  • that thing dead with its ass in the air

  • If ridley copied this then these guys ripped "it .the terror beyond space"..

Mebe he did mebe he didnt..

Its worth remembering ..Ridley didnt write alien..Dan O'bannon did...He also didnt design it..Giger did ..Along with ron cobb...Mebe they saw this...

Or mebe this is a true story...retold over and over. cementing it into the human, popular conciousness to suit a nefarious plan .haha

  • "I've never seen a spaceship like this." ~ Clearly you haven't seen Star Trek.

"If he moves, call us." ~ HELLO! IT'S DEAD. lol

I honestly don't think Alien ripped this off, but I can see the resemblance. I'd explain it off as having a similar influence: Lovecraftian horror. Just my opinion. My guess is no better than anyone else's.

  • I have the complete film. Yes it is obvious they stole ALIEN from this movie from start to almost finish. Even the flame thrower guns and landing gear and the shape of the earth ship (like the shape of the ALIEN ship) and the dark planet, the giant dead space pilot...

  • Damn this reminds me of Aliens. Did Aliens rip this movie?

  • Is that Luciana Paluzzi? (Fiona Volpe from Thunderball).

  • Looks like the tail light from a 1955Packard

  • The truth comes from NASA very slowly cuz the gov wants control over us.

  • Nok et gullkorn :-)

  • One of my top 10 scariest films.

  • yes it dosa, mario bava is responsible for. the post i have made.

  • Maybe a little but from what I read they got most of the idea from the 50's fil "It! The Terror from Beyond Space".

  • Hmm. Seems like Im not the only one that this reminds me of the movie Alien. Im sure they got the idea from this movie.

  • they did!

  • yeah... this looks like a oscar winner!

  • and so do you!

  • The special effects of this movie are obviously dated, but the sets were fantastic. I first saw this when I was about 5, and I always remembered it. It left an long lasting impression on me.

  • At the risk of being resoundingly abused, this has a vague resemblance to the 1979 movie Alien when they locate the old ship on the planet and one gets infected by the "face hugger".

  • I read somewhere that Ridley Scott was inspired by this movie, so the resemblance isn't coincidental.

  • @bfyau Not a vague resemblance...I'd say more like a remake

  • Naw, don't worry. He ain't gonna move.

  • an amazing scene from an ultra-rare, kitschy, trippy, Soviet-style SF Vampire film

  • When I first saw Alien, I was reminded of this part of this film. This scene always sort of stuck with me.

  • 14 years or more earlier, in 1965, amazing sets, lighting and atmosphere like in the 1st year of Star Trek. Bava's awesome! Creature Features ruled from 1971 to '86?

  • The sequence where they explore the alien ship is a tour d'force of wonder and visual effects. It almost makes up for the poor miniature work in the rest of the film, the bad dubbing (in the American release) and the slap-dash ending. Did Ridley Scott ever acknowledge the influence this film had on "Alien"?

  • wow, some of these foreigh films are pretty good (definately much more imagination than the recent hollywood junk...thanks for posting it

  • This was the idea for "Alien" in 1979.

  • I saw this movie so long ago on Bob Wilkin's Creature Features. It's great! I love cheesy old SciFi like this.

  • I thought I was the only one who remembered Bob Wilkin's! I use to love those old movies!

  • I grew up with "Creature Features"! I vaguely remember this Italian movie. 60`s foreign flicks rock!

  • Bob Wilkins lives on in the hearts and minds of many of us, his twisted followers of yesteryear!

He just recently passed away. If you do a web search you will find a website dedicated to him with lists of upcoming fan tributes/celebrations throughout the Bay Area.

  • ONLY strike in Ridley Scott's cannon in my book.....total rip off when it came to narrative stucture and art design "borrowed" or "homaged" as they say into Aliens. Mario Bava was ingenious...

  • this was done almost 10 years before alien

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • Stupid question: which skeleton most resembles the monster from "Alien", the one outside or inside the ship. I can't tell.

  • The lady is Brazilian superstar actress/ filmmaker Norma Bengell.

  • God bless Mario Bava. Even when it's total cheese he makes it look fantastic.

  • this scene in particular and the first part of the movie was totaly an inspiration for alien.

  • Yeah - after seeing this it's so obvious. A pity Mario Bava & this movie don't get much acknowledgment from Scott & the Alien creators as It!The Terror From Beyond Space, for example.
