When I read the book, I didn't get the feeling that the 'heroes' had any epic choice to make as such, as Eoin claims in this. More just accidents. And he hasn't really been a criminal mastermind since, like, the third book or whatever anyway.
He looks too old, His hair isn't right, He's smiling (what's up with that? I thought he was supposed to have a permanent scowl when he isn't grinning like an evil mastermind with a devious plan), His eyes aren't blue, The accent is too thick, His face isn't right and I didn't think he always wore such plain suits (atleast have him wear a different color tie and maybe add some lines to the suit suit, you know what i mean by "lines").

@TheDanieldante its much better to read it in english, i had problems finding it in my country too, bought it online from amazon, came in like a month but it worths it :P
When his hair is all messed up and he's smiling, it matches what I think Orion would look like(a more childish/less stoic version of Arty). But other than that, I don't really think the guy is the best representation of Artemis(the thinning hair is a recurring complaint xP).

Silly... silly... silly girls... always romanticizing characters. Orion is physically identical to Artemis. I actually think this kid is perfect for the part. I like him. I don't see the problem... and this is Artemis. Artemis Fowl II. Deal with it. If you really liked Artemis, then why wouldn't you like this version? I wish they didn't change the covers of the books, now my bookshelf is mismatched, starting from the time paradox. The Atlantis Complex was a very disappointing book in itself.
I don't understand why they didn't cast the actual Artemis. I mean, sure he's fictional. Sure he doesn't actually exist. Sure it's easier to cast a real, living human being instead of a fictional character, but c'mon. That's no reason not to cast the REAL Artemis Fowl. :P

Hello from Czech republic (between Germany and Poland - so I'm sorry for my english)! I'm a big big fan of this series! Love Artemis. This is absolutly amazing video (but I must say I'm little confused, in my mind seems Artemis a little bit diferent...) and the Fowl Manor is very nice ;) I'm waiting for film, I MUST see it ;) I have read this series a lot of time (maybe 10 or more?) and I look foward to Atlantis Complex in Czech :) Good job! ...first this book was awesome and another thing...artemis fowl has bangs! Bangs! Because in the sixth book they mentioned him flipping his bangs numerous times...so he must have them...he doesnt have jelled back hair...so ha!..sorry out of hand..

Artemis is suppose to be super pale with one hazel, one blue eye, and jet black hair....not dark brown. This guy doesn't look remotely evil or witty. He looks and acts more like a comedian if anything. =[

I've been looking forward to this book for so long and is just about to order it off the Internet since I can't find it in any bookstore or library, but if it's gonna make me disappointed I might just not read it at all. Honestly, I'd rather live thinking Eoin can't fail.
@loneronline i think the book was meant as more of a way to show how he's been affected by the disease so that the last book would have more of an impact on the readers and anyway- it was still a good book .
Disney actually could do a good job on the movie. Pirates of the Carribean was good. The thing is, the movie-department of Disney didn't make this, the book-department did. They obviously have less money than the movie-department, look at the actors (cheap!) If they'd let the movie-department do this it would've probably been a lot better! But i think Artemis Fowl is not big enough for that.. sadly! :(
@eggsistoast Disney doesn't destroy all books. They didn't ruin Rick riordan, who wrote the kane chronicles and a few of the Percy Jackson books after Disney took over Hyperion.

"Interesting" interpretations of Artemis aside, the book itself was good.
I felt that it was a little darker than what we usually see from Colfer. But maybe that was just me?
I do wish we could have seen Orion a bit more, and it would have been extremely interesting to see some of Artemis' recovery...

this guy is so old...
Artemis is suppose to be super pale with one hazel, one blue eye, and jet black hair....not dark brown. This guy doesn't look remotely evil or witty. He looks and acts more like a comedian if anything. =[
And what's up with that tacky song at the end? O_o
If Disney really has the books, they could and must do a lot better than that.

I've been looking forward to this book for so long and is just about to order it off the Internet since I can't find it in any bookstore or library, but if it's gonna make me disappointed I might just not read it at all. Honestly, I'd rather live thinking Eoin can't fail.

@loneronline i think the book was meant as more of a way to show how he's been affected by the disease so that the last book would have more of an impact on the readers and anyway- it was still a good book .

Disney actually could do a good job on the movie. Pirates of the Carribean was good. The thing is, the movie-department of Disney didn't make this, the book-department did. They obviously have less money than the movie-department, look at the actors (cheap!) If they'd let the movie-department do this it would've probably been a lot better! But i think Artemis Fowl is not big enough for that.. sadly! :(

@eggsistoast Disney doesn't destroy all books. They didn't ruin Rick riordan, who wrote the kane chronicles and a few of the Percy Jackson books after Disney took over Hyperion.

Artemis Fowl seems like one of those things where you see it perfectly in your mind, but it doesn't translate smoothly to real life.
Oh no, Hyperion and Disney got a hold of these books? But i liked Artemis Fowl the way it was before!
