"Later, in the mid-1990s, a fourth anchor store was added, in front of what had been the main entrance. It was occupied by J. C. Penney, which moved from its former location at the west end of the mall. The original Penney became a Cincinnati-based McAlpin's in 1996 and a Dayton-based Elder-Beerman in 1998."
This used to be a JCPenney. In 1970, when the mall was built, Dover was JCP's lift vendor.
@suzzex yeah. I've said that to connor before but I guess I am not smart/special enough to prove it to him. Maybe his bff andrew can tell him since god forbid he could talk with me and/or not talk about me behind my back. People always think that I'll never find out when they talk about me behind my back... Guess What... THEY'RE W R O N G
I knew it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was a JCPenney store, which is why there are 2 HUGE Elevators. These are 100% Dover, which is what JCPenney always used. Also, why are you mad at me?
Nice!, I think this is a Dover modernized by Montgomery, because there is a Dover logo that was painted over and the light indicator was probably a Dover 1970's indicator. And Montgomery liked Epco buttons for their modernizations, but im suprised they didnt use innovation industiries then. And that motor sounds like Montgimery.
Nope i was mistaken, its an OTIS

I think its a Westinghouse due to the inner fixtures, or an Otis due to the outer fixtures. Nice classic elevator.

Schindler Call Button, but probably MontgomeryKONE, or a Montgomery Elevator modernized by Kone. Sorry, Montgomery Motor noise.
quadc74 2 years ago
Burlington/Dover, probably modernized by Dover or a 3rd party.
lielevators 2 years ago
I think this is a Montgomery elevator that was modernized by Kone, because of the motor noise and Epco fixtures that they like a lot.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
KONE. Exact same buttons and motor are at the JC Penny at the mall near me. If you check the door sensors, they'll be branded KONE.
FranceHopper 2 years ago
i kinda figured that too, an older KONE, that hall button told me so ;)
