  • Plain old American man singing American music. No warbling, no autotune, no whining, just guts and balls and one of the greatest voices ever.

  • if you like waylon, check out jesse dayton or whitey morgan & the 78s. real country with pedal steel from NOW! they carry the torch.

  • I used to sleep with the 8 track playin over and over. I think I have been brainwashed to Waylon and Willy

  • Melanie toes the mark........I have a hard time staying on it.

  • he was a great singer and I agree....where has country music gone?

  • known for his heavy handed out of tune guitar but damn I love it!

  • sang this to the wife a few times ! lol rip waylon .

  • "Alright, that one gets tempermental. That's been through about three wives."

Ah Waylon, honest 'till it hurts. Such great character.

  • Raw and harcdcore! once i get to drinking and smoking my weed while i play on the computer, it always ends up to me jammin to Waylon!

  • @TEXASGUNFIGHTER You got that right. Bet he puts on a hell of a show every night.

  • My dad played Waylon Jennings everytime we go waterfowl hunting here in California. Back when I was 6. ten years later and I went back to Waylon, thanks to youtube and Now Im looking for some musical Guidance for my guitar and bass playing and simple piece of mind. the World Is A Horrible Place. But Waylon Makes Everything Better. Thank you Waylon. YOUR MUSIC LIVES ON BUDDYY!!!!

  • He would have been 74 today. There will be none like him.

Where has country music gone to? It's nowhere to be found.

  • Waylon had a unique way of picking his guitar using his pick and alternately finger picking along with it and I think he was kind of secretive about it, not wanting to give away his unique sound.

  • this is my marriage rip waylon thank you for your life

  • Waylon was THE man! He hung the damn moon! Waymore's BLUES 4EVER!!! Find Shooter, listen, & watch as he climbs his own mountain...same as his Daddy, he will reach the apex with NO problem!

  • Slasheri, is there a DVD of this concert available anywhere? I would love to have this and have been looking all over. Thanks for posting!

  • @hoss3702 I get the same treatment brother.I guess she's just a good hearted woman.. huh?

  • god we loved him so much.

  • This is the real deal here, back in the 70s era heavy smoking, drinking, and drugs.Waylon lived to sing about them from the heart. Grew up in Little field Texas with A choice of picking cotton or play the guitar. Seems he made the right choice.

  • shilo ... you said it ... when he sings "I don't think Hank done it this way," Hank was the greatest, but ol Waylon chicken picks that axe as mean and ornery & plain down home country as it gets. No, Waylon don't need no lead guitarist.

  • 2 people should be shot.....

  • Waylon could pick the guitar like no other. Waylon was his own lead-guitarist. Waylon took 'western swing' and 'rocked it up'. A role model for the country artists of today...30-40 years ago.

  • @shilo901 shilo ... you said it ... when he sings "I don't think Hank done it this way," Hank was the greatest, but ol Waylon chicken picks that axe as mean and ornery & plain down home country as it gets, and in the 70s it didn't get no better. No, Waylon don't need no lead guitarist.

  • New country "artists" need to see this and take notes

  • I really wish country music of today sounded like this still,I'm 39..and I did grow up with it~~The Best~~

  • priceless'

  • @Bluesbabesrv Yes it's available on DVD. THE LOST OUTLOW CONCERT , recorded August 12 1978 Grand Ole Opry Nasville. Waylon at the peak!

Also available his Autobiography WAYLON. Go Ebay or Waylon's website.

  • @aloysluk Thanks for the info. I actually got the autobiography from the library. They also had Never Say Die, The Final Concert

  • Ol hoss killin it like no other remember Nashville you needed Waylon a lot more than Waylon ever needed you ha ha miss ya hoss , save me a fresh horse

  • Waylon's music was a Runaway freight train, and his destination was to reach the state of GREATEST OF ALL TIME, he not only reached it, he will stay there for eternity...

He was and is the only artist that was bigger then the genre of music he played, he became bigger then the nashville system. When you think about that, you realize, you will never see greatness like this again.

  • the best ever can I say more

  • you hear that woman ? ? ?

  • Absolutely the best country singer EVER!!!!

  • even on my shittiest day ol' waylon always puts a smile on my face with that one of a kind pickin

  • Is it just me, or did Brad Paisley get his picking style from this song? I love 'em both.

  • @CadJack Don't ever compare Brad Paisley to Waylon Jennings. That's comparing shit to flowers.

  • I dont think its overboard, but i dont have a country artist i like more, and i love johnny cash, so waylon is like jesus to me

  • @mmvenison yea it is

  • @mmvenison Why not just his name surrounded by the "running W" ? Best there ever was. saj

  • @mmvenison I've seen a LOT worse than a Waylon "W" tattoo. Go for it.

  • Heres to A Man Called Hoss!!!

  • WAYMORE IS THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!

  • This man justifies drinking a Lone Star or Schlitz!!!!

  • my 3 year old daughter loves when waylon sings the old jimmie rodgers song t for texas

  • There simply never was anybody before of since in country music like Waylon Jennings!!!!! What an amazing man!!!!! Also I've never heard anyone playing guitar like him either......Way COOL!!!! *****

  • am I the only one that thinks of pilgrims when I see his hat? hahaha.

Waylon was the best, there will never be another.

  • Thats actually a style that was common in the late 1800's...Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday wore one just like it.

  • this guy is basically just jamming right now he hated practicing..Thatss talent!

  • my 4 year old kids favorite song

  • youve got a smart kid!

  • ROCK ON WAYLON

  • I think we say:

  • just awesome, it makes sense

  • simply awesome. thanks waylon jennings

  • thanks wylon

  • REAL DEAL country music by a REAL DEAL legend with a sound and style like no other....

Listen to the man pick that damn guitar at 2:15!

  • @BloozeDaddy76 100 percent right my friend! They don't make them like Waylon anymore....a great songwriter and a damn fine musician. Country has really lost its way over the last several years. It will never recapture this sound again

  • @BloozeDaddy76 Most people don't realize what a fine guitar player he was. Watch the Nassau Concert part 2 and hear what Johnny Cash has to say about Waylon. He was self taught and I will always believew the finest country and western singer ever. Gone too soon., Love you Waylon always. Stephanie

  • @BloozeDaddy76 I wish Waylon had played the lead guitar on all of his music. He certainly had the talent. There is just no one better, never will be. Listen to Johnny Cash talk about Waylon on Part 2 of the Highwaymen concert in Nassau, he says it all. Waylon was Man's MAN. The FINEST ever. sj

  • I love the sound of that old Telecaster!!

  • bobluman, well it was good, but powerball would be better, Ole Rick looked at us and just said Hey You know Who I am and let out a scream, he is a wild man.

  • Waylon was the man, I saw him in NC and I sit beside Ric Flair in the first Row, 10/31/1978, I loved the outlaws. Old Ric had a bleached blonde on both arms.

  • Ol' Waylon and the Nature Boy on the same night. If you became the President of the United States or won Powerball, 10/31/1978 would still be the highlight of your life. Woooooooooo!! Whoop whoop!!

  • Did anybody else notice at the very start of this clip, Waylon's songwriting friend sitting there in the blue shirt? Ol' Harlan.

  • The man! Always been ,always will be.

  • The lost Outlaw Concert-1978, Waylon at his best!!! this song...and all the rest

  • I've never been to a concert in my entire life

but I'll be he was better live than many other

  • It's a great song,so there ain't a bad version out,but my favorite is still from the Live album. The more the crowd hollered at the end the more Waylon let it rip on his guitar.Brings a smile to my face everytime, besides he's funny as hell at the start of the song.

  • Got to love the harmonica & organ in the background......Pure Greatness~!!!

  • well ill be knocked off my feet best version of this song yet

  • This time....baby!!! this time will be the last time!!

  • I hope this concert is released on CD soon, it is by far the best compilation of his most famous songs. Thanks for posting!

  • Damn seems like this really is Waylon's page? Thanx bro!!Corporate country suks!!

  • fully agree with you ! :)
