can be imported into the US year to year?
The only reason they're making the import laws is because companies like Norinco can build, ship, and sell assault rifles at prices that make them affordable for everyone. A US M14 will run you anywhere from $1,500- $2,200. Norinco sells an M14 copy (of near equal quality) for $400 a pop. Most folks don't have $1,500 laying around to buy a Colt M4. They're trying as hard as they can to drive the prices out of the common citizens reach.
It kind of sucks that people nowadays have to know the law to follow it, we need to get back to where hurting people is against the law and shipping/selling guns across state lines isn't.
id like to say thanks for the information i was not aware of when and what the content was for gun control i personally would be very interested to have more related info presented in this manner
The black panthers have a lot to do with these laws!Early on in the 1960's the panthers carried openly automatic weapons to protests and then the fbi and atf pushed for the gun laws because the police departments were under gunned in dealing with criminals that had such weapons. There for congress pushed these laws because of violence and protests that were popping up with racism and anti government speeches going on.The riots in cities too!!!!Turbulent Times back then!
You are very correct, weather automatic or not, many these laws were spurred by the activities of the Black Panthers. If only they realized back then violation ppls rights wouldn't be isolated to the Black community.
I'm happy to see you guys taking the time to tell people about these laws and a brief overview of what they mean. You would be surprised of how many gun owners that have never heard of the Gun Control Act of 1986 or any other anti-gun bills.
Votes do matter. Next time you go to the ballet box be sure of what that person supports and doesn't support so other anti-gun bills don't continue to pass and infringe upon our rights.
"Shall not be infringed..." Seems to me like this is all about infringing on this right....so why is this considered Constitutional?

so if your buying a firearm form someone in your same state you dont have to have a FFL01 to ship it to your house?
rebelgunnut 1 year ago
- no need for an FFL between two legal possessors in the same state
- an FFL can not ship to a non FFL

that part about the automatics doesn't make much sense since the NFA is the law covering machine guns. It was already in effect for 34 years in 1968
If they were illegally in possession of NFA firearms the Feds had the legal right to arrest them without any new laws
