As rediculous as some pleople think the 80's hair metal was this ablum (IMO) was the best line up and most polished music they have ever put out.. Crazy Nights is a very close 2nd.

If you minus Gene's costume on this tour then I think this was probably in the top 5best KISS tours. The stage set was brilliant (all three of them), the music sounded great, good setlist but Gene let it down. The other three pulled the look off well, but it just wasn't right for Gene. What they could have done was make Bruce, Eric, and Paul wear the glam sort of outfits and make Gene wear something like the leather jacket and pants that he wore on the Crazy Nights and HITS tours.

@KissArmyLFC your comment is spot on. gene always said that the reason KISS originally didn't go for the glam look was because "there's nothing more ridiculous than football players running around in tutus". unfortunately, that's kind of what he looks like here. have you seen him in "Never too young to die"? yeah...he kinda looks like his character from that film here. personally i like the Crazy Nights/Hot In the Shade look the best for all of them, but it was especially the best for gene.

Vinnie played on a couple songs on Creatures: 'killer' and 'i love it loud', I think, and maybe one more, but I can't remember which one... there were several guitarists on it: Adam Mitchell, Bob Kulick, Vinnie, and someone else- can't remember... Vinnie was good, I agree. Wish he would've hung around for a few more albums! That lineup was killer- he was a good songwriter, as well.

My theory on why there wasn't any Asylum footage on Kissology Vol 2 is that it isn't as visually stimulating.

That show and tour was promoted as "less glam more grit" so there wasn't as much going on stage despite the music.

The stage layout was just amps, drums, and stairways that went up into the crowd. But I don't think there was any pyro or anything like that.

Regardless I'm a huge fan of the "non-make up" KISS

The Asylum sounds about right... what were they crazy? Those songs, those costumes and that pouffy hair. Kiss is amongst the elite in rock music. I love Kiss and everything that they stand for but not everything that they did. And ironically enough I never saw any of this Asylum footage ever and I know everything about Kiss. Makes me think that they wanted it buried and gone from all memory banks

ive been a kiss fan since 85 since this tour. i was 5 years old. i love them no matter what. altho it pains me to see how Gene turned Kiss into a marketing bloated beast since 2002....almost makes you ashamed and embarrassed to be a fan nowadays. ive stuck it out in jr and high school when the grunge era made our band dinosaurs cuz i believed in them. ive earned my stripes and have my own opinion. Gene looked like a fool in the 80s. if you think he was gorgeous, then thats ok too.
