My father used to be a signal maintainer on the IHB working out of the 55th street tower over near Midway Airport, for the 30 years prior to about 1990. He took me and my brother to work with him a few times and I'll never forget it, of course. Biggest problem by far was cars hitting gates. Next was kids vandalizing signal equipment because they had nothing better to do. Great video. Good to see the IHB still around. Good for them.
That's a big ass Interlocking Tower. Reminds me of SL (State Line) Tower in Hammond which is gone now. Glad to hear there is still a local operator though.
