To experience BF3 takes time and you're correct there is a greater learning curve than any CoD game; gaming is all about enjoyment and everyone likes their FPS for different reasons. I like the more total emersion style of BF3 and you like the basic kill or be killed style of CoD....so, game on, Ken and have fun.

@Herosmurf Actually, since I posted that I found it in Asda for £37. Thanks for the tip, though! Finished the campaign, couldn't get to grips with the multiplayer - IMHO no improvement on Batt Bad Co2 or MOH, will trade it in for MW3 and only pay £5. Best of both worlds!
I 100% understand Kens point of view, ive had the game a little under a week now and i have gotten into a jet twice... Its annoying as fuck. The times i flew the jets was sunday last week, barely anyone had the game and it was still annoying. This is a great game though. Ken will be missing out but roll on MW3 <3

By never being able to win a game of first come first serve in a scramble to use the vehicle, you're being denied a part of a game you've paid money for that doesn't require being unlocked, but killstreaks do (as well as being earned in the field of battle)

The jets handle pretty much the same as they did in BF2. Only learning curve is getting use to actually using the gatling gun cause air-to-air missiles are the 3rd unlock.

So you dont want bf3 because you cant become semi-pro with a plane in your own time? lets face it, you probabaly wouldn't get one in the game even if you did become pro due to the people like you said. Having played said campaign, I was wrong. You never get to actually fly a jet, you just gun, so you don't learn how to fly a jet. And you never get in a chopper, so you can't learn to fly that unless you do co-op. So, the only way to learn how to fly a jet or chopper is by trial and error when everyone and their dog has Stingers.
I agree Ken, flying the planes IS difficult. I've been working on it some.They SHOULD have a offline combat mode to practise
That being said, it isn't actually that hard to get into the planes. Even if you have to crash 100 planes in order to learn
I think you're missing out on it Ken. Not every game is perfect. MW2 was my first online COD game and I got my ass handed to me hundreds of times (and so did you), but we learned

One of the things that I enjoyed about watching Ken Burton's videos was the fact that he wasn't so serious. He was the average gamer just having fun. I could relate to that. I was very entertained by them and had many laughs. But recently it seems Ken has become way too serious. It was fun to watch his reactions while he tried hard to get better. It seems his time and popularity on youtube has changed him. I miss the old Ken Burton videos. Don't think they'll ever be the same.

why to go ken, i made my review and was saying about all the glitchs and people are commenting like shut up they can make a patch. Fuck you a patch i paid $60 for a game and it should be mostly bug free and i should not have to wait for a patch and nor should other people and they will keep doing this to us unless we stand up and say where not gonna take this garbage any more.
You know Ken, you can go into an empty server and practice whatever you want. And yes, the campaign will teach you and give you practice flying as well, there's a whole mission based on doing just that. You're being a bit of a baby about this, and you're missing out on one of the most amazing games of the year over it. Even if you're no good at flying, you can still play without flying the damn planes, most people don't anyways. Sheesh man, talk about whining about nothing. Just play it...
@EternityinTransiency Actually, the Single player mission you are riding in the gunner's seat. I agree that Ken should give it a go anyways, but he has a point that a training tool in the mode of Combat Training or Private Matches would be beneficial to new players. Its his choice, ultimately, to not get BF3.
I'll give you that. I can't force the man to do so and you're right a combat training would be a great addition, especially with something like flying which so many people aren't very proficient at. But I still think he's taking a stubborn stance on it. I mean, I've never been any good at flying and I love Battlefield games, I don't whine about it because it doesn't give me a proper training option. As I said, he can use empty servers to try and can always take it back later.
@EternityinTransiency Agreed. One of the frustrating things to me about Ken is his unwillingness to change his gameplay style. As an older player, my eyesight isn't great and my reaction time is slower, so I have to outsmart younger, less experienced players. Ken would benefit from playing BF3 in my opinion, I know its helped me become more aware of my position, spotting opponents, and definitely with my accuracy. Its a great, fun game, and a nice change from CoD, which I love as well.
That being said... the game is still fun and I am still enjoying the matches, although I do rage quite a bit when stuck a on a team of new players like myself and having to play the same dominant players over and over again. Can't mix up the teams now and then? Plus, NOBODY TALKS. Part of the fun on CoD is communicating with your team and then with the opponent after the match.

In a way I understand where Ken is coming from here. I am new to the Battlefield franchise and am enjoying the game so far, but there definitely is a learning curve. I have found myself playing TDM primarily, as Conquest and Rush modes are filled with BF veterans. One thing I have always liked about CoD is you can find your niche and have success. There are some players at such a high level that new players don't have a chance to have success. The vehicles are overly complicated as well.(cont)

The jets handle pretty much the same as they did in BF2. Only learning curve is getting use to actually using the gatling gun cause air-to-air missiles are the 3rd unlock.

i took a good look at what the origin programm does with ur harddisk. the terms and conditions are really terrible and against the european law. it sents ur ip, mac addres, ur installed programs and far more to ea and all the ppl ea sells ur information to. really sad that ea uses this spy program :(

So you dont want bf3 because you cant become semi-pro with a plane in your own time? lets face it, you probabaly wouldn't get one in the game even if you did become pro due to the people like you said. Theres going to be 30 other people trying to get in the jet at the same time as you so even if you do become good with them, the ammount of time you'll spend in one will not be worth the effort of spending 8 hours in a training ground.

I initially said "The campaign is the practice mode!"
Having played said campaign, I was wrong. You never get to actually fly a jet, you just gun, so you don't learn how to fly a jet. And you never get in a chopper, so you can't learn to fly that unless you do co-op. So, the only way to learn how to fly a jet or chopper is by trial and error when everyone and their dog has Stingers.

I agree Ken, flying the planes IS difficult. I've been working on it some.They SHOULD have a offline combat mode to practise
That being said, it isn't actually that hard to get into the planes. Even if you have to crash 100 planes in order to learn
I think you're missing out on it Ken. Not every game is perfect. MW2 was my first online COD game and I got my ass handed to me hundreds of times (and so did you), but we learned

One of the things that I enjoyed about watching Ken Burton's videos was the fact that he wasn't so serious. He was the average gamer just having fun. I could relate to that. I was very entertained by them and had many laughs. But recently it seems Ken has become way too serious. It was fun to watch his reactions while he tried hard to get better. It seems his time and popularity on youtube has changed him. I miss the old Ken Burton videos. Don't think they'll ever be the same.

You know Ken, you can go into an empty server and practice whatever you want. And yes, the campaign will teach you and give you practice flying as well, there's a whole mission based on doing just that. You're being a bit of a baby about this, and you're missing out on one of the most amazing games of the year over it. Even if you're no good at flying, you can still play without flying the damn planes, most people don't anyways. Sheesh man, talk about whining about nothing. Just play it...

@EternityinTransiency Actually, the Single player mission you are riding in the gunner's seat. I agree that Ken should give it a go anyways, but he has a point that a training tool in the mode of Combat Training or Private Matches would be beneficial to new players. Its his choice, ultimately, to not get BF3.

I'll give you that. I can't force the man to do so and you're right a combat training would be a great addition, especially with something like flying which so many people aren't very proficient at. But I still think he's taking a stubborn stance on it. I mean, I've never been any good at flying and I love Battlefield games, I don't whine about it because it doesn't give me a proper training option. As I said, he can use empty servers to try and can always take it back later.

@EternityinTransiency Agreed. One of the frustrating things to me about Ken is his unwillingness to change his gameplay style. As an older player, my eyesight isn't great and my reaction time is slower, so I have to outsmart younger, less experienced players. Ken would benefit from playing BF3 in my opinion, I know its helped me become more aware of my position, spotting opponents, and definitely with my accuracy. Its a great, fun game, and a nice change from CoD, which I love as well.

That being said... the game is still fun and I am still enjoying the matches, although I do rage quite a bit when stuck a on a team of new players like myself and having to play the same dominant players over and over again. Can't mix up the teams now and then? Plus, NOBODY TALKS. Part of the fun on CoD is communicating with your team and then with the opponent after the match.

In a way I understand where Ken is coming from here. I am new to the Battlefield franchise and am enjoying the game so far, but there definitely is a learning curve. I have found myself playing TDM primarily, as Conquest and Rush modes are filled with BF veterans. One thing I have always liked about CoD is you can find your niche and have success. There are some players at such a high level that new players don't have a chance to have success. The vehicles are overly complicated as well.(cont)
