Cool. I, personally, love it. One of my favorite songs of all time. And, even though I'm a Christian, my list of favorite songs is based purely on the beauty of a song. I find most "praise music" to be terrible. Being a musician, my list of favorites is purely based on musical interest and the poetry of the lyrics. Gotta love "Knockin' on Heaven's Door", too. Not to sound too random. I appreciate the lyrics of "Lake of Fire" (covered by Nirvana), even though it's somewhat at odds with my beliefs
if it was easy and clear everyone would do it and there would be no authenticity. Its a book based on historical happenings but its a book about faith.
The point is that something has to exist that didn't need to be created. Science can never explain the beginning of all things. Read about it. Even the best scientists don't have an answer. That's the point of God, he's eternal. There are things our human minds can't comprehend and science can't explain. You keep believing your way with your own knowledge, and I'll keep believing in a God that's smarter and better than I am. It was nice talking with you, but there's no point continuing. Later.

science has already explained the beginning of the universe. 100% of all our knowledge has come thru science. 0% of our knowledge has come from religion. religion of course has made many claims but we have proven all of them false.
religion is a proven fraud. y would u look to those con artists for any answers on anything?
ur logic that just because science hasnt got every single answer yet is justification for believing in harry potter fantasies is absurd! u can be better than that!
Religion is a proven fraud. We can never get to God by our own works. Jesus came down to us since we could not reach God. Science and God go hand in hand since God created creation. All creation points to a maker. Science (by my definition) is just man's attempt to explain the "why" and "how" of the universe.
u can stick with ur astrology, superstitions, bronze age fantasies and supernatural stories of gods, spirits and magic. i prefer to live in the real world where facts r determined only when there exists evidence to support them.
ok, when i get sick i will go to a doctor who studied science. and when u get sick u can go to a healer who studied the bible and pray. then we'll see who makes out better.
i think u will get to see first hand that natural selection in evolution really is true.
I would agree with you .. IF... people weren't defying all the odds in hospitals and people that were given a week to live made it to their 70's... doctors are stumped all the time... yet people pray and make it through... maybe its coincidence... maybe its not... however I think there is something there and thats why its religion.. unless you get pleasure from it don't go around Youtube posting comments that can't be backed up...
Not sure what I believe in, but I do know one thing. When people live longer than they're "supposed" to, we should wonder why the doctors guessed wrong.
That being said, this is an awesome song. Easily one of my favorites.
Beginning of the universe, huh? So tell me how it happened...since there are some problems w/ the big bang theory now that we've seen anti-matter galaxies.
hah! that's funny. where did u get that anti-matter claim from, your bible? oh, that's right, u got it from a scientist who is observing the universe and gathering evidence to make his claim. he is not reading some dumb old book. see y science works?
first off the bible is filled with science, history, etc. the only dispute is that you dont believein it..but that dosnt mean its not valed. Your argument dosnt work cus your not useing science your using unratinal thought..have you read the Bible if not calling it a dumb book is crazy becouse your using preconceived notions not based on study and facts.
once again... that dumb old book is incredibly written and the fact that 40 authors living at different times could write such a work without any contradictions.. that has prophesized many things correctly... I think there is something to it... and even you don't believe in, you shouldn't call it a dumb old book... it is a literary masterpiece as well... many authors draw inspiration from it because of how well written it is...
There are many respected scientists that believe in God and there are many scientists that don't. People choose what they want to believe based on their own experiences and decisions in life, not because of science. You don't believe in God because you don't want to believe in God, and you use science as the reason behind that motivation. I'm a very happy and fulfilled person in life and that's because of my relationship with God. I'd be miserable if all I relied on was my knowledge.
Whether something is real or not has nothing to do with ur experiences and decisions. i dont believe in gods, tooth fairies, santa clause, dragons, thor or bigfoot because there is not 1 shred of evidence that they exist. these r made up stories.
but i agree, life would be less miserable if we did indeed live in such a fantasy world.
I think it's funny that you say I'm ignorant of science and that's why I see God all around me. Science just proves that there is a God that holds everything together by His power. You think everything works in such harmony by chance and not by design? That's what is crazy to me. Science proves there's a God.
u r wrong. science actually proves that the strong nuclear force holds things together, not god. there is nothing special about the way the universe operates. if nature's laws were different, we would just have a different looking universe. this universe is just one example of the infinite ways it could exist. if god created the universe, who created god?
u r right. if i cant even convince u that us deliberating 2 opposing viewpoints is a debate, there is no way im gonna make any progress in convincing u that the bible is just a bunch of fairy tales.
Maybe if you ask God, he will give you understanding of some of those more important things science can't ever explain, and you can begin to let those things shape your life instead of just thinking with your brain. Trusting only in our brains and in our limited knowledge can be destructive to us as human beings. We've also got a soul and spirit. Don't be afraid to have a little faith in God. You just may find him active in life all around you.
100% of our knowledge has come from science. there is not 1 claim from religion that has been proven true and the claims we can verify have all been proven false. y would u continue to believe anything religion tells u when they have been consistently proven to be frauds time and time again?
there is nothing more destructive than believing in things that arent true. if u have no science education and r ignorant about how nature works, it would be very easy to see a god active all around u. but once u learn science u see it is not really a god after all.
Actually, there are quite a few renowned scientists who were athiests until they began to get involved in higher science and then became believers because they could not immagine a world as orderly and intricate as ours withoutsome power behind it.

that is a cop out and a lazy scientist. if the standard for believing in religion is when someone couldnt figure out how something worked, we would all still be in the stone age!
fortunately there r real scientists who r doing the hard work of figuring out how the universe really works and y it works the way it does.
throw ur bible in the garbage and pick up a real science book if u wanna learn some true facts.
If your definition of 'scientist' is somebody that ignores a possible out come before they ever start, you could say that. if you actually think that science should be allowed to speak for itself without presuppositions, red "God's Universe' by Owen Gingerich, a renown professor of astrophysics at Harvard University.
and regardless I don't think anyone should bash and atheists beliefs or a christians or any other religion... no one knows what is right or wrong that is why it is beliefs... you will never convince someone to become your belief by flat out telling them they are wrong... thats one of the things that bugs me the most as a christian is other christians who insist on throwing their believes on people... that just scares people away from God..
well its not really a cop out... because no matter what science can't answer some questions such as what was before the big bang.... things like that are only answered through religion because speaking scientifically, science isn't made to explain everything... and even my physics teacher admits this and he is atheist...
also science is all about disproving so until someone disproves God undenibly I'm going to say religion has science beat in that department.
You speak of science as being about absolutes and "true facts". What is fact is that much of science is accepting a framework - an explanation - that works until a better understanding is obtained. For example the wave versus particle theory of the way light behaves. Many of the greatest scientists of the past and many today believe in God. Their belief in God did not stop them from trying to understand the world. Just something to think about.
I'll stick with a God that created us, and holds everything together by his power(including science and it's laws). You happen to put your faith in science, but I put my faith in a God that created the laws of science and also has the power to act outside of those laws whenever he likes. There are simple everyday things that science can't explain, like a human's free will, understanding, faith, hope, love, etc.
You apparently misunderstand the term faith. i dont have faith in anything because that is a terrible quality to have. faith is believing something to be true when there is zero evidence or all the evidence says that thing is not true.
science does in fact explain simple things like free will, understanding, love, etc. if u r in search of real knowledge, u will only find that thru the scientific process.
So you are saying that scientific "fact" has proved how the Universe began? You're the one living in a dream world my friend. Here's a scientific fact for you. Something doesn't just create itself from nothing. There has to be something eternal, or something "uncreated" that started the beginning. Name me one thing that came from nothing and is now soemthing. Only an all knowing eternal God/Creator is a viable belief in my opinion. Everybody has a God, and yours just happens to be science.
science is system of gathering verifiable evidence to see if a claim is true. it cant be someone's god. i dont know what happened b4 the universe was created AND NEITHER DO U.
but one day we will find out. not because someone has a vision or uncovers some old book. but because someone uncovered verifiable evidence.
but today there is just as much evidence that it was created by ur god as there is that it was created by cocker spaniel puppies
if u didnt want 2 debate, u shouldnt have commented. im just saying there r real facts about our universe 2 be learned. religion and sorcery and magic are not things that are real. i think it is a tragedy that people r still getting conned by these ideas in the 21st century.
Making a comment doesn't mean I'm doing it to debate. Call it what you want. You won't change my mind and I'm sure you won't change the other people's minds on here who have a strong faith in God.
